What's great about Watchmen is that it shows superheroes in private lives and with self distance. Normally in comics, they're only playing roles. But Watchmen doesn't appear to be a parody or satire of superheroes. It's more sophisticated than that.
In the letter section one of his first issues on Swamp Thing, Mr. Moore described himself (talking in third person) as someone who, when grown old, would resemble Father Christmas's evil twin.
I can't tell if his shirt says "Say Yes To Drugs" or "Say Yo To Drugs" but I like it either way. Thanks for this clip, I'm reading through Moore's run of ST right now and loving it. There's plenty of stories about tragic monsters, it's great to see a "monster" really open up into a new kind of creature as well as remaining sort of human still.

Moores take on Swamp Thing was a bore. Swamp Thing used to kick ass, but thanks to Moore, all he does is sit on his ass. TALK, TALK ,TALK thats all brits do. Moores ideas wre indeed revolutionary and different. But there are some of us who think Swamp Thing wasnt broken before Alan Moore.
Very cool. PoG was the BEST TV show ever -- for every comics fan who ever dreamed that there would be a TV show about comics, chances are it probably would have been a lot like PoG.
I really wish Moore and Bissete hadn't had their falling out over the interview Bissete gave in
The Comics Journal and that Moore and Bissete would do something else together, Their take on Swamp Thing was one of the all time greats, I remember as a kid I first saw one of their ST comics on the shelf in a shop, I thought "Oh my god, What is this?" It changed my life forever.
Interesting video; thank you for posting this.
At the time of this video, Bissette believed that he/they introduced
Swamp Thing being able to re-generate lost limbs.
Hopefully he has actually read Lein, and Wrightson's classic
run by now, and realized that that was not true.

Neil Gaiman once described him as "a hairy Yeti!" I guess that's close.

Thanks for that Brad. I love all these YouTube clips that seem to predate mass internet communication. It's great to see these old VHS bits.

Alan Moore's wrong - I was queuing behind SwampThing in the Post Office last week. He was buying some stamps.
