the USA were supposed to be a republic. It is now a 'democracy'. ' ' because democracy is completly absurd. Less than 50% of the American people voted for Obama. and few of them knew what they were doing when they voted for him.
Today the consitution is to the USA what the Queen of England is to the UK. The USA are no longer ruled by law.
Liberalism has good intentions like individual rights and equality, but it falls on it's face when it limits peoples liberty to make people equal. Welfare would be a good example. You take the poor, and give them a little something to help them survive. As good as that sounds, the government takes money out of peoples pockets without permission to pay for welfare, and that is wrong. Forced charity is wrong, no matter how good the intention. Never do something bad to bring about good.
You're absolutely right. I hate the welfare system. I hate welfare period. If we're going to have it, they should at least reform it in a way that people wont take advantage of it, like much are doing now. I have a couple of ideas how to do that, but I digress.
I guess almost every political philosophy has its flaw. Being too far to the Left and one can end up being a Socialist(which also has good intentions, but it doesn't work), and being too far the Right and one can end up being a Fascist.
There is an other choice than the socialist-fascist line (what I call the collectivist line). Its called freedom, libertarianism, liberalism (in Europe) or traditional concervatism (in America).
Being 'moderate' today is being between fascism and socialism. This for me completly absurd because making a mixture of 2 failing extremism isn't moderate, it is insanity.

Personally I'm rooting for Rumsfeld in 2012. He has the best experience to rebuild America through free-market ideology, so he's about as "Libertarian" as they get. Plus he's Republican which I think is like "Libertarian-double-plus" in the newly updated LP lexicon.
It's excellent news to hear that there is still hope for America and that there are young people who value truth and integrity. Keep the momentum going: anyone who listens to, and more importantly, hears the message, will support you. I only wish there were a similar movement here in the UK.
