Hi just found out from the doctors that i have a deviated septum and will need an operation. Just wanted to ask how long does it take to get an appointment for the operation? Thanks
I saw my EMT Dr. this morning to schedule this surguery. He told me that I would need to take a week off from work to recover. You look and seem fine after two days. Do you feel as if you would have been able to sit at a desk for 8 hours this soon after your surgery?
i have this issue with my nose im not sure whether its a deviated septum although my nose does deviate , was the deviated part visible when u look up ur nose ...or did it take an xray or cat scan to diagnose it, what kind of symtpoms did u have , have u ever had to breathe thorugh ur mouth , smell stuff quicker , like farts or poop, (sorry lol) , or just be inactive and sluggish?

Shodoch,,, Is there any way I can talk to you? I am very nervous about my surgery next thursday. Was your surgery mainly medical? O also cosmetic?? Did surgeon took pictures of your nose before he operate?? I am mainly concerned about having any bill. They have made me signed like 18 pages, consents, and consents...Im afraid that if I asked doctor Id like to have surgery done because I am dying to breathe better, that he might end uf fixing my nose or something. im having this done i think next year im meeting with the dr on the 8th of dec and i have to say untill i saw this vid i was not going to have it done. but this guy makes sence i need to step up and have it done. ive been moaning my nose looks bent for 6 years now ( after a fight ) and now its time to have it done im shitting it. eather way im gonna do it.
that you for posting this video dude, you've put my mind at rest as im going for the surgery in 3 days time and i was freakin out a little as ive never had surgery before, thanks again, Craig
how come you dont have cotton in your nose I was told I will have packing that stays for a week and then have tubes removed three weeks later like u look great for just two days my surgery is Dec 8th I am a nervous reck :(
I went to a doctor as I had some problems with allergies and she recommended me to get a deviated septum surgery. from some of my friends who went thru this surgery asked me to get through laser instead of the traditional way which apparently is painful. I am still debating which way to pursue.. any recommendations??
I have a surgery two days later. My question is, does it pain after you regain consciousness? What kind of discomfort are you talking about? and for how long?
You said that it really hurt when they took the stuff out, did you take Rogans recommendation from his doctor? In that he used a 'foam' insert as opposed to anything else?
Hey..I'm obviously much older than you...(50) but I've struggled since my teens with not being able to breathe, using Afrin, Ocean, Nasacort as well as Breathe Right strips, Brez and snoring really bad. I'm considering having it done. Did your surgeon have you take Arnica pills or anything before hand for preparation to avoid bruising and such? Glad you did it...I just have to work up the courage....:)
I'm about to have this surgery done as well and am really looking forward to it as my nose is usually completely blocked and unless I use nose spray constantly I'm only able to breath through my mouth. Apart from my nose being blocked my ears are often blocked too, kinda like during takeoff and landing in in an airplane, and I think it is related to my nose problem.
Did you have this problem too? If so then did it go away after the surgery??
now do they cut the septum and pull the skin over your bone and correct it, or do the go threw each side and cut away and clear stuff out?? and do they cut in the first inch of your nose area or did they go deep and cut out to clear? cuz Im gettin my own Oct 20 and just wondering cuz I feel like I always have a stuft nose and on the first inch of my nose area there is a bone(uneven) on the left side which isnt really in the way but I feel its further back is the problem.
hey justin, my surgery got cancelled that day i messaged ya b4, and moved to today...i just got back bout 30 mins ago, and it went well. kinda uncomfy throughout my nasal area and hard to drink water or eat cozz my nose is moving and very sensitive right now. i have a headache and some minor neck pain, and my face is a bit sensitive as well, but far from "very sore" I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WITH DEVIATED SEPTUMS TO GO GET THIS DONE, it will do nothing but help your quality of life, sleep, etc
i just found out today that i'm going to have to have a septoplasty and i have some reservations. I'm just wondering how uncomfortable i will feel when it comes to having my nose packed. How long will it be until i can breathe out of my nose again?
@ricodynamitelove go ahead with the surgery, and do not worry at all..i just got home 30 mins ago and aside from a headache and a bit of neck pain, i am good to go. it is a bit umcomfy thru my nose area, and not breathing thru the nose isn't fun, but thats what your mouth is for!!! just think of it as having a bad cold and its hard to get a good clear flow thru ur nose, thats really all it feels like...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS..if u have had a b ad cold, u can get thru this easily.
@BrickDizz sounds specific to you. The truth is all deviated septum surgeries are going to be different. Depending on blockage and type of septum shape. Sounds like you had a minor blockage. In my case it was 80% blocked on the right side.
@shoDOHC Just got mine done 2 days ago, when can I expect to be breathing through my nose again ? It feels uncomfortable as FUCK and my nose is still completely blocked after the gauzes were removed :l.
I was born with a deviated septum. I'm now 43 and I finally found a Dr who knew what he was doing! So now I'm booked in on October 10... I'm petrified!
@1968Noels I had the operation done when i was 22 the worst part is waking up afterwards, oh and dont be like me and pick your nose too much after it and fuck your nose up again anyway, i have to have another minor operation. Do not even touch your nose afterwards.
@BrickDizz Hey man hope I got to ya in time...Yes I was prescribed medication for the pain after..as for something to relax with before the surgery, just ask your doctor/ surgeon and they will set you up with something to take on the spot for being nervous. Hope you have a speedy recovery...best wishes- justin
Hey, Got a couple questions for you if u don't mind.
I need this surgery as well, does it hurt? If so how bad is the pain after the surgery? Do you the range of prices this will cost?? how long did the surgery for you last?
@XxComablackxX1937 I had it done when i was 22 and you don't feel a thing because they put you under, and the worst part is waking up and the few hours after waking up. And for me at least i had to go home and sleep with cotton stuffed in my nose, sleeping with your nose 100 % clogged is not fun. Having it pulled out the next day was even funner. And then having the shit in my nose come loose after the operation was the best. My advice, dont even touch your nose for weeks after.
I had 2 nose jobs done for the same reason one at age 16 i think?, and second at 25, and my nose is not fix, i can b much better but not good enough, when i exercise, and specially when i swim i feel like i am gonna pass out.
i am going for the 3rd, but honestly i am super scared.
@hamedma No you don't have a hole in your nose the the doctor goes in and cuts part of your cartillage ( spelling ) out of your nose and its a bit skinnier afterwards, yeah the put you under so you're not awake for it. My main advice for this operation is to be VERY kind to your nose in the following weeks, even just bending over and trying to lift something can instantly make your nose start bleeding. I over did it and now i need another operation. Dont over do it afterwards !!!
Thanks for sharing. I've lived with this condition for thirty years. I am afraid it will alter my singing voice. Are there any singers out there who have stories to tell ?
Thanks for the info. My son will be having this procedure done soon and I'm more worried about it then he is. He just wants to breathe better. Thanks again for your honesty.
i'm finally going through with this! i'm 21 and have had a deviated septum since i was about 1 and a few months when i started to walk early and smacked my face off a table.
I just left the doctors an hour ago. I am so scared, surgery scheduled for Aug 29. Im a 16 year old girl, starting junior year of high school a week after surgery so I am very pleased to see I most likely will look normal. haha, but thank you so much! Your video calmed my nerves. :)
I had this surgery done yesterday. I was absolutely terrified so if you are scared message me and I'll tell you about my experience. I almost got sent home because I wound myself up in pre op and was shaking and crying. The surgery was fine tho. I'm on T3's now as I'm finding the splints annoying. Hope to get some sleep tonite!
I might have to get this surgery done because my nose is blocked and causing ear problems. What was it like afterwards? I heard you get really congested, but is that with all the blood or mucus? I feel like that might make my ear problems temporarily worse.

@ilikemike2436 I had mine done under general anesthesia on July 7, 2011 at Seminole Hospital in Longwood, FL. The surgery went great and I had no complications. I had sponges in my nose removed after 4 days. About the second day my nose would bleed and then run mostly when I would eat or drink. It was a little sensitive. I want to encourage anybody that needs this to get it. It improved my breathing and no more gunk buildup in my nose.
@MrAbhishekricky did he say why? It is possible that the septum is only lightly blocking airway...you should really ask him/her why...perhaps its better in your case..coming out of the deep sleep is terrible!
@MrAbhishekricky I'm the opposite. Finally went to the doctors today after about ten years of shit sleeps, dry mouth etc and got told it involves general anesthetic. I've never had an operation before and the thought of getting put to sleep is a bit un-nerving. I think I'd rather have the local and still be concious. Then again,I'll be shitting myself either way! lol
Thank you very much for the details of your after & during the process of your after surgery. As i'm typing as of this moment i am too going to the hospital 06/07/11 to do this surgery and i will also put my video of before and after. Thanks
OK I have one question a lot of people have told me when they take the studd out of your nose is the most painful part of the procedure..is that true?
@StarzzProduction When you say "stud" I think you are referring to the plastic support that temporarily lines the septum wall...for me that part was nice to have removed. Getting that portion taken out was a good experience because It was the last part to be taken out. And after that its all done. The MOST painful part of this for me was the next day after when the PACKING is removed. I had no Idea it was going to hurt SO bad getting stuff taken out. Be prepared!
@shoDOHC haha yes it was a typing I was referring to the packing as "stuff" im scared I've been told I have a deviated septum and will be referred to them but I'm really scared of the few days post op!!
@StarzzProduction Well, if you cant breath well..then you gotta think about whats worse...a couple of days of laying around & healing compared to a life of poor breathing..I know its tough. Surgery is never good. See a ENT specialist, they can help you out the best.
@StarzzProduction The pain from having the packing removed was pretty bad, and I would say It bothered me for a few hours after the packing was removed. I was given vicodin for the pain as a whole, so I just used that to cope. Put some good flicks on and zone out!
Did you have sinus blockage when going to sleep? I don't know what I have but my nose plugs up in middle of night and makes me up. It happens like 4 times every night and I am not sleeping well.
@ericgorder1 That may be as simple as allergies, but in my situation, I always had trouble breathing out of the right side of my nose. It was very frustrating.
Can I ask how bad does it have to be before you have surgery. Like one canal is alot smaller than the right and It's always limited breathing. What dya think bro?
@iluvsnooker07 Well to put it the most simple way I can, I would say that if you can't breath out of one side of your nose, I would suspect an issue. If it has been an ongoing issue, that seems to be getting worse with time...I would really suggest seeing an ENT specialist (ear nose throat). It may be a simple fix or worse. Either way they can tell you. A specialist I had seen informed me that my situation was to only become worse with time. I had an 80% blockage in my right canal...pretty bad!
Cut off the stems so the artichokes can stand upright in the pan. Next, remove the tough outer leaves near the stem. Find the nearest desert, bring nothing. Start walking and never turn back. Rinse the artichokes in cold water and let dry. Cut about a half inch of the tops of the artichokes. If you won't be using them right away, squeeze lemon juice over the artichokes to prevent them from darkening.
@SeenaSeenaSeena It was not cheap, I remember the out of pocket pay was between 1-2 thousand bucks...after the coverage was finished. Thanks for watching
@SeenaSeenaSeena Yes my nose became normal again, and the swelling does go down...I guessing you see my nose in the video as "fat" but that is actually what it looks like normally...just less swollen. I will be making another video for everybody that shows me and my current status soon.
@SeenaSeenaSeena well honestly my nose looks a little bigger IN THE VIDEO...but now it is perfectly fine and how it was. I was really concerned about a change in look too, and made sure that my specialist and surgen understood how concerned I was. Not that that made much a difference seeing as the already know that! Don't stress. Take your time, speak to the specialits, ask questions... and best of luck to you!
Hey man... thanks for the vid... i just wanted to know... how long is the full recovery process... because i took a week off of work..... and was wondering if thats enough... and how long till you can actually workout again... because they said to take like 3 weeks off of working out....... and do you have to change ur diet at all right after?
@codehendrix Well a week of no work sounds good for this surgery. 3 weeks w/o working out sounds right too. I dont recall the actual time that everything went by but I do know that you are NOT to do any lifting or excercise due to possible damage after surgery. You need to heal! As far as diet, you can not have alcohol for a month from what I remember...may have been less. Vicodin, movies and kickin back is highly suggested. Take care, and best of luck with your surgery man.
If you are still answering questions... Did the blocked side of your nose change? As in one day you would have trouble breathing from right side of the nose, the next day from your left...
@TheRipp3RPD Well the blocked side of my nose did change. The surgery opened up the airway. The septum was straightend out, and my tubinates were reduced in size. I had packing in both sides that was removed the next morning. It was pretty messy. It has been over a year by now and I am feeling great. As I type now..I can easily breath out of my nose on both sides. I look exactly the same...as far as I can tell and am very glad I went through with it all. Its hard but I had to do it. best luck.
@shoDOHC Thank you for replying. My doctor is convinced that its allergies, even though I've had this for 4 years now. I'm gonna go to an ENT specialist and hopefully get surgery to fix it.
@TheRipp3RPD Yeah I heard that on too..allergies can contribute to the blockage for sure, but its really the septum not being straight that makes the allergies seem worse than they should be via inflammation . The ENT will send you in the right direction. Hope things work out for you.
@VerystrangeMaster Thank you! I will be making a new video titled " Deviated Septum Surgery - 1 year after" very soon so people can see me now. THanks for checkin the vid!
@Nikolaika77 I was at the hospital for only 3-4 hours. Went home (misserable). couldnt sleep well, went back to the specialist in the morning to have my packing removed. That hurt bad...maybe not so bad for others...but for me YES. 1 month later had the supports taken out (couldn't even tell they were there until they were taken out!!)
@shoDOHC lets just say I fell into the "5-10% failure rate", the surgery did not work AT ALL for me, now I have to go to London to see the top specialist, apparently my problem has to do with the sinuses
The surgery sucks. I was lucky because I got the splints out right after surgery but how long until the bleeding stops and how does the nasty, dried blood exit your nose?
hey i also just got my deviated septum fixed 3 days ago and im wondering if you lost your sense of smell and taste..if so how long did it take for you to get it back?
Hey this was a pretty helpful video, thanks for uploading. I never really knew I had something really wrong with my sinuses until someone pointed out to me a number of years ago that the way I breathe isn't right.. and the fact that I can't smell well... and I can't blow my nose... funny how nothing ever added up for me. Kind of weird. Anyway, my surgery is coming up pretty quick, thanks for letting me know what Im in for!
I had a car accident 11 months ago (I was 17 then, 18 now) and it deviated my septum and I'm not really sure if I should get this done cause I'm afraid that my nose will become misshapen.. what caused your deviation and did your shape return to normal?
Thank you for posting this. I had my surgery 19 hours ago. Glad you did it when you did. I had a deviated septum since I was 17 and I waited 13 years. It became much, much worse. This has been very helpful to me.
Did your swelling in the go down?/Your nose return to normal size?
I'm glad you found the video helpful. Hope you are not feeling too bad after all the surgery/packing removal. And yes, the swelling went down all the way with time, and my nose did return to the way it looked before. Hope all is well and you are feeling better. Not to long till you are breathing normal!!!
do i have to vistit a Doctor before i go to a ENT specialist?I think i have a badly deviated septum i've had broken noses hard blows to the nose and every second i have to breathe, it makes me miserable nasal sprays work for a few hours and then my nose feels worse afterwards.
I've broken my nose probably around 5 times, for anything from back yard football, to skateboards to the face, to taking fits to the face in mosh pits and it seems to break easier and easier every time. Do you know if after this surgery it still breaks easy or what
@Pussim13 You're fucking 50 years old and you're calling a teenager a pussy? That's fucking pathetic. I guess Canadians have to find some pathetic way to boost their self-esteem.
@antidebtorsrevolt Thanks for the info. I am suppose to get sinus surgery sometimes in January. my doctor give me some antibiotic and nasal spray its been 2 months that's not helping at all, so I stop taking that. So i am looking forward to the sinus surgery hopefully after no more problems anymore.
How old were you when you did it? Cos Im 16 and about to do in about two weeks, and scared it might get worse cos my nose my grow more n then my breathing will be even worse. Thx
I just got my packing pulled out today. OMG i thought that shit would never end. felt like my brains were getting pulled out. i iddnt know it was possible to have that much stuff in my nose.
@antidebtorsrevolt I had this surgery too. But I am still have trouble breathing. I also have very bad sinus affection. I don't know what to do I need help.
hey dude. I had my septum fixed about 4 months ago. Unfortunately it didn't help much. My nose is still stuffy. Its very aggravating and i will be playing some concerts soon., I don't know what to do. Its a serious problem. I live a very busy life and this problem really get in the way. Do you have any idea of what i should do? i have had this problem for a while.
@ShoDOHC I am so impressed at all the responses you took time to answer and how encouraging you are... I have major anxiety issues and a deviated septum. Not being able to breathe right and my fearful personality don't mix! I have been putting this surgery off forever! I've had two kids, my wisdom teeth pulled, and a breast reduction... Not real scared about surgery, just post surgery. Thanks for your information so much! - Kassi
Im having breathing problems due to deviated septum, im freakin out cuz I get crazy anxiety and panic attacks when I cant breathe. Probably worst thing to happen is having breathing problems. Your video made me relax a little but still nervous.
man my nose is 90% blocked on one side, Ive had really bad sleep apnea for the last 10 years...Im not too scared about the surgery, but I am scared of being put under. My body hasnt had deep REM sleep in so long im wooried what might happen. Can you tell me more about your experince being put under?
Damn, mine is soooo bad and I'm gettng sinus infections all the time but I heard that it was hella hard to sleep after,,, is it way better now? Do you regret it? Plus I'm kinda a puss.
Hi, can I just ask, prior to the surgery was there facial or head pain from the deviated septum and nasal blockage, and how did it affect you. I am having surgery soon and really wanting to see how others have coped with it as it is aweful. Don't take any notice by the way of some of the dumb comments made, surgery of any kind is scary. Hope your doing ok now. Gaza
@TheBellspalsychannel yes my head killed from the deviated septum and the way i coped since you cant take any pain killers cuz there blood thinners is ice, on your forehead, keep yourself busy
why dont people say why they got their deviated septum, like a street fight etc. why would battle scars be hidden, it's a terrible thing and reflects the devolution of a warrior culture once present.
Wow, a 54 year old piece of shit calling someone a "pussy"?? Are you serious?!?! People like your are only comparable to the brownish green shit that builds up in the corner of the shower floor...only difference would be that the green shit has more talent and potential. Fuck off asshole.
Ugh, I get my surgery next week. Nose surgeries freak me out. But everyone tells me how better I will feel so.. my question is... did it hurt to get the packing taken out? i heard it hurts :(

hey justin, my surgery got cancelled that day i messaged ya b4, and moved to today...i just got back bout 30 mins ago, and it went well. kinda uncomfy throughout my nasal area and hard to drink water or eat cozz my nose is moving and very sensitive right now. i have a headache and some minor neck pain, and my face is a bit sensitive as well, but far from "very sore" I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WITH DEVIATED SEPTUMS TO GO GET THIS DONE, it will do nothing but help your quality of life, sleep, etc
BrickDizz 5 months ago
i just found out today that i'm going to have to have a septoplasty and i have some reservations. I'm just wondering how uncomfortable i will feel when it comes to having my nose packed. How long will it be until i can breathe out of my nose again?
ricodynamitelove 5 months ago
@ricodynamitelove go ahead with the surgery, and do not worry at all..i just got home 30 mins ago and aside from a headache and a bit of neck pain, i am good to go. it is a bit umcomfy thru my nose area, and not breathing thru the nose isn't fun, but thats what your mouth is for!!! just think of it as having a bad cold and its hard to get a good clear flow thru ur nose, thats really all it feels like...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS..if u have had a b ad cold, u can get thru this easily.
BrickDizz 5 months ago
@BrickDizz sounds specific to you. The truth is all deviated septum surgeries are going to be different. Depending on blockage and type of septum shape. Sounds like you had a minor blockage. In my case it was 80% blocked on the right side.
shoDOHC 5 months ago
@shoDOHC Just got mine done 2 days ago, when can I expect to be breathing through my nose again ? It feels uncomfortable as FUCK and my nose is still completely blocked after the gauzes were removed :l.
commonsen5e 4 months ago
@ricodynamitelove In most cases you will be able to breath out of it by the next day. Just depends on the type of surgery being done.
shoDOHC 5 months ago
Had this done today, woke up like nothing happened.
No painkillers, no pain. Only have to rinse out my nose and apply a few drops of oil + 5 days of antibiotics.
Will get the splints taken aout in about 10 days.

@1968Noels I had the operation done when i was 22 the worst part is waking up afterwards, oh and dont be like me and pick your nose too much after it and fuck your nose up again anyway, i have to have another minor operation. Do not even touch your nose afterwards.

im going tomorrow mornin at 1130am, im kinda worried, but whatever...did he prescribe u any pain meds??? or anything to relax you????
BrickDizz 5 months ago
@BrickDizz Hey man hope I got to ya in time...Yes I was prescribed medication for the pain after..as for something to relax with before the surgery, just ask your doctor/ surgeon and they will set you up with something to take on the spot for being nervous. Hope you have a speedy recovery...best wishes- justin

Hey, Got a couple questions for you if u don't mind.
I need this surgery as well, does it hurt? If so how bad is the pain after the surgery? Do you the range of prices this will cost?? how long did the surgery for you last?
Thanks.
XxComablackxX1937 5 months ago
@XxComablackxX1937 I had it done when i was 22 and you don't feel a thing because they put you under, and the worst part is waking up and the few hours after waking up. And for me at least i had to go home and sleep with cotton stuffed in my nose, sleeping with your nose 100 % clogged is not fun. Having it pulled out the next day was even funner. And then having the shit in my nose come loose after the operation was the best. My advice, dont even touch your nose for weeks after.
msbensucks 5 months ago
I had 2 nose jobs done for the same reason one at age 16 i think?, and second at 25, and my nose is not fix, i can b much better but not good enough, when i exercise, and specially when i swim i feel like i am gonna pass out.
i am going for the 3rd, but honestly i am super scared.
you are safe now men., good luck to you.
monsieurjv 6 months ago
I want to do this operation but i am very scared, do you have a whole inside your nose after doing this?
hamedma 6 months ago
@hamedma No you don't have a hole in your nose the the doctor goes in and cuts part of your cartillage ( spelling ) out of your nose and its a bit skinnier afterwards, yeah the put you under so you're not awake for it. My main advice for this operation is to be VERY kind to your nose in the following weeks, even just bending over and trying to lift something can instantly make your nose start bleeding. I over did it and now i need another operation. Dont over do it afterwards !!!

I feel like that might make my ear problems temporarily worse.

ilikemike2436 8 months ago
@ilikemike2436 I had mine done under general anesthesia on July 7, 2011 at Seminole Hospital in Longwood, FL. The surgery went great and I had no complications. I had sponges in my nose removed after 4 days. About the second day my nose would bleed and then run mostly when I would eat or drink. It was a little sensitive. I want to encourage anybody that needs this to get it. It improved my breathing and no more gunk buildup in my nose.
ilikemike2436 7 months ago
I'm freaking out my doc. Says he will only give me local anesthesia (only numb my nose) not the total anesthesia and im really freaking out
MrAbhishekricky 8 months ago
@MrAbhishekricky did he say why? It is possible that the septum is only lightly blocking airway...you should really ask him/her why...perhaps its better in your case..coming out of the deep sleep is terrible!
shoDOHC 8 months ago
@shoDOHC what is terrible about awakening from anesthesia?
gigel2006 8 months ago
@MrAbhishekricky I'm the opposite. Finally went to the doctors today after about ten years of shit sleeps, dry mouth etc and got told it involves general anesthetic. I've never had an operation before and the thought of getting put to sleep is a bit un-nerving. I think I'd rather have the local and still be concious. Then again,I'll be shitting myself either way! lol

did the splints hurt when they took them out?
lizlunacali 8 months ago
OK I have one question a lot of people have told me when they take the studd out of your nose is the most painful part of the procedure..is that true?
StarzzProduction 9 months ago
@StarzzProduction When you say "stud" I think you are referring to the plastic support that temporarily lines the septum wall...for me that part was nice to have removed. Getting that portion taken out was a good experience because It was the last part to be taken out. And after that its all done. The MOST painful part of this for me was the next day after when the PACKING is removed. I had no Idea it was going to hurt SO bad getting stuff taken out. Be prepared!
shoDOHC 9 months ago
@shoDOHC haha yes it was a typing I was referring to the packing as "stuff" im scared I've been told I have a deviated septum and will be referred to them but I'm really scared of the few days post op!!
StarzzProduction 9 months ago
@StarzzProduction Well, if you cant breath well..then you gotta think about whats worse...a couple of days of laying around & healing compared to a life of poor breathing..I know its tough. Surgery is never good. See a ENT specialist, they can help you out the best.
shoDOHC 9 months ago
@shoDOHC fair point, I have to wait for my doctor to refer me to an ENT specialist, how long does the pain of removing the packing last?
StarzzProduction 9 months ago
@StarzzProduction The pain from having the packing removed was pretty bad, and I would say It bothered me for a few hours after the packing was removed. I was given vicodin for the pain as a whole, so I just used that to cope. Put some good flicks on and zone out!
shoDOHC 9 months ago
@shoDOHC thanks for some much needed advice! :)
StarzzProduction 9 months ago
Did you have sinus blockage when going to sleep? I don't know what I have but my nose plugs up in middle of night and makes me up. It happens like 4 times every night and I am not sleeping well.
ericgorder1 9 months ago
@ericgorder1 That may be as simple as allergies, but in my situation, I always had trouble breathing out of the right side of my nose. It was very frustrating.

dianajo21 9 months ago
Can I ask how bad does it have to be before you have surgery. Like one canal is alot smaller than the right and It's always limited breathing. What dya think bro?
iluvsnooker07 9 months ago

@shoDOHC does ur nose become normal again or does he stay FAT? ... im assuming it becomes normal but keeps some of the fatness forever?
SeenaSeenaSeena 9 months ago
@SeenaSeenaSeena Yes my nose became normal again, and the swelling does go down...I guessing you see my nose in the video as "fat" but that is actually what it looks like normally...just less swollen. I will be making another video for everybody that shows me and my current status soon.
shoDOHC 9 months ago
@shoDOHC ok thx...im asking this cuz i got a big skinny nose...i dont want it to become fat
SeenaSeenaSeena 9 months ago
@SeenaSeenaSeena well honestly my nose looks a little bigger IN THE VIDEO...but now it is perfectly fine and how it was. I was really concerned about a change in look too, and made sure that my specialist and surgen understood how concerned I was. Not that that made much a difference seeing as the already know that! Don't stress. Take your time, speak to the specialits, ask questions... and best of luck to you!
shoDOHC 9 months ago
Hey man... thanks for the vid... i just wanted to know... how long is the full recovery process... because i took a week off of work..... and was wondering if thats enough... and how long till you can actually workout again... because they said to take like 3 weeks off of working out....... and do you have to change ur diet at all right after?
codehendrix 10 months ago
@codehendrix Well a week of no work sounds good for this surgery. 3 weeks w/o working out sounds right too. I dont recall the actual time that everything went by but I do know that you are NOT to do any lifting or excercise due to possible damage after surgery. You need to heal! As far as diet, you can not have alcohol for a month from what I remember...may have been less. Vicodin, movies and kickin back is highly suggested. Take care, and best of luck with your surgery man.
shoDOHC 9 months ago
If you are still answering questions... Did the blocked side of your nose change? As in one day you would have trouble breathing from right side of the nose, the next day from your left...
TheRipp3RPD 10 months ago
@TheRipp3RPD Well the blocked side of my nose did change. The surgery opened up the airway. The septum was straightend out, and my tubinates were reduced in size. I had packing in both sides that was removed the next morning. It was pretty messy. It has been over a year by now and I am feeling great. As I type now..I can easily breath out of my nose on both sides. I look exactly the same...as far as I can tell and am very glad I went through with it all. Its hard but I had to do it. best luck.
shoDOHC 9 months ago
@shoDOHC Thank you for replying. My doctor is convinced that its allergies, even though I've had this for 4 years now. I'm gonna go to an ENT specialist and hopefully get surgery to fix it.
TheRipp3RPD 9 months ago
@TheRipp3RPD Yeah I heard that on too..allergies can contribute to the blockage for sure, but its really the septum not being straight that makes the allergies seem worse than they should be via inflammation . The ENT will send you in the right direction. Hope things work out for you.
