  • happy Birthday, Mr. Grant!! <3

  • Sir Laurence Olivier said that Cary Grant was the greatest film actor of the 20th century because he behaved for the camera eye. So very true.

  • Cary Grant is soooo sexy...Therefore I could do without the pornoesque music in the background TCM.

  • Cary Grant was voted the quintessential movie star of all time in a poll some years ago, and it is hard to argue the point. "North by Northwest" and "To Catch A Thief" are unsurpassed entertainments and examples of Hitch at his finest - but one cannot imagine either of these films without Grant himself. Not only was Grant handsome, talented and charming, one got the sense that he never took himself too seriously - as so many stars do today.

  • Oh my, that fact at 1:53 (sigh)!

  • He is so fantastic... Favorite actor ever!

  • A Tribute to Cary Grant ------> youtube.com/watch?v=unkP7hRIniA

  • If another documentary should ever be made on Cary Grant, I think it should be entitled, "Cary Grant: The Quintessential Leading Man."

  • My favorite actor of all time !

  • that makes a lot of sense. as a guy, i'm not threatened by cary grant, even though he seems like a distant social class and significantly more good-looking than me, there is like that common man too, he would have probably been a really cool guy to meet

  • Thanks so much for posting this! It's great!

  • Cary Grant Classic Actor and truly one of the greats!!!!!

  • which background score is played in this video?

  • i didn't know how awesome and yet relatable Carey Grant was until now. he seems like he was a genuine guy and charming in a way you don't see nowadays from famous actors.

  • Handsome & Suave...

  • Do you have Night and day starring Cary Grant?

  • Cary didn't win an Oscar because the movie moguls HATED him for being the FIRST actor to be an independent bargaining for his own movies and wages outside of a slave contract to a studio or union. So he barely got nominations accepted and forget getting selected. He only got a career award because his own contemporary actors got into the Academy power system an demanded he get recognized. How Hepburn in her obnoxious to studioheads got 4 Oscars is due to her being just too damn good.

  • @92af Deliberatley typing the same line on Cary Grant tribute pages makes you a very sad person. Get a life and get lost while you are at it.

  • Certainly one of the best actors of all times....handsome, elegant, sophisticated, and very talented.

  • @emiliakatz The suavest of all time.

  • @jimmbo13 You are certainly right I forgot to mention "suave". Without doubt his best attribute.

  • Cary Grant is one of the best American Actor of all Time.

  • my favorite movie star. He is the best! Thanks for posting this

  • the world will never see another grant. he was the number one of all times.

  • Elegant man. I miss his talent.

  • The most beautiful man ever and he could act.

  • Hey, ForAnimalsSake-stop hating michael caine! Its part of the story, it wouldnt make sense if he didnt say all of that!

  • He was also one of the few that bucked the studio system and went his own way, writing his own contracts. This is one of the reasons he had to wait so long for an Oscar. Great strength of character. I have a silly wish. I would love to know if he could still speak his (and mine) home town Bristol dialect. Just imagine, Cary Grant speaking like Vicky Pollard!

  • Insanely handsome chap.

  • The greatest body of work in acting history!!!

  • He was a freak of nature...genetically its so improbable to look as handsome as he did!

  • My all time favorite actor. He was flawless.

  • @RMS1103 I 100% AGREE.i ADORE HIM.

  • Timeless.

  • The best actor. EVER.

  • superbo, attori .....destinazione...hollywood...grazie del video...francesco.-

  • I think I'll just enjoy the visuals; don't like M Caine's voice at all

  • If todays actors even think they are as good as Cary Grant, they should apologize.

  • Cary is something! Love him and bend down before him. He is so cute!!!And great actor.

  • which are the songs we here on this clip?

  • and you are waekminded, my silly friend!

  • sorry "weakminded"

    Olaf hamburg Germ.

  • HarveyCartwright...my Mamma didn't raise no stupid children...but yours sure did...rabid dogs are usually put to sleep...maybe a trip to the vet is what's called for in your case...then we'd all be spared the ravings of a pathetic loser. Viva ASW88....great job....many thanks.

  • Poor harvey, your parents must have been neanderthals and you need psychiatirc enclosure.

Cary did have hepatitis once and was very ill. He stopped smoking mid life and only started under the pressure of the times and hollywood the whore of advertising. He hardly drank. I know all this and more as a fact as he dated my mother 1960 and we were friends most of my life. He was kind, caring, funny and always a perfect gentleman.

  • now harvey, are you really this pathetic. if he was gay whats the problem? are you that scared of life? just chill the fuck out

  • This compilation is awesome, ty :)

  • Love him

  • Cary Grant would have made a great James Bond.....

  • Nah, he was too old.

  • @sat233238 I find it amazing that no one has pointed this out to you, but Ian Fleming had Cary Grant in mind when he created James Bond, at least, somewhat. They wanted Cary Grant to play Bond, but he refused, saying that he felt he was too old. I do agree, though. Cary Grant would have been an amazing Bond.

  • Do you have a problem with that?

  • no he was n´t

  • hello there, no I dont thing so; he was married 5 times and one of his woman Betsy Drake, says that they have sex all the time; maybe he was be, but I dont thing so; or do have

    any real proofs

  • gay????

and she was very unlucky with him:

    I have seen that TV-Snap

In a 2004 interview for the Turner Classic Movies production, Cary Grant: A Class Apart, Grant's third wife, Betsy Drake, commented, "Why would I believe that Cary was homosexual when we were busy fucking? Maybe he was bisexual. He lived 43 years before he met me. I don't know what he did."[23]

  • she was 85 years old; why should she lying;

and by the way real gay man could have love with a woman, even making a child

I think he was in way be but never let it out

  • Cary Grant filed suit against the reported who claimed that he was gay. Grant won!

The man didn't have a gay bone in his perfect body. It's wrong to spread rumors about someone that you NEVER KNEW PERSONALLY.

Please, leave the mans good name alone and enjoy his movies.

  • You act as if being gay is something bad. He wasn't ashamed of his lover R.Scott.

  • U r going 2 believe what u want 2 believe.However,Cary,died on Nov. 29, 1986, he was 82,so your theory of his drinking himself 2 death by age 44 doesn't fly.

He & Scott were roommates that's all.And now your claiming he was a child molester as well.I hope someone in his family sees this so they can sue your butt. You are way out of line with your slanderous remarks on a man who cannot defend himself.

    U R A HORRIBLE PERSON!!!!

  • sorry my fault, of course "think" in stead of thing;

  • I'll ask again, do you have a problem with that?

  • non I don t but HarveyCartwright

  • Sure adolf10, I know, I was asking HarveyCartwright.

  • First of all, every knows that Cary Grant was not gay. I did notice the number of times that you have returned to this site. What this shows is that you are having a male sexual identity problem. If you want to be gay that is your affair, but don't be annoying by showing us your problem!

  • HarveyCartwright.. Whether he was or wasn't, that has... What? to do with you? And I suppose you're more talented? Won Oscars? Have fans by the millions? You obviously only commenting to piss people off, well congratulations, you are officially an arsehole.

  • Honerary oscar.

  • Greatest Leading man in my book!

  • cary grant was totally original- and no one has shown his quality in comedy since

  • The "handsomest" guy who ever lived.

  • Thank you for posting these tributes!!! I love TCM so much! Do you have the tribute that was done for Monty Clift? I've been searching for that forever.

  • A class act. Loved his movies, loved the man, loved this tribute to a great actor. Thank you for posting.

  • I LOVE Notorious 100X better than Casablanca.

Bogart & Bergman were good, but Grant & Bergman were SMOKIN'!

Kudos to Hitchock, Hecht, Ingrid, Cary, Claude & Madame Konstantin.

  • IngridBergmanRocked - I totally agree. I have watched Casablanca twice, and it sad to say that I got bored with both times. However, Notorious is my favorite movie ever. I have seen it 1000X and can't get enough of it. The chemistry b/w Cary and Ingrid is breath taking. It was my first real DVD that I have bought. LOVE NOTORIOUS & CARY GRANT OBSESSIVELY.

    T

  • I think Notorious was a way better movie than Casablanca.. Bogart is a great leading man but I just like how Cary always plays the confident, self-controled gentlemen who frustrates women into chasing him.. thats something u dont see often in movies today

  • Ha ha.

Really? I like "Berserk". Now, "Family Plot", THAT was a stinker. He was definitely a weirdo though.

Are you a fan of "Arsenic & Old Lace"?

  • No wait, "Frenzy", he he, you tripped me up.

  • rich: Me too. Possibly Grant's, Reins', Bergman's & maybe even Hitchcock's finest moment.

  • Thank you so much it's amazing! I adore Cary and also Michael talking about him!

  • That was wonderful, Cary Grant is truly amazing!

  • There's this one movie moment.. this kiss between Cary Grant and Irene Dunne in Penny Serenade.. when he's just out of the water and dripping wet and leaning into her with her back against the building... that kiss has such chemistry that it makes me catch my breath... and it's so overlooked in movie moments. I'm going to try to upload it.

  • The best actor of all times!!!!!!

  • @ecoke69

They're are rumours who said he was gay or biseksual (living with Randolph Scott for 12 years). I must say that his acting does show some feminine touches. But...who the hell cares? Maybe he teased the media about it or he was himself not sure about it. I think he's one of the best actors in Hollywood: funny, impeccable timing, incredibly physical acting (from his vaudeville days) and very diverse roles. Yes, he was really a good actor and a stand out persona. He made it look so easy!

  • @ecoke69 step it , best guy ever. i would love to be half as cool as this guy

  • I love Cary Grant!!!! So charming.

  • thank you!

  • the guy was gud lukin, charmin, classy, witty& a whole lot more. The Complete package. What a deadly combination

  • Great!!

I don't have enough words to thank the uploader.

  • me too, it´s simply marvelous how M.Caine describes C.Grant and to my mind lookng back C.G. is much underrated to other film stars.

And none of the new Stars, soory George Clooney, you a good one, has this class.

  • Excellent clip. Thanks

  • My respect for both Michael Caine and Cary Grant just doubled.
