It was June 1964 when I heard Astrud's "Ipanema" blaring repeatedly outside a music store in downtown Pittsburgh. I was a long-haired Beatles freak - struggling like heck to make ANY kind of Lennon-esque rhythm from a severely warped Harmony Stella guitar; but when I heard this song and saw Astrud's photo, "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" became "I Wanna Hold HER hand." Last June I had the wonderful blessing of sitting at the table in Rio where Tom and Vinicius penned this timeless tune.THANKS, Kristin!
