  • Can anyone uplaod the clip in which Forgetful recites the alphabet? I believe Michael Earl Davis voiced him that time?

  • a classic that i remember ^__^

  • Did you notice on the clapboard that Frank Biondo's name is on the clapboard? If you don't know who he is, he is one of the cameramen that worked on Sesame Street since the first season, I think. And also, Forgetful Jones is going through the vowels.

  • lololololol Forgetful jones is an asshole!

  • How the crap does Forgetful Jones get star roles?

  • Why do the cows sound male?

  • When i was little, the talking haystack always used to scare me at the end!!!

  • Kermit is the funnier than anyone any time that he gets mad.

  • I'm surprised that Kermit didn't smoke 200 packs a day or drink several bottles of tequila because of times like this!

  • look at gladys two friends

  • I remember watching thsi when I was 4, It took me 16 years before I finally found out how the rest of the song was supposed to go :-D

  • IIIIIIIIIIK...........

WAIT HOLD ON A SECOND HOLD IT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT STOP STOP CUT CUT CUT!!

    Now thats funny

  • Slate Girl: "WAIT! Stop!"

    Kermit: "What's Wrong?"

Slate Girl: we just got a call from Hammerstein's lawyer and unless we change the title to "Uklahoma" we can't sing the song.

  • What do you suppose Kermit will do when they get back from lunch and Forgetful sings "Uklahoma"?

Boy, he'll REALLY lose it then. Worse than when Forgetful sang "Iklahoma".

  • "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIklahoma!" LOL!

  • question if there cows allegedly female (why do they have such er testosterone injected voices ...

  • This time you sang AAAAAAAAAAAAKlahoma!

    You sang AAAAAAklahoma!

    That is very,very funny!!

  • 1988

  • when did forgetful jones get cut from Sesame Street?

  • Wow Kermit's a good Dareter.

  • lmao....classic!!! Remember this from like 20 years ago. Kermit gets heated at 2:44...lol.

  • okay so the best part is by far the hay bale at the end!

  • ...........I think that Forgetful Jones has

    Alzheimer's Disease.

  • That was an excellent Sesame Street part. That made me laugh.

  • i cant stop laughin when i see this dwl oh the nostalgia :-)

  • The hay-stack was scary as a kid

  • this is so funny

    he was mad as shit

    i mean i would b 2 lol

    .:LOLO:.

  • Forgetful Jones certainly won't forget this episode after Kermit blowing the fuse =:-)

  • Forgetful Jones certainly won't forget this episode!

  • Ha! Think of the actor playing the Haystack, standing motionless until the very end. The last thing you expect is Haystack to turn around. Funny!

  • Why does the video poster say this is "overrated"? Ask any Sesame Street fan, and this is a top 5 skit of all-time. Everyone remembers this. Classic Kermit, classic Forgetful Jones, classic song, great ironic teaching moment. Even the woman saying "take 2, take 3, etc." is hilarious.

  • Why doesn't he talk anymore?

Doesn't anyone else know how to perform him? Can't anyone else imitate his voice?

    I can.

  • Wow Kermit is so pissed from 3:55 onwards

  • he nearly went nuts on jokes lol

  • I love this!!! I remember this as my favourite skit as a kid

  • I wish they had added 'U-klahoma' to this sketch

  • Wow! I remember watching this when I was about 6 or 7 years old. Brings back fond memories!!

  • "Well, you sang the wrong thing! This time you sang IIIIIII-klahoma!! That's what you sang! You sang III-klahoma! It's suppose to be O-klahoma!" XD

  • sooooo funny. such a great combination of humor, pop culture, and phonics. who can imagine a better way to learn????

  • cor blimey - I bet tex Avery is giggling up there !!!

  • so funny when forgetful jones said

    Oklahoma wrong on the first

3 takes and Kermit goin' out of

    contral

  • I used to laugh so hard at this when I was a kid!

  • Oh... after the break it will be uuuuuuuuklahoma....

  • I never saw this before. I'm no kid and I enjoyed this...

  • this is hilarious, Kermit is immense <33

  • The I-klaholma was the best part LOL!

  • This is one of my favorite Sesame Street moments. Forgetful Jones sang so wildly funny. The best part is when he sang "IIIIIIII-KLAHOMA", Kermit yells back at him. Very, very hilarious!

  • i adore Kermit.

as well as all the rest of Sesame Street, the best TV programme ever to grace our screens.

    this song is immense.

  • wish kermit and forgetful did more sketches together

  • How about "Write it Down"? Anyone got that?

  • i go through this skit in the shower sometimes... it's one of my favorite sesame street moments, this and NEEEEEAAAAAR.. FAAAAAAAAAR!!

  • That Forgetful Jones is so forgetful and so funny! I love him!

  • I love humor like this.. but I really didn't find this funny at all, didn't even make me smile. and I usually love crap like this.

  • LMFAO: "wait a minute! wait a minute! stop stop stop! you sang the wrong thing! it's not IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIk-la-hom-a....this time you sang 'IIIIIIIIk-la-hom-a instead of Oklahoma!!!!"

  • I love this! It's so funny!!

  • Useless factoid: The Muppet lady with the clapper's name is Agnes, probably in reference to Agnes DeMille, who choreographed "Oklahoma!" during its original Broadway run.

  • AAAAAAAklahoma! EEEEEEklahoma! IIIIIIIIIklahoma! Those are very funny!

  • Damn, I always laugh me ass off everytime I seen this. Personally, I think Kermit needs a shot of Crown Royal and smoke some weed.

  • It's probably just me, but the slate woman kind of reminds me of a puppet version of Oprah.

He he, Ooooooooooo-prah-oma. (This wasn't my original intention, but it worked.)

Anyway, what I wouldn't give to have a fraction of Jim Henson's genius.

  • very true. can't imagine how many sketches in the works were canceled when he passed away. What an influence he had

  • ha ha ha

  • I rember this. Because is so funny when Kermit go mad.

  • it cracked me up when i was 7....and it cracks me up now.....classic sesame

  • Sometimes when I'm daydreaming i remember watching this as a kid and laughing just as hard as I did then.

  • Me and my sister was going through memory lane and I looked this up and we cracked up just as hard as we did when we were kids watching this. Ahh...memories

  • I found this the other day and sent it to my mother and she was like, This was the best skit of sesame street ever.

  • "IIIIIIIIIIIIIII KLAHOMA" hahahahaha

  • great square dancing

  • "YOU hope they don't have hay again."

  • the hay stack scared the shit out of me as a kid, probably more than any other sesame character! hahahaha

  • Forgetful Jones is such a cool Muppet with a very real personality.

  • Doesn't he have short term memory loss?

  • hes forgetful jones!! thats why!

  • Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain!

    CUT!

  • Oh man.....so hilarious.....IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE-LA-HO-MA!!!!! :-D

  • "So I told him again if he did that I'd bring him up on charges"

    Woot!

  • EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK-LAHOMA!!!

LMAO, I absolutely love this! :D

  • WAIT HOLD ON A SECOND HOLD IT WAIT WAIT WAIT STOP STOP CUT CUT CUT!!!!

Damn that cracks me up every time

  • I couldn't stop laughing when Kermit lost his temper at 2:43! So funny! Forgetful Jones maybe obviously forgetful but he's SO funny! I wish he'd appear on the show more often! :)

  • I just wish Sesame Street was still good period. The show has really gone down the drain. Has anybody heard the new theme song? Yuck.

  • Forgetful Jones is still on Sesame Street but, he's not a major character anymore because, as soon as his performer (played by Richard Hunt) passed away, Forgetful Jones stopped appearing in skits where he talked, so now, he's in skits where he doesn't talk.

  • Why couldn't they find anyone else to perform him? Couldn't anyone imitate his voice? I can!

  • u know the 1 "i wonder about the world up above us' by kermit?

i wish it was on youtube

  • best bit of sesame street in history!

    hilarious

    !

  • Ha ha ha! The cows are men!

Forgetful Jones used to get on my nerves when I was a kid, but this skit always made me laugh sooo hard! Pure genius!!

Is Sesame Street even on anymore? Is it called Elmo Street now? :P

  • Yes, Sesame Street is still on television but, the end of Sesame Street is not called "Elmo Street." It's called "Elmo's World."

  • May this be a lesson for everyone: Do not work with someone with a short term memory.

  • why is this skit overrated?

  • Because they aired it so dang many times.

  • That doesn't really make it overrated though, just overaired.

Personally I think it's classic Sesame Street.

  • And it has since been humorous and popular.

  • Yesterday, I went to a panel honoring the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street in Wayne, NJ. Although hearing the cast speak was something special, my favorite part of the night was when they played this sketch in honor of Richard Hunt, who puppeteered Forgetful Jones. Seeing nearly 1,000 people- old and young- at the antics of Forgetful Jones and Jim Henson's Kermit (and laughing along with them) was a great testament to the intergenerational appeal of Sesame Street and the Muppets.

  • haha i was there too!

  • I was at that, too. When they played this, after "A"-klahoma and "E"-klahoma, you knew "I"-klahoma was coming, and for some reason, it's still laugh-out-loud funny. I don't know how they did it.

By the way, wasn't that awesome when Oscar poped out of that tote bag?

  • Absolutely amazing hahah.

    Oscar is my favorite

  • Man, I was there too!

I had the time of my life!

  • sounds like playpens when they dance, know it is weird but i heard it

  • Omg I've been looking all over for this sketch but couldn't remember the title to it. this is my all time favorite sesame street clip of all time!!!!

  • hilarious! my favorite part is between 2:40 and 3:18! what a comedy laugh riot on that part!

  • overrated? it's classic Forgetful! i saw it all the time as a kid! Oh, ADHD.

  • My dad made me watch this. I don't remember this...

  • I loooooove this video, as a child it cracked me up! where-ever did forgetful Jones and Kermit get to? sesame street just doesn't have the magic and charm it used to before. sigh...

  • i love forgetful! seeing kermit furious is priceless.

    dang schedule.

  • forgetful jones is just a visual learner kermit, he just needs a telaprompter and he'll be all set- kind of like newscasters! lol.

  • Cut cut ! We forgot a spotlight behind ! LOLLLLLLLLL

  • lol the animal puppets are kinda cute.

And Kermit is a hardass lol.

  • IIIIIIIIIklahoma! LOL! Best part!

  • especially since kermit completely loses it at that point.

  • this clip seems even funnier now than it did when I was four

    "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-klahoma!"

  • that talking bale of hay used to creep me out.

  • "IIIIIIIKlahoma!" ROFL!!

    gets me every time! ^_^

  • Miss Forgetful...

  • For some strange reason, my brother and I used to crack up when he said "IIIIIIIIIIII-klahoma", and ONLY when he said "IIIIIIIIIIII-klahoma", as if the letter "I" was hilarious. I love this! Thanks for posting it :D

  • lmao one of the best

  • Forgetful cant even remember 1 letter. hilarious

  • LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!! I remember watching this as a child and being pissed off at forgetful Jones, then he has the audacity to get smart and say "I don't see why not.." when Kermit asks him if he can sing it right this time. smh

  • I so remember this!! ROFL!!!

  • I love it! Kermit rules! Thank you to the Great Jim Henson!

  • I used to laugh my ass off when i'd watch this when i was 5...and it still makes me laugh my ass off.

  • LMAO... a talking bale of hay. only on Sesame Street.

  • rotfl i love it! poor kermit

hehe my favorite is IIIIIIIIIklahoma XD

  • That's my favorite part too!

  • because of this sketch, this is the only part of Oklahoma I know haha... classic moments! =)

  • I was literally going to write what you did! java2guava

  • lol..me too...

  • IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKLAHOMA!!! ROTFLMAO!!! I miss Forgetful Jones so much!!! This is a classic.

  • I miss Forgetfull Jones.

  • ROTFLMAO!!!!!

I can't believe this is still funny to me!!! Good memories!!!

  • i need to laugh.

  • Sesame Street had some greta short bits, this was one of the reasons I liked Kermit.

I think after this I "played director" with my toys.

  • 'AAAAAAk-klahoma, its meant to be Oklahoma you sung AAAAAAAAAAAAAk-lamhoma'

Cracks me up to this day

  • Kermit is still a better director than M. Night Shymalan.

  • Comment removed

  • This was one of my favorite Sesame Street sketches when I was little. Especially when Kermit nearly lost it after the 3rd take. I'm still laughing too!

  • "AAAAklahoma!!"

  • What if Forgetful came singing 'ZZZZZZZZZZZ-KLAHOMA'; ya know, just to be random and all.

  • This has got to be one of my most memoriable(sp?) childhood memories of Seseme Street! XD; Jones, you're a killer, in a good way! XD ♥

  • Oh man I loved this skit so much. Kermit losing it at the end is still funny. :D

  • I remember thinking when I was little that it would've been cool if Forgetful sang Sometimes Y-Klahoma. Yep, that's the kind of kid I was.

  • that would have been funny!

  • i remember seeing this in the late '90s. Thanks for posting it so i can see it again! :)

  • This is a great part of my childhood....Jim Henson and his puppets!!!! =)

  • I still find this skit terribly hilarious... I must've been like 4 when I first saw this... Sitting in my PJs early in the morning and covering my laughs with a pillow so I didn't wake anyone else up.

    ...

    IIIIIII-Klahoma.... Oh gawd. xD

  • I remember this when I was 4! it crackes me up even now! man this brings back memories

  • The cows are actually cross-dressing bulls.

  • Don't let the horns fool ya! There are some breeds of cattle that have females with horns.

As a child I went with my country cousins to get the milk cow from the pasture and actually had to climb a tree to get away from the milk-cow that had horns!!! Those horns looked pretty scary for a non-country girl!

  • I'm working on an "Oklahoma" production right now! What a coincidence! I love the "iklahoma" part. It's like Forgetful Jones is giving the viewers the vowels of the alphabet. I learned the vowels when I was in first grade, and I never saw this on TV!

  • it sounds like Jones was going in order of a, e, i, o, and u

  • 2uecutO: I believe that was the point of the sketch to be educational, but funny.

  • lmao god bless the creative mind of jim henson ! he died way before his time ! Also i'm 30 and watching this made me laugh :P

  • Jim Henson really knew how to get through to children with his puppets.

  • HAAAAA!

I didn't dream this as a kid - it really happened. I love this too much!

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAA-klahoma XD

  • BWAHAHAHA!!!! As of this day, this clip STILL cracks me up!

  • Sesame Street Kermit Jim Henson Forgetful Richard Hunt Director Camille Bonora Cows Kevin Clash Horses Martin Robinson 1980s

  • This time you sang IIIIIIIIKLAHOMA!!! I don't think I'll ever be old enough to forget how friggin hilarious this is!!!! LMAO

  • OMG I nearly fell out of my chair when Kermit went ballistic and screamed IIIIklahoma!!! at Forgetful Jones! That was frigging hilarious! And I havent seen this in so long. yes! When i saw Oklahoma in school this is what came to mind first, lol!

  • I noticed when Forgetful Jones sings "AAAAAAAH-klahoma!" his voice sounds a little different, almost like a Jim Henson voice. Pretty weird, since his normal speaking voice sounds like a Western Scooter or Don Music

  • Does anyone have the Sesame Street skit featuring Ed Grimley and Billy Crystal?

  • The part at 2:51 always made me laugh hard!

  • part 2:43 for me.

  • I loved this as a kid, but I got scared at Iklahoma, because Kermit seemed so angry.
