  • Is that the stock shifter? Looks kind of high to be a short throw shifter. I installed a short throw and it lowered the shifter quite a bit, which I loved. I couldn't imagine using a sloppy stock shifter again. Now I just got to get my T5 rebuilt. It is starting to whine in reverse and on decelleration.

  • @gunforme well reverse is naturally going to whine because the gear is straight cut as opposed to the forward drive gears which are helical cut for noise reduction

  • 30# injectors seem a bit big for that set-up. I had GT40 (the originals) Cobra intake 70mm TB, 70mm MAF, Crower 15511 (218/224 .468"/.486") and 9psi via Paxton. I was using 30# injectors. I suspect 24lb injectors with properly adjusted fuel pressure and full length headers would make a pretty big difference on your car. You can use 0.5 brake specific fuel consumption as a starting point - for a 350hp engine you will need 24lb inj @ ~ 58psi. Your low/mid rpm throttle response should improve too

  • @freeloader700 i see u have listed b303 & e303. have u tried both and if so which did u like better. i like ur setup its almost excactly what im going for i just order the afr 165's im thinking trick flow intake. bbk cai & headers, and 1.6 rockers but im really stuck on which cam to get. it is a 5-speed

  • @fives81 i tried the e vs the trick flow stage 1 and : The e303 is a great cam but i more like my new trick flow stage 1 because The Trick Flow had a larger lobe center, therefore more torque at low rpm and more power at high rpm, and the trick flow had a little more of duration and lift on the exhaust. However, The E303 is a good choice anyway.

  • @bigtyrone83 stinger performance has literally everything to make the 2.3's haul ass. they've got a mid 10 second quarter mile notch with only bolt ons. I've got a 2.3 1990 five speed and my older brother has a 1989 5.0L five speed, he's going to put a 351 in his and i might take his 302 and turbo it after a quick rebuild... but then again i might just turbo the 2.3L, i've seen plenty of cheap 2.3s beat 5.0's :D

  • @bigtyrone. sounds like you have a nice mustang. but you say the problem is its only a 2.3 thats still cool, ive seen people do some cool stuff to a 2.3 with a little work ive even seen some run some fair times on the drag strip. its not going to touch a GT but still a 2.3 is a mustang is a great car to be proud of.

  • @1nfam0uz1 personally i would stay with the short throw shifter for quicker more precise shifts. The stock shifter that was in my Stang made for sloppy shifts when trying to run through the gears quickly.

  • I like them. I had GT40's with 1:72 RR's before and had a slightly torquier set up with that but this is pure HP. as soon as I hit 3600 rmp it pulls HARD to 6000rmp.

  • this is a T5 with 3.73 rear gears. I don't know why but the 1st seemed really long. Is that why you were asking?

    Well if your not sure on your rear end gear, next time the car is in the air, mark one of the rear tire's and the drive shaft, spin the tire for one revolution, and count how many time's the driveshaft rotates

  • No it IS 373 in the rear, I know for fact. It just seems like it was longer than norm. Plus you need to figure the cam makes it seem not norm
