yes but I'd have a new car. I drove the car after it was fixed 3 blocks and traded it for a 2008 Toyota Solara. First time they said it was fixed I got in it and started it up and the airbag disabled light came on. I had to go back a second time to get it and didn't trust the repair so I traded it off.
Why would you file a claim if all you’re getting is $250? Now your car is branded with flood damage and you're going to lose a lot more than $250 on the sale of the vehicle. Good job bro.
You bought insurance with a $500 deductible and now you are complaining. You parked the car in a low lying place. You chose the deductible. You got what you paid for. If you had bought $500 dollar deductible insurance with any other company you would have paid more and still had to pay the $500.
In the future if there is a storm drain near you are in a low lying area. Don't park there if your going to be gone for a long period. Grow up and take responsibility.
You paid 500 dollars because you have a 500 dollar deductible for your comprehensive coverage, now what a deductible is, because most people have no idea what it means, is a way to keep small claims to a minimum, which is a way to keep premiums low. The 500 is the maximum you would ever pay out of pocket, and usaa would pay the entire amount over 500
Usaa did not trick you, this is how all insurance companies operate i assure you, if deductibles did not exist, your premium would be sky high.
Sorry to disagree, but I find USAA to provide exceptional service. The $500.00 in question is likely a deductible which you choose when setting up the service. If you want to pay less out of pocket be prepared to pay higher premiums.
USAA has legendary service and this is a fact. USAA does not have to tell its millions of members that. The members tell USAA. As a member, I would echo joshua81em. Go try State Farm and GEICO. Remember, USAA is an association. It is a not for profit institute with no share holders driving the company for self-interest profits. USAA is here for one reason and one reason only. To serve those who serve our country.
Sometimes you can't prevent a storm drain in a parking lot back up, and not everyone has a house with a garage (people in the barracks/dorms). That $500 is probably the deductable; then the insurance company pays the rest.
Sounds like you had a $500 deductible policy (do you even know what a deductible is??). If you do, that's exactly how it works. You pay the first $500 and the insurance company pays the rest. I've been a member for almost 40 years. Never had a problem with a claim and enjoyed their outstanding customer service. PLEASE, PLEASE get another insurer. I agree with joshua81em: You'll come running back to USAA.
hey i'm a usaa adjuster. if you think you have damages that weren't properly appraised, or found during the appraisal, just call back. if you still think you're getting a raw deal, ask to speak to the "PDS" (property damage specialist). They have oversight over the field appraisers.
How is this USAA's fault? You admit you parked your vehicle near a storm drain that backed up. I believe the one at fault is the owner of the vehicle, not your insurance commpany. Did they refuse to fix your vehicle or something?
No I didn't leave the windows down. I was sent to Kansas. I was gone 3 days. A storm drain backed up on base and the water came through my door jams. Thanks for asking the question. Do you know of anyone else that has had problems with USAA? I intend to send out an email to all military personnel to let them know USAA really isn't looking out for the military like they claim. Check out the video the people from Portland
posted. Type in USAA in the search and you will see their story.
I would have went to the base legal office and filed a claim to recover your $500 deductible for the sewer backing up on the base. USAA was correct in paying you $250 if your deductible was $500.
so.....did you leave the windows down during a storm? is that really USAA's fault or mother nature? You have a deductible it is called full coverage...........seriously you did not get blanked by USAA you left your veh. exposed to the elements I am sure you saw the rain clouds right?

Guess what genius, if the car was totaled you'd still pay the same deductible!

Give *one* example of how USAA sucks.
I LOVE them. They are the most awesome insurance company on the planet.
Handing you a check for the damage minus deductible, is what you pay for.

$750 worth of damages - your $500 deductible = $250 what they pay.. What's the problem?
