  • 5:13 "im not speaking to you" X-D

  • so you might as well stay where you are!

  • You all should see their movie.

  • look, just come here

  • Just as the clip cuts off there is a tune beginning. Anyone who knows the name of it let me know. It sounds like something I heard when I was a kid and probably came out in the sixties sometime. Thanks.

  • "So you might as well just stay where you are"

    Hahahaha! So many good jokes

  • And modern hospitals......are not here. lmfao

  • The jokes are actually more accurate than the narrator.

  • As someone from Puerto Rico I feel so honored I could almost cry

  • @Gabelovescourtney then go cry somewhere, and then go die

  • This island is on the move

    'Hawaii?'

    'No! An Island!'

  • PUERTO RIC-O!

  • Feel the glory of the Royal Scam - nice Steely Dan ref!

  • Man, why do these guys hate Puerto Rico so much?

  • @VirtualBoy500 They don't--they're making fun of the short itself.

  • @RachelSummers777 I know, I was being sarcastic. Did that not come across?

  • @VirtualBoy500 No, it didn't. The collective stupidity of the internet has jaded me so that I can no longer tell the difference between mock-stupidity and the real deal.

  • @VirtualBoy500 tone is lost in text

  • Brilliant!!!

  • @MattL883 lolwut

  • LOOK.. just come here!

  • I live 3 blocks from the museum they showed here! Right in front of that museum is the university I attend :-)

  • I love how the Guantanamo joke just got better with time!

  • A great destination for airlines that went out of business (Pan AM, Eastern).

  • PROGRESS!!!

    PUERTO RICO!!

    GAMBLING

  • @cavalierfan1995 A CENTURY AGO!

  • 70s porn music makes any documentary sound cool

  • "This island is on the move."

    Hawaii?

    No, an ISLAND!

  • Progress Island USA??!!!! WTF!!!! No we're f***king NOT! Also, why can't gringos learn to pronounce names and places in Spanish? We have to learn their language, but they can't even make an effort! And people wonder why I went to Europe to study instead of the US! On the other hand... Mike and the Bots, funny as always.

  • Because sometimes it's just really hard to learn a new language. I mean I'm from mexican descent yet I'm the only person in my entire families history who cannot speak spanish. Yet, whenever I try to learn I'm usually told to stop since I can't say my R's correctly and confuse words with one another. Overall, this doesn't really affect most Americans since the main language here is english in every state. It's not like europe were you need to learn many languages to conduct simple business.

  • @RockyBalboa211 Yes, learning a new language is difficult, but I feel that if they're going to make a film about a place where most of the names are in Spanish, you should learn how to pronounce things better. I make the same criticism of people from PR who try to act like they can speak English when they really can't. For me, it's all in the attitude, trying to learn a language and having pronunciation problems is fine and normal, but making a film with no regards to the language is pretentious

  • @RockyBalboa211 Just in case, I'm not disagreeing with you ^_^, I'm just criticizing the hypocrisy of a lot of Americans; they mock Latin Americans for their poor accent in English, but they don't care to learn how to pronounce things in Spanish when needed. In many European countries they don't actually learn several languages (mostly only English as a second language), but I have yet to encounter the same prejudice as in the States, where, ironically, Latin Americans are the largest minority.

  • @AmayaRamiel: Oh, I totally agree with everything you just said. Yeah, sometimes people can be quite lazy. I mean, I have even heard people mispronounce "San Juan", and I'm always left wondering how they can mispronounce that. I may not know that much spanish, yet I know the correct pronunciation! :D

  • WOW, talk about your funky wide lense and your smooth zoom lenses.

  • ooh..indiginous cuisine!!

  • "Championship golf courses, the finest to be found anywhere." "...Are in Florida." "Modern hospitals." "...Are not here."

"Luxury hotels." "... Are desperately needed."

"Progress can be seen everywhere." "In places other than this."

I love it when they finish the narrator's sentence.

  • Crow: Ah! Whoa! I'm having a freakout up to 10 years later!!

  • @NJYankee 920: That's where I heard that music first too back in the 80's. Good call!

  • Here money is exchanged for coconuts.

  • Wow amazing that puerto rico is still a huge shithole

  • I just read about Puerto Rico in a Bat. Geo from a coupla years back. The article referenced 'Operation: Bootstrap', and immediately I knew I had to re-watch this!

  • GAMBLING!

  • end of music..."PUERTO RICO!" end of music... "PROGRESS!" lol

  • Here we're flying in a new trumpet section LOL

  • I almost inhaled some saltines while laughing so hard, F word!

  • LOL @ 3:57

  • Look just come here!

aye, better than the grooming and looking clean and neat Eisenhowerishy-Utopian-anglosaxony swill the other 50's ones suggested. All in all they are spoofing the agedness of the times in a comical way that hits everyone in the end.

  • 5:14 HAHAHA!!!!!

  • 2:32 "thank you very much". lmao

  • If they're so American, why don't they just succumb to statehood?

  • @Tanyableu

I guess they want to have a degree of atonomy that they wouldn't have with full on statehood.

  • room dos dos dos! Anybody else know what that means?

  • @pretorious700 "Room 222" was an ABC comedy back in the early 70's. The opening credits for the show look very similar to the students walking on campus here.

  • @MutantLitherKhan you are correct!

  • LMAO!!! 5:45 "here Gilligan plays a set"

  • I have to give this short some credit, at least here youre learning some useful geography (well, kinda), instead of "if you dont wash yourself behind the ears you wont be one of us". Besides that, the music is very funky!

  • @kissmeimaidiot Very true. (about the music)
