People could argue that Robinson was greater because he spent most of his career beating bigger fighters, and his record was astonishing, and I agree with most of it. Robinson set the standard. Roy Jones was the most gifted boxer ever but I'd still put Floyd above him because of the breadth and depth of his skill. It's a great argument to have though. haha

How many intelligent, quick witted and politically aware boxers have you EVER seen before or since?? The likes of Mayweather and Tyson are laughable. Muhammed Ali was more than a boxer, he was an icon and voice for oppressed black americans and used his talents as a platform for this. He transcended his sport and created a legacy that will never be forgotten. He IS the greatest.

@panzerson2 I include him in that statement too. Floyd is the ultimate master of boxing. Before him it was Robinson. People could argue that Robinson was greater because he spent most of his career beating bigger fighters, and his record was astonishing, and I agree with most of it. Robinson set the standard. Roy Jones was the most gifted boxer ever but I'd still put Floyd above him because of the breadth and depth of his skill. It's a great argument to have though. haha
