I think JRPGs use to be a little better. However they are not bad, but lately they have been some what disappointing. I would love to see one where the main character is black, but I know thats just a dream. (not like afro samurai)

I accept that jrpg's were an influence to what games are but the genre has become outmoded, games are harder to make now and rpg's are going to go wayside, too time consuming and risky now

JRPGs made games what they are right now dude, and also the main reason that made people look at games as an art instead of a toy for kids.

also the first video game song to win as worldwide hit single was on a JRPG (Final Fantasy 8)

Hey no one is forcing you to play. It is true that a lot of main characters have cocky and rude attitudes, but I personally do not care.

Don't like turn based games? That is your opinion. I personally enjoy turn based games and I enjoy the plot and gameplay that comes along with it.

You do not seem to understand that RPG is a role playing game, put some imagination into it rather than bashing a genre of games.

Seems like youngsters these days only care about graphics and fast pace action.

parasite eve is one of them thats a good jrpg.. oh and so is valkyria chronicles and star ocean you were only thinking about Final fantasy 7 with the combat and main character.. even then i thought the game was fantastic and thought everything you just said was nonsense play other jrpg's not just FF
