  • I bet that Obama guy wins

  • jeez whats with the sound effects, fuck off!

  • Wow hes not a big fan of the clintons, is he?

  • 3:27-3:44 "Very impressive to me now is the number of people [who] wouldn't listen to me a few years ago who now [can't] say enough about how cheap and nasty and cynical and brutish and vulgar and crass and coarse, crude, nasty, unscrupulous, [and] mendacious [Hillary] Clinton is."

Damn. Rising high school seniors don't need SAT prep books; they just need to listen to Christopher Hitchens for a few months.

  • That female interviewer is eyeballing Chris to death. You can tell she wants to get in his pants.

  • @S0vereignty Yep. Can you say "flustered"?

  • I can't fucking stand that doushebad interviewer. What a smug little dipshit.

  • "If the Republican party was a dog, it should be shot for giving us such a lousy parade of candidates"

  • @007superfan21 Both.

  • Damn, all those candidates got Hitchslapped! Shiiiiit!

  • Of course this is not an argument against Darwin. I have no qualms with Darwin.

But his family were Eugenicists, especially Thomas Henry Huxley and Sir Francis Galton, and Huxley's descendants Aldous and Julian Huxley, who chaired UNESCO. Even Darwin's grandson was president of the Eugenics Society.

  • Charles Darwin's grandson, Charles Galton Darwin, became the president of the Eugenics Society from 1953 to 1959. The Eugenics Society advocated that the poor peasantry be eliminated for the benefit of mankind. Darwin became frustrated that the Impetus of Natural Selection had become stagnant.

  • Charles Darwin incestuously married his first cousin, Emma Wedgwood. When Charles Darwin's mother died, he married his mother's sister, a Wedgwood again!

  • @anonymouswhiteprick. If youtube "makes you depressed", why are you telling Us about it?. Why are you babbling on about Darwin on this channel??. Go away and marry your first or second cousin. Like your mama did.

  • Because Darwin's cousin, Sir Francis Galton was the of founder of modern Eugenics, a racist pseudoscience.

The Huxley's too were married into the Darwin-Wedgwood family of Erasmus Darwin and Josiah Wedgwood and would later admit that they were trying to create a new scientific elite through continuous Incest.

  • Fascinating. And what the Hell has That got to do with Christopher Hitchens??

  • Nothing.

I just thought that my comments were Cute.

  • You're in Dire Need of a Life.

  • I love your commentary with my entire body.

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson You are a Deeply Disturbed European. It's O.K, tho', You are a full-time Troll and spend your days doing THIS. I boot my computer and there they are; Rambling, Babbling. The empty mind of a Crack-Head. Demanding my Attention. Look at this column and take a look at Your Self. It's Sad.

  • Hillary Clinton's head looks like a Ziggurat.

  • Youtube makes me Depressed.

  • Hitchens is an obese effete drunkard and a braggadocio.

  • They reflexively agree with everything Hitchens says.

Even when he is grossly amd egregiously wrong.

  • Most Hitchens admirers are devoid of independent thought.

  • MOST people who make vague, general appeals to what MOST people think or do are, for the MOST part, confessing ignorance.

  • Unfortunately, this forum is rife with thoughtless obsequious Hitchens Sycophants.

    Hitchens Drones.

  • Wow,how wrong you are.

I'm a Hitchens admirer and it is precisely because of his independent thought on many topics-especially religion- that I enjoy hearing him.

Those that are religious are the most likely candidates to have limited independent thinking skills.

Hitchens gives any advocate or follower of organized religion a withering debate that is difficult to counter.

I do,however, disagree with his Trotskyite philosophy since I'm a Libertarian(see,I have an independent point of view!).

  • Hitchens only excels at debating against Religion.

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson

Hitchens excels at it since since religion is the biggest fraud of the last two thousand years.

The average school child knows that it's fake so it really doesn't take much to dispel it.

Don't get me wrong,I'm no Hitchens sychophant,I think he can be aloof and a drunk, but that doesn't mean that he isn't brilliant.

  • Religion is an Obvious Fraud, and all too easy to repudiate.

I enjoyed his Book, "God is not Great," however, his arguments for the War in Iraq, were untenable.

  • I love the adjective combo Hitch whips out on Bill Clinton.

  • Their mezmerized by his coolness.

  • Hey, Hitchens sure changed his tune about Obama in a couple of months time.

  • Great comment on Michelle "Grudge" Obama. So tired of these pampered affirmative action blacks where nothing we give them is ever good enough.

  • Makes no sense. Try again.

  • A religion is a set of rules to base your life on, a dogma, a creed/ world view AND a practice. How does one practice Darwinism? Yes it is a theory, and it appears to be the best one at this point in our scientific discovery, which is more than can be said about any religion. And that's true, it is only observable after millions of years, but we can look back in time and see the evidence of it with our fossil record.

  • You realise that both GRAVITY and GENERAL RELATIVITY are also "just" theories?

  • Postulation, supposition & conjecture are synonyms of THEORY, according to the dictionary. FACT is not a synonym of THEORY. Learn. Research. Impress women.

  • The scientific equivalent of postulation, supposition and conjecture is a HYPOTHESIS. A scietific theory is supported by factual evidence.

Don't pretend to lecture me on what I do for a job.

  • No. SOME scientific theories come and go. Not all. Most are simply corrected and refined, as new facts come to light.

Thus, science doesn't perpetuate stupid shit. It teaches people to question rather than accept dogma. This is why religion (dogma) feels so threatened by science - because it empowers people.

  • Darwin

  • Lincoln stated, in his debates with Douglas, that Negroes are unworthy of the rights of white people. Lincoln stated that Negroes are unfit to serve on juries, should not be allowed to marry outside their race, & so forth.

  • Wow, the female interviewer is eye-fucking him like crazy.

Anyways, Hitch is brilliant as always, but I can't stand the graphics on this show. Completely tacky and classless, and they don't go with the interview.

  • Is it just me- or is that female newscaster looking at Hitchens like she wants him?

  • That would be scandalous seeing as Michelle is married with kids.

  • JQISAWESOME:

    > is that female newscaster looking at Hitchens like she wants him?

    JPRG1966:

    > scandalous ... Michelle is married with kids

Never mind that neither marriage nor children have stopped countless females and males from flirting ...

the fact remains that the woman has a PUT-ON "Ohhh, come hither, I want youuuu, I know you want meee (look at target sideways, click the shoulders, flutter the eyelashes)" look--see how she looks at her co-host at the start.

    She looks absurd.

  • Lol that's what I thought !

  • I hope Hitchens stays sharp for the rest of his days. I love his style of journalism and unparalled sense of reality.

  • Hitchens called Clinton a horrible primate hahahaa

  • I still respect Christopher Hitchens's intelligence (not so much his use of it to make people look inferior), but if you watch all of his interviews does anyone else get the nagging suspicion that he doesn't like people and he likes to fuck with them? Like I've heard him say he is a republican, but on more than one occasioun he has taken a stand against them. Not the John McCain stand against the republicans were he is pretty much bullshitting about taking a stand against his own party.

  • To my knowledge, Hitchens has never self-identified as a Republican. His views seem to tilt libertarian, if anything, but not to any textbook standard (i.e., he's a huge interventionist). As a result, he pretty much disagrees with everyone about something.

That said, I think that you're right about him getting a rise out of pissing people off. He'd be my idol if I had one, but he certainly comes of as misanthropic. Then again, only he knows how much of it is theatrics.

  • Good comment. He's not Republican (he says he's socialist at heart) but I think that over the last 20 years or so, by and by, he's come to realize that Republicans are right about a lot -- insomuch as they stand for the constitutional ideals. But I find him sincere, if colorful. Religion, death penalty, torture, and dog-eat-dog capitalism are where he moderates.

  • mmmmm he so fucked the female interviewer after the interview.

  • @oxygenownz: Yeah. Hitch nailed that chick shut after the shoot was over.

  • Comment removed

  • @oxygenownz He's married...

  • I gotta say, those guys were remarkably unbiased. That's professional

  • GBART:

    > I gotta say, those guys were remarkably unbiased.

    > That's professional

That is one big reason for them to get bashed by the zealots on one side of the political divide and by the zealots on the other side.

Bashed most viciously by those who detest anyone who does not join in the orgy against "the designated enemy-du-jour (Bush, Republicans, Conservatives, the Clintons, the West, capitalism, etc)" and does not worship in the altar of Deluded Utopian Idealism.

  • "None of these people should be president"

    Then who should, Chris?

    Why didn't they ask that?

  • "None of these people should be president"

He was talking about the republican candidates, so the default answer is "Not a republican".

That one snuck by ya, huh?

  • Doesn't invalidate his answer that none of them should be does it.

Maybe they didn't ask because anyone should realise someone is going to be chosen based on reasons based on popularity and media bias, knowing the right people etc.

Being the best candidate, having real intelligence and knowing how to deal with problems in reality don't count. That's been shown.

  • oh give me a break: hitchens dost PROJECT too much. talk about a narcissitic do nothing. He discounts public service and subordinates coordinated public service, and the tremendous expenditures of energy men and women like Carter, Clinton and Clinton expended, for glib, accented criticism. Hitchens is rhetorically the dandy -- fun to marvel at, but you will need to carry your own luggage up the stairs.

  • It isn't a point Hitchens makes, although he does allude to it; namely, the people who pursue high office are--for better or worse--not inherently the most charming or scrupulous characters. We Americans seem unduly enamored if not entirely intoxicated with the concept of Harrison Ford or Cary Grant for President. It's as though we want a superhero to worship. To quote Mario Cuomo, "I'm voting for a president, not a maitre d." But we want the maitre d. This is foolish.

  • I agree with Hitchens on everything, exept for the Iraq war, and his tramendous personal contempt for the Clintons. BILL CLINTON IS THE MAN!!!

  • I don't really like Bill that much as a person, but he did quite well as president.

  • Hitchens is a pimp for the iraq war.

  • "hes a horrible primate"

    lol

  • "I don't feel my mammalian sweetness is required." It is Hitchens' talents as a wordsmith I find most endearing.

  • I know I would to be talented like him in that department.

  • Hitchens is absolutely right about "the rage of the entitled." Hillary felt like it was her turn to be president, and Michele Obama feels it is her race that is entitled to the presidency. Typical Liberal thought process. "Let's all take turns and get equal time to shine... qualification/ electability is moot."

  • bloods or crypts. Take your pick.

  • EXACTLY. We have our choice of which group of disgusting bought-and-paid-for thugs we'd like. The best we can hope for is that the executive branch's party won't match the legislative branch's. TOTAL DISASTER. It totally sucks that THERE ARE NO GOOD GUYS. It's not even a lesser of two evils, it's what TYPE of evil.

  • its funny that people are just now deciding to pipe up about the evils of politics. who was the lesser of two evils in the last election? Or the election before that? I think that due to the fact that the republicans are SO far gone in this political race. The republican based media has decided to let it be known that politics in general are.. shady at best. Personally i feel that Obamas policies make sense and it most definitely is the lesser of the two evils.

  • but evil all the same. And i happen to be west sieeeeede! Crypts fo life!

  • Yeah I agree that a large part of the media is very sympathetic to a right wing agenda and corporate interests, and the Republican party is almost rotten to the core.

But wouldn't you agree it would be a lot easier for these powerful companies if they controlled both "sides" of politics? Just look at Obama's celebrity status: when a politician is so popular based on WHO he is, he's much more inclined to shape his policies in power's favor, and take your vote for granted. Cause it was.

  • 'There was Ron Paul! ' And Ron Paul was really good, its to bad that Hillary Clitin bitch cheated and made it so a lot of his votes did not get counted.

  • This was just a platform for him to criticize people. Still like him though. Balls the size of grapefruits.

  • boo hoo he doesnt like Obama. Tell it to someone who cares

  • Hitchens spoke with Laura Ingraham and changed his tune...he likes O more than mccain now

  • Don't take it too out of context, though. He tolerates Obama only because McCain and Palin are pathetic.

  • my god hitchens is entertaining.this from someone who pukes with indignation at half of the things he says.

  • Very sexy women.

  • im a republican and im sad that mccain was the best republican choice.

and im glad that now even the stupid people are realizing how dangerous it is to pick someone like sarah palin as the vice president for a 72 year old cancer survivor.

  • I respect Christopher Hitchens. He has no reservations in using his free mind and ignores partisan discussion. Instead he discusses what he REALLY thinks about whatever or whoever is being discussed, and in this case he had plenty of good things to say of both parties' candidates.

  • if Mccain dies, then we get stuck with Palin....just think about that before you vote. Thank you.

  • well then we just have to hope for the best he doesn't. Otherwise, imagine a faceoff between Palin and Putin, who you think will have the upper hand.

  • if it were a fist fight I'd say Palin, she's one tough cookie soccer mom.

  • but don't forget putin is a judo blackbelt

  • lmao

    are you retarded

  • for what?? and this is coming from someone who cant even bother to use correct punctuation? yes I'm clearly the moronic one here.

  • if we are going to fuck around like that then you've got 2 incomplete sentences there honey

  • what a retorical question?? that has nothing to do with asking a REAL question and forgetting to put a question mark there. You look like a dumbass. And how am I retarded btw? you've not given me any proof. Because I think Palin would make a bad president? sorry but she's inexperienced, and slightly closed off to things outside of her life. I really don't think a president like that is going to lead us out of this shitty economy.

  • Hockey mom you terrorist!

  • the thing that scares me is people do think about it and still go with mccain palin.

most OF MY FELLOW AMERICANS DDONT PAY ATTENTION TO SHIT AND THINK PALIN CAN DO IT.

SHE WILL BE THE END OF AMERICA OR AT LEAST OF AMERICA AS WE KNOW IT

  • agreed my mom being one of them, she thinks Mccain and Palin are both mediocre candidates but she "always votes republican" despite the fact that we're poor as shit.

  • thats insanity.

    same with my parents.

my question is, shouldnt it be about america and not the republican or democratic party winning?

  • agreed and its not that I'm anti republican I really do agree with them on some things. I think that people should be accountable for themselves and that business really does help our economy. But its too flawed right now. We need someone who will clean up the mess, think about things before he does them, that's Obama. I mean I just watched the debate and am convinced that Obama actually has a plan about fixing Am, the war, economy, foreign relations whereas Mccain doesn't.

  • if you watch the debates and dont think that they are just lying to look good then im scared.

voting records should be what you judge them on because thats proof of what they actually believe.

i think both candidates are a bad choice but im picking obama because hes the best choice of the bullshit we have

  • OH NO Obviously they're trying to look good, but imo Obama comes off as more real.

  • he definatley does. mccain pulls the same bullshit smile after he thinks me made a good point or comparason

  • arghh I've noticed that and Palin is an absolute joke, did you see how pitiful she was during the debate tonight?? I mean she answered no questions, talked about her family most of the time, said stupid catchphrases over and over again. Not only that but demeaned Biden's character, saying only women understand the struggle of parenting, in which Biden managed to put her in her place, not once but twice and single handedly stole the emotional appeal of the audience.

  • im actually suprised how good she did. i was hoping for something like her interviews. haha

  • see but she didn't do good, she made intellectual errors, named the wrong general, talked endlessly about nothing. She didn't even answer the questions she actually said, let's talk about something else. She came off as incredibly fake and tried to suck up to us, it was pitiful.

  • you just explained what they both did, and i agree with you... and that was better than i expected from her

  • I actually expected her to be like that, I'm surprised that people are surprised.

  • indeed, and thats essentially the reason hitchens endorsed obama a few days ago.

  • yeah I read that article, he didn't pull any punches lol just what I love about him.

  • exactly - groups should be very careful in claiming hitchens - because at the end of the day, all that eloquent venom is going to splatter across anyone who opposes his fiercely rational world view - and it won't discriminate, or spare you just because you're in a particular group.

  • oh no he has enough hate to go around for everyone, its fascinating to watch, he's like an intellectual pit bull.

  • and a pitbull with a keen intellect is so much more appealing, and refreshing than a pitbull with lipstick.

  • lol indeed.

  • If Obama dies we get stuck with a delusional Zionist Jew.

  • its better than a person who thinks living close to a desolate part of russia is foreign policy training.

oh yea and she doesnt even know what the bush doctrine is!!!!!!! you need ot be smart so your not stupid.

im a republican but i put my country before my partie so i not voting republican this election

  • I'm voting third party because neither of the candidates or their running mates have the interest of the people in mind.

  • that blonde looks so intimidated and subconsciously turned on by Hitchens.

  • This coutry is Retarded. Some people are saying support the troops? Actually the troops take orders. What you retards are really saying is something about supporting the retarded USA President / retarded Pentagon and the retarded USA Congress, not the troops.

  • We love you, Christopher Hitchens!

    Never surrender.

  • LOL I love Chris Hitchens

  • What's the woman is the red dress' problem? Is she stooooned?

  • That chick's a hottie

  • We love you, Christopher Hitchens!

  • Pathetic. George Galloway owned no one. I see he's scared to debate Mr. Hitchens these days. Probably due to fear of prosecution. It's only a matter of time... you can join him.

  • NukeFascistAmerica, are you some crass spotty semi-educated teenager? I think you are. Perhaps you are in love with the rebabarbative Islamo-fascist-loving George Galloway, or "gorgeous George" as we used to call him in Glasgow. I'd prefer to borrow Christopher Hitchens' description of Bill Clinton and apply it to Galloway: a disgusting primate.

  • Galloway is a joke. He wore a red leotard and did a robot dance with a fixed stare.

He went down on all fours and pretended to be cat drinking milk.

    He praised Saddam Hussein.

  • i was hoping hitchens would tell who he'll likely be voting for

  • Well he did point out that neither should be president! He's either independent or will cast a vote of no confidence like every knowledgeable American should, problem is the term knowledgeable American have become the gravest oxymoron, much to the chagrin of the rest of the country!

  • Wait... is Obama seriously in trouble with white working class America? I'm white, I have a job, and I support Obama. Most of the other "white working class" people I know feel the same way too. I'm not sure what "white working class" she was talking about.

If she meant blue-collar working class, then I might be able to agree.

  • Maybe you didn't know that the democrats do not consider you working class if you are not a blue collar union worker.

  • I'm a Democrat, but Hitchens accusuing McCain of being a poser is not fair. McCain served, unlike Bush, was captured, tortured (let's see how long HItchens could endure the same torture), and went on to oppose torture of POWs in opposition to Bush. The "elderly" references are not fair, and everyone is jumping on it. Not a fair move. Yes, the Bush slime machine wasn't fair, but McCain isn't Bush.

  • I think by that he meant McCain was 95% in agreement with Bush according to his voting record. The elderly reference was perfectly fair, we all know how fast a president's appearance and health diminishes during their term. I can't even imagine how decrepit McCain would look in 4 years if he even made it that long. It would just be unfair to him as a human being to put him through something like that.

  • Iolla, I'm scurd, bitch

  • republicans can't spell

  • Dare we all think of how Obama slightly resembles a Hitler figure?? People just blindly love him despite all of his socialist polocies. He definatley resembles Marxist tendencies. There is no argument against this if you actually listen to what this man says. I certainly don't like McCain, but this just proves that 98% of U.S. voters are TOTAL morons. How else could we end up with two totally un-electable candidates? Hmmm?

  • Cleveland5150, there is a saying. Presidents are like diapers, they're full of shit and they need to be changed frequently.

All of the candidates are full of shit, one way or another....anybody who tells me one candidate is the answer (as some Ron Paul groupies do) is also full of shit.

  • With that said, you can either sit out the election (which is not encouraged) or you can pick one who you think is the least full of shit and vote for him. My vote goes to Obama, just for entertainment purposes. It's gonna be fun watching the white, conservative media forces Shitting in their pants when the black guy they despise gets elected.

  • Cleveland is right. Most Americans (most PEOPLE)are MORONS when comes to politics and political issues. They just want to go to work, come home, and VEGETATE on whatever little mundane life they live.I am SO disappointed with "my people" here in America.Today's Democrats are DEADLY for this nation and very very few realise this today.Liberals are such absolute MORONS, but, with the press and mainstream media at their side,Americans won't receive the proper facts to base their decisions/votes on.

  • Dude needs to lose some weight.

  • ha say that to his face, and he'll rip you a new ass hole.

  • hehe I think Christopher Hitchens is right with most everything he says, but just for a change of pace I'd like to listen to something where he speaks in glowing positive terms about someone or something!

  • 1:50-1:52 WTF is she doing trying to eye him up or something?

  • Take notes everyone,

    This is how you troll.

  • Hitchens is right on the money as usual. Man oh man. It's going to be so hard for me to vote for either one of these candidates.

  • I'm doing what ever it takes to keep the Republicans out of office. As a patriot, i can only watch them screw up everything for our country so much before i, out of moral compass, must give the other guy a shot. If people vote to reelect this crap they prove that they have no standards for their country. Political parties need to know that they have to do a good job in office to stay there.

  • Was this directed by the guys from Wonder Showzen or something?

  • The ridiculous graphics on this show make it seem very below Hitchens.

  • Yes, they are cartoon-like (in appearance and feel). It's a bit jaring to change between that and speech. Add to that the fact that the male host sounds like a sports announcer and the topic seems a bit too grown up for them. This is all quite fixable though so I don't mean to be too negative -- that's just my take on it.

  • Whatever 'hipness factor' it is that this show is trying to capture is positively infantilizing. It's like Fox News on PBS. I like Hitch (although I think his swipe at Hyde Park, Chicago is ludicrous & intellectually dishonest), but this show makes him look better than he even deserves to look. The fawning interviewers praise as 'contrarian' the voicing of opinions that have the distinction simply of being well-formulated!

  • McCain is an old fool who has no real political talent, and Hillary is a crass and snotty wench. Obama like Clinton has lots of flair and charisma, but is something of a shithead personally, and like Clinton has a dippy wife who should stay the fuck out of politics. I almost had to take a shower when Obama's wife said on TV in response to the supposed threat of assassination to her husband "barack is a black man so he could get shot going to the gas station", spoiled empty headed bitch.

  • Hitchens is dead on correct in his assessments.

  • Yes, i despair of there being a candidate who i actually like any time soon. Voting has become choosing "the lesser of two evils" as it were.

  • hitchens is king

  • I love this guy! He should be president.

  • Nah, he's a heavy drinker.

  • meh, whats wrong with that? Add a bit of intrest wouldn't it?

  • Bill Clinton is a primate! LOL!

  • well he is, so are we

  • Couldn't agree more about the similarities between Hillary and Michelle. Highly entitled and damn pissed off about it. But then, what do you expect from a "victim"?

They use their victim status to claim the moral high ground and to bully their way to even more wealth and power.

God help us if Obama wins. Another 8 years with a big-mouthed egotistical spouse running wild, inserting herself into political issues where she doesn't belong, and hectoring us about our "crimes".

  • So you agree he's a rapist then? ;)

  • LOL

I'd like to add. "Takes one to know one". ;)

  • ron paul was the only hope usa had and now there is no hope

  • Bill clinton is a rapist and a racist.
