Ubuntu 10.04 LTS desktop animation visual effects shortcut keys

It says I can't enable visual effects!! I search the help application and I don't have graphical drivers or something like that. I got a nvidea 250 or 260 ( can't remember lol ) anyway could you show me how get this !!!!please!!!!

@tommyrocko If your using a Virtual Machine like VirtualBox, VMware, or other virtualization software then the Visual effects will most likely not work. In my experience, visual effects only work from the LiveCD or if you actually installed it on your computer's hard drive. Maybe the video card is not compatible with Ubuntu visual effects. The visual effects usually works when I use the livecd on my PC.
