@jsbknaver Good for you to discover this wonderful music! It's not only a part of history, but truly soothing, cultural, and never to be forgotton - take it from me.....
I love medieval music. Despite of the country I'm from (Brazil) has nothing whatsoever to do with middle ages, it seems this kind of music touches directly my soul. I just can't explain why!!!
Love thsi music, it connects me so much with my religion, im Wiccan, and my ancestors.....Love this music, it fills me with joy and gives me Visions of my past lives and my ancestors playing and dancing to this kind of music...
i wasn't born in the wrong century...i rather have the chance to hear this kind of songs in medieval fairs than being in the 15th century full of hunger and not listening to this at all! Because the chance of being someone with power in those times and having the privilage to hear one of those things live was really small
@MODYDIAZ Lol that was when the rich and powerful really *were* the '1%'. 99% of people were peasants. It wasn't until the 17th century the development of the banking system evolved and the class of merchants and businessmen thrived. And thus society was suddenly saved from the dark ages with the renaissance >.<
1 reason why not to go back to Medieval age?....hmm i dont know...Plague meaby?......wars...what else...no education...slavery.but lets be honest.Music and drinking was good.
I found most of this music on the Album called, Portals of Grace by Azam Ali.
You know, we may not need a time machine. We can just start redirecting everyone's attention to this type of music again. I have a ton of ancient music on my Ipod and love it.
The 1st song in the vid is called, afaik, "Herr Olof", and is supposedly a traditional Swedish tune (as far as Brana Keterna mentions it on their webpage, they've played their own arrangement of this tune as well)
@trulymadlyloveFF - I'm (kinda) with hpatdh077 - you can enjoy the music in *this* century, just without dying of syphilis / the plague / dyssentry. Plus the internet was a LOOOT slower back then.
I find it strange that medieval music, is produced in more quantity now, than back in the middle ages, and also more people hear to it now, because of 7 billion population and internet...which means it's not medieval music anymore...but actual music...so no use feeling bad for not being living in the past...."medieval" music, is today :)
everyone would like to live in the medieval times. But diseases were all around, the average age back then was 30 -40 years old!!just keep this melody in ur mind and live the present~~
I would have liked to live a much simpler life back in the Medieval Era.. It was not that it was 'simpler'.. It was life, indeed. Imagine, doing anything that really mattered. But, I just saw somebody posting about a game called 'Skyrim'. I'm being no douche, or any intention to.. But, really? Referencing everything to a damn video game? Where is your intelligence? Why couldn't you have anything else as a reference? ... There is freedom of speech, indeed. I'm expressing mine as he expressed his.
@TheFieryHawk Its simple... The first thing that comes to mind for everyone is different. The first thing that came to my mind was a game too, this is because there is music on that certain game which sounds alike to this. But yeah i can understand your opinion and he is obviously a gamer or something like that. I am too :/
@TheFieryHawk it might remind some people of the game, but that isn't really a bad thing, in fact the game Skyrim is heavily based on medieval Norse culture, the music, the architecture, and the myths. So in a way, the music reminding people of a game isn't a bad thing. The people playing it just don't realize that the game actually has some historical value.
@trulymadlyloveFF Thank the gods that you where born in this century now you can enjoy all the musics of the world and be able to brush your teath. =)

@lilgirlloves I agree with you, also if it wasn't for this music half of this music today would sort of just be a piece of dust in the wind. This is what created music.
@kingaxron don't betray me mate,I respect the dutch you must know where i'm coming from especially if what I tell you, dont listen to that fool hes probably never left scandinavia.
@NoPointProduction if you want to know the reason for my views then you will understand, you on xbox live or psn because after what I tell you, you will understand. People call me racist, yet im half Irish and have heard abuse against me my whole life but Inever call anyone racist for it.Its there opinion,so you like every country in the world do you?.If not you are racist too.Everyones racist in some way grow up and live in the real world.Yes we are the same race your an ARYAN and so am I.
@KingRyan7 Mocking on someone for being half Irish isn't racism, it's stupidity. Of course I don't like all the countries in the world. But that doesn't mean I hate their people.
Also I think the race you're looking for is Caucasian, as the "Aryan race" is not a race, it's a concept. Also, dividing humans into races is just stupid. Research says we all come from Africa, we're all the same race; Homo Sapiens.
@NoPointProduction omfg! how can you justify what happened hundred years ago in the modern day world,so we should let them spread there corrupt culture in thisonce great country,I bet your some deluded scandinavian, which insults me even more because we are both the same race.Try liviving here when everything people from English decendant fault for got betryed and it ruined my familys lives.
@KingRyan7 Are you serious? You're obviously one over proud self justifying Brit finding your own culture superior towards other. Yes, I am a Scandinavian, in fact Norwegian. You don't think we have a lot of immigrants? Still we do very fine. Our politics and culture are very alike. What you're saying make no sense. First of all, we're not the same race. You're obviously from the race of douchebags. I, on the other hand, share the race of human beings. People aren't divided in races. Racist.
@NoPointProduction you are a moron if you believe we have the same culture, politics, history, have you even travelled I have and we are completely different, your comments are stupid therefore not worth wasting my energy on.
@KingRyan7 First of all, I don't think you know where I'm from. If you knew you wouldn't called me a moron. Though I said you were partners in the Napoleonic wars, I didn't mention on which side.
And how dare you complain on Africans invading your country when you were the first one to do it against them? You ruined their countries, and when you were done you created new borders causing conflicts up to this date. Now, who's being a moron?
@NoPointProduction wtf? we were against Napolian in the war ie, why the french hate us and we hate them. The allies we made were by royal marriage and that wasn't political was it to stop war,you only have to look at henry 8th to know that.WW1 and WW2 we entered to help other countries, which especially WW2 we regret cause we have let aload of useless africans in who are affecting our culture.
@Dorkus89Malorkus you have just proved my point, get a map of the world out then look at the continent Europe, then look at Britain. As you will see they are not connected. The only way we are european is through politics. Most English people want us removed from europe because we dont like them.I have loads of American friends who baffle me with what they have been taught so I know.
@KingRyan7 Throughout history England and Great Britain fought and made allies in Europe. You were one of the key partners in the Napoleonic Wars, WW1 and WW2, the biggest armed conflicts ever taken place in Europe. And do I have to mention the 100 years war?
Would you say Svalbard, Malta, Sicily, Sardinia and Ireland aren't parts of Europe? And how about Iceland, which is even further away than you? UK is, through culture, politics, geography and history part of Europe. Period.
@NoPointProduction holland and brittain where like brothers in hard times they where allies but in ''free time'' the rivality was enormus like the dutch navy sailed op the theimes and burned londen down and brittain boycoting dutch spice and slave trade! fun fact william of orange was also a short time ruler of england!
@kingaxron Only proves Britain's involvement in Europe. I state Kingryan7 as a racist, as I think you'd agree with. Calling African cultures for corrupt, even being insulted for being the "same race", show no empathic boundaries.
I want to go back to the middle ages and live just for the fun of it. Even though I would die 30 minutes after arriving. it still would be SO worth it. :)
I met my first girlfriend dancing to this. it became our song. But her father wouldn't let her marry a dung collector. Lucky I didn't tell him I had plague.
I don't see why people feel the need to be smart alecky about how conditions were poor when others express a desire to live in the Middle Ages. I think a desire to live in another time period stems from a fascination with people and cultures of the past; we enjoy learning about them so much that we wish we could experience them for ourselves. It doesn't mean that we're blind to the negative aspects of that time period; it just means we're especially drawn to the good ones.
@Phantomwillcullen I agree. But the last thing you said basically means that we choose to be blind towards the negative aspects. A robot or computer would weigh them against each other and see how it was, not how we choose to see it.
@Phantomwillcullen ok then have fun being struck by disease, having a life expectation of 30 years to 40 years old, experiencing cruel rulers, being cold and hungry...its not like a video game or a movie...it sucked back then you wannabe homo boy

KingRyan7 2 months ago
@KingRyan7 Mocking on someone for being half Irish isn't racism, it's stupidity. Of course I don't like all the countries in the world. But that doesn't mean I hate their people.
Also I think the race you're looking for is Caucasian, as the "Aryan race" is not a race, it's a concept. Also, dividing humans into races is just stupid. Research says we all come from Africa, we're all the same race; Homo Sapiens.
Also, I've been outside Scandinavia, thank you.
NoPointProduction 2 months ago
@NoPointProduction omfg! how can you justify what happened hundred years ago in the modern day world,so we should let them spread there corrupt culture in thisonce great country,I bet your some deluded scandinavian, which insults me even more because we are both the same race.Try liviving here when everything people from English decendant fault for got betryed and it ruined my familys lives.
KingRyan7 2 months ago
@KingRyan7 Are you serious? You're obviously one over proud self justifying Brit finding your own culture superior towards other. Yes, I am a Scandinavian, in fact Norwegian. You don't think we have a lot of immigrants? Still we do very fine. Our politics and culture are very alike. What you're saying make no sense. First of all, we're not the same race. You're obviously from the race of douchebags. I, on the other hand, share the race of human beings. People aren't divided in races. Racist.
NoPointProduction 2 months ago
@NoPointProduction you are a moron if you believe we have the same culture, politics, history, have you even travelled I have and we are completely different, your comments are stupid therefore not worth wasting my energy on.
KingRyan7 2 months ago
@KingRyan7 First of all, I don't think you know where I'm from. If you knew you wouldn't called me a moron. Though I said you were partners in the Napoleonic wars, I didn't mention on which side.
And how dare you complain on Africans invading your country when you were the first one to do it against them? You ruined their countries, and when you were done you created new borders causing conflicts up to this date. Now, who's being a moron?
NoPointProduction 2 months ago
@NoPointProduction wtf? we were against Napolian in the war ie, why the french hate us and we hate them. The allies we made were by royal marriage and that wasn't political was it to stop war,you only have to look at henry 8th to know that.WW1 and WW2 we entered to help other countries, which especially WW2 we regret cause we have let aload of useless africans in who are affecting our culture.
KingRyan7 2 months ago
@Dorkus89Malorkus you have just proved my point, get a map of the world out then look at the continent Europe, then look at Britain. As you will see they are not connected. The only way we are european is through politics. Most English people want us removed from europe because we dont like them.I have loads of American friends who baffle me with what they have been taught so I know.
KingRyan7 2 months ago
@KingRyan7 Throughout history England and Great Britain fought and made allies in Europe. You were one of the key partners in the Napoleonic Wars, WW1 and WW2, the biggest armed conflicts ever taken place in Europe. And do I have to mention the 100 years war?
Would you say Svalbard, Malta, Sicily, Sardinia and Ireland aren't parts of Europe? And how about Iceland, which is even further away than you? UK is, through culture, politics, geography and history part of Europe. Period.
NoPointProduction 2 months ago
@NoPointProduction holland and brittain where like brothers in hard times they where allies but in ''free time'' the rivality was enormus like the dutch navy sailed op the theimes and burned londen down and brittain boycoting dutch spice and slave trade! fun fact william of orange was also a short time ruler of england!
kingaxron 2 months ago
@kingaxron Only proves Britain's involvement in Europe. I state Kingryan7 as a racist, as I think you'd agree with. Calling African cultures for corrupt, even being insulted for being the "same race", show no empathic boundaries.

No1 is probably gonna read this but screw it I gonna say it anyway.
I'm a kid that covers piano songs trying to make it.
It's hard to get noticed on YouTube without reaching out.
I know there are millions of ppl trying to make it in music but I PROMISE I'm different.
It would mean the world to me if you checked out my stuff.
If any1 that reads this could press the thumbs up, then maybe enough people will discover me and I'll catch up.
One press of a button can change my life. Thanks!

@Phantomwillcullen Praise these words!
I'll take the medieval times, good AND bad. and most of us who "romanticize" the past know that it wasn't all joyous knights and ladies.

@Phantomwillcullen I agree. But the last thing you said basically means that we choose to be blind towards the negative aspects. A robot or computer would weigh them against each other and see how it was, not how we choose to see it.
