Im very interested in buying one. Haven't yet test driven one. What's it like when you put the foot down? A couple of turbo cars I've driven tend to put you in the back of the seat..but I'm worried the MR2 might not do this? Not sure why seeing as I am after a 93+ GT version, preferably with the hardtop or sunroof.
Is any particular year best for MR2turbo???? Like some say 1995 USA M3 is better, because of OBD1, easy to modify, but I found out myself 1996/97/early98 is best e36 M3. Yes OBD2 is hard to modify, but it was, now one can buy anything. OBD1 M3 has 3.0L iron block, OBD2 3.2L full alloy, & head is much better, like valves, springs, cams, also rods & crank are forged. Electronics x10 better too. Late 1998/99, e36 M3 suddenly got thirsty 19-26mpg from 20-28mpg on 1997 M3.
just buy anything from 93-95 as the suspension was changed, so it's more driver friendly, as the 91-92 tend to oversteer and spin out with almost no warning.
Thanks! One more thing, what problems should one look when buying the MR2? Let's say if it has ~60K miles, what are the weak points of the car? Again on e36 M3 W-pump was very dodgy, plastic impeler could break w/out warning, even on engines with 40K miles... How about if you put coilovers on '91 MR2?

you can have hardtop - t-top or hard top with sunroof / and for japan there was a full convertable version with folding roof
