Great 11th hour arrival by the Star Force! But I would have had S-Kodia's plane fly into the camera as his face takes up the screen, a look of determination on his face. Oh & I meant flyING deadly turds.Snicker-snicker.
Funny how here the stack missiles are effective but in Season 2 of Yamato the commander's assistant (Gen. Stone) complained that it was obsolete and a reason why Yamato needed to be more like the Andromeda.
@Restitutus "Bolar Wars" really bored me, but if you listen to characters carefully, there are stuff we can learn as statements from politicians. I'm sure it'll bore your child. Mine won't even try:-) "Bolar" should really be spelled "Bhorror Union," since probably it's B+horror.
@Hesuku There is more about it than that. My daughter keeps asking about the intricacies of nuclear fusion in the solar core, for example, indicating that Season III is a useful basis to teach her some solid astrophysics.
@Restitutus Yes, I remember I was thrilled to learn the nuclear fusion thing in science class while watching "Bolar Wars" aired on TV. The mechanism or phenomenon in the natural world is so interesting, since they are applicable to many aspects of everyday human life as well.
@Restitutus Another recommendation for your child is "La Seine no Hoshi." This one is a female "Zorro" at French Revolution era and will give her some illumination on history. Please let her try. Who knows, she may like this courageous beautiful girl knight over politicians' space battleships? Unlike the series 1 & 2, I didn't enjoy "Yamato III" even as a secondary school student.
@Restitutus They have it in German!! It's "Stern der Seine." Simone is intelligent and strong, yet so sweet. She reminds us of Sasha, Starsha's daughter.
@Restitutus the Pleaides is a tight ship, it's my favorite enemy vessel (next to the scorpion recon ship) to bad Bandi never did a 1/700 scale model kit with light ups, like they did to Andromeda.
The keys to survival for the Yamato are that she's manned and she has plot armor. Look at the poor fate of Ryu's Andromeda, a much stronger computerized battleship which lacked both of the above keys to survival.
@Welove18 Thing about computerized equipment is that it can fail at odd times and, of course, can't figure out how to get things done like people can.
It kind of makes sense the Yamato's weapons improved so much, considering Earth was nearly destroyed twice by superior alien technologies. Humanity seems to flourish best under adversity and desperation (and some reverse-engineering of captured enemy ships no doubt--lol--after all that's what the Japanese do best).
Yes, but the wave-motion engine, too? Seven days to Iscandar/Gamilus would have cancelled out most of Season 1 if Stasha was a bit more clever in dealing out suitable technology. Or did they learn that from the Gamilusians (who do it all the time, even in Season 1)?

In fairness, we DO owe Desslok. Derek got his home planet, and Alex got his girl.
So, ummm... Dark Nebula Admiral: Get away? They didn't continual warp all the way here to get away. The came to kick your ass.
Yamato (you say YAH-mah-toe, I say yah-MAH-toe) carrries 54 astro-Tigers now?! She's a fleet all unto herself.

You must understand that what makes Yamato invincible is her crew... Lol. That´s the idea... ;)

THAT crew? That cannot tell the opening valve from the full-stop switch?
Restitutus 2 years ago
No, the Yamato crew who are brave, loyal and sacrificial. I love them all.

Brave? Sacrificial? Dr. Sado?????

Of course yes - partially(I don't believe in drinking). Didn't you watch the last part of "Farewell Yamato" movie?
