Yeah, my cat made a few attempts to steal from me but I always catch him in the act and yell at him and he normally runs into the kennel by himself. He hasn't really done it, because he know's better. I hadn't yet bought a squirt bottle.

Cats do that when they think somebody or something will take the food from them. When they are relaxed and feel 100% safe, they will not act that way. It may take time for him to learn that he's safe in your home and that no other animals will get in and take his food..

yeah we had only had him for about a month when this happened. this barely ever happens anymore tho. sometimes now i'll even go to his food bowl and pretend to eat his food and he wont do anything lol
