i don't think he's Cambodian because he was born in surin that is one province in northeast of Thailand. Surin is a border province that close to Cambodia so some people in Surin might speak Cambodian.

Hi Kmangsren: I totally agree with you. Khmer Surin are happy under Thai citizen. I am so proud of you that you are still keeping Khmer culture alive. Prime Hun Sen said a few times, Kampuchea has no intention of getting Surin back. In my opinion, who ever dream of getting Surin back are out of touch with reality. This is 21st century, Kampuchea and Thailand are members of United Nations, they have to abide by the international laws.

um where you get this info i wander? Surin or thailand was never belonged or colonized by the French or any western powers during the colonialism period. HOwever, Laos and combodia both were belong to thailand around 1700's - 1860's. Thailand is diversity much like any other countries around the world. Altho thai, laos, cambodia share so much in commons. Too bad we're brothers by blood. But Western countries broke us apart.

He is Khmer, and he doesn't have to be from Kampuchea to be a real Khmer. Even King Jayavarman II came from Java to Kambuja to establish the Khmer Empire. I agree with Kmangsren, no matter where you are from keep the Khmer culture alive.

LOL just because you are born in Thailand doesnt mean you are automatically a Thai citizen. Trust me I know. Thailand will only grant you citizenship solely on if your father was born in Thailand. Mother being born is Thailand doesn't even count. SO yes he might have been born in Thailand and Thais are claiming him because hes the new "hot " thing. For Tony, its all about politics I think. He knows the money is there if he plays along and give the Thai what they want to hear and see.
