Nothing weird Kyle was crying. They killed his father, he wanted to kill them to have revenge but killing unarmed defeated enemy pulls closer to the Dark Side. You can see hes lost in his conflicted emotions, he still mourns his fathers death so he finally killed Maw in anger which pulled him closely to the Dark Side, but spared life of Jan so he could still be a Jedi on a Light Side.

Why arent they making a new Dark Forces / Jedi Knight / Kyle Katarn game? The Prequels couldn´t kill Kyle, The Force Unleashed couldn´t kill Kyle and The Clone Wars couldn´t kill Kyle either. So wheres the problem in giving him a new game?!

@CorranHorn15 Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I think they stopped it because they properly dont want to ruin such a good game and storyline of kyle katarn by making more. If you make more then what is already out there, it will eventually turn out to be suck ass. At least it what seems these days, but thats my only theory. The other theories are they dont care anymore or dont have the money to make anymore and mostly focus on the old republic and battlefront 3.

The difficult part of this is that if he doesn't go to the dark side then chances are every one of the dark jedi's standing in front of him will gang attack him (at least... that's what is probably going through his head).

I wouldn't think it would be too hard of a decision for him not to go to the dark side though. If it were between darkside or kill your best friend then the choice should be obvious.

He was caught at a real emotional moment and put in a real pickle.

You kill him the exact same way while going dark. Kyle really isn't officially light or dark until faced with the decision to kill Jan. Whether you go light or dark at that point is determined by how many civilians you've killed before that.

You can even get light AND dark powers up until that point. Afterwords you're striped of the powers that don't fit your alignment and forced to pick ones that fit.

Vengeance and anger are the ways of the dark side, regardless of what your enemy has done in the past. There have been plenty of instances in which a Jedi was driven to the dark side by vengeance.

Now if he'd killed Maw in battle, that would have been acceptable by Jedi standards, but Maw was defenseless.

As Jerec said, Kyle's started towards the dark side, but that doesn't mean he can't turn back. Nobody is unredeemable, I mean look at Vader. He's responsible for countless deaths.
