@warthog548 I guess it all comes down to not having the lyrics on the inner sleeve of the album. I think it's the only Foreigner original material album not to.
@warthog548 it's actually "I know we both have our own little ways"...but yeah...how can you put up one of the greatest rock songs and not make sure you have the right lyrics? that's just embarrassing
can't think of another band with so many incredible songs!!! Seriously think about it. And don't forget about some of Lou Gramm's songs that he recorded on his own. Best in the business by far.
Upon hearing the beginning of this song for the first time, my 7 year old thought it was from Plants vs Zombies. After the song ended, he said, "Actually... that was way better than Plants vs Zombies."
@sweetestgurl4u2luv I know Foreigner has attracted a stronger female audience with these two songs but sadly lost some of their male fans with these two songs
One of the first records (you know kids, those plastic frizbee looking things that you see in museums) I ever bought. Played the shite out of it! This song brings back a lot of memories.
made back in the day when artists like this had albums under their belt and were still making albums that you ACTUALLY wanted to buy-can't say that about today's music!
Great song, I wish that Foreigner would have kept on making songs like this instead of stuff like "I Want to Know What Love Is" and "Waiting For a Girl Like You"
Damn, I love me some Foreigner!!!! Anytime I hear any of their songs it takes me back to softball camp in the early 80's when we blasted it in our cabin. That's when my love affair with Foreigner began.
This album had slightly different album covers. Some had a green tinge, some had a bluish gray tinge. I think there were one ore two more color variations.
@unravelled1962 It is pretty much the same riff. The Beatles had a song where they say Good morning that sounds a lot like Blue Morning in this song too.
Back in October of 1979 our school bus had an 8 track player and the first kid on the bus everyday was this dude named Rodney, and everyday he was equipped with the Double Vision 8 track. He brought it every day so now I can't hear this song without thinking of those cold mornings in Miamisburg, Ohio. Great song though, and a must have album. I was just checking out an aircheck from some Minneapolis rock station from 1979 and they were playing Tramontane on the radio!
What a great story! It's funny, that's about the same time and place, (school bus radio), where I fell in love with Foreigner! Cold New Jersey mornings for me though, HA! Getting a contact high from all the pot and the bus driver just looking the other way.... ah... good times...
@Paganguy1 im from N.J too and i had the same thing on my bus.everyone was stoned, and thats where i first heard alot of the music that i still listen to today.
@jp0000000 So it's not just me that they were big among stoners back then? Strange when you think about it but I associate Foreigner with the smell of weed smoke.
@shelly10538 Foreigner did indeed get heavy airplay in Minneapolis back in those days. I think they were huge among a certain sort of hard rocker at the time.
@ihatelife14529 I know EXACTLY how you feel. I feel like I don't belong in this generation at all. All of today's music and TV shows don't relate to me whatsoever. But music from the 70s and 80s, and cartoons from the 90s (LOVE classics like Loony Tunes and Tom & Jerry also) are my all-time favorites. If I could go back in time and live in any of those generations, my life would be so much better and more entertaining.
@ShadowSiren45 I feel that exact same way! I feel that I don't fit in with both the music and television shows out on the airways today and not to mention the kids and young adults under 30 today. NO RESPECT!
Foreigner was the best rock band of the 70's and saved those of us who despised the disco abomination. I do believe they went pop at the end though. "I Wanna Know What Love Is" was straight off the pop music assembly line. So I ignore that version of Foreigner and listen to their golden age music.
@CorporalPitts I see only 3, 4 songs loaded from this album. There are two other tunes I like and they are 'Spellbinder' and 'Lonely Children'. Forgotten and underrated.
Just saw them in concert. They didn't play this song....but still awesome.. Kelly Hansen can deliver the vocals. Didn't know what to expect without Lou Gramm....but truly enjoyable!!!
Great band;Lou Gramm had a super voice,Mick Jones had great vision and chord selection and Dennis Elliot was a great drummer for a time when speed wasn't necessarily the key to everything.I miss this band when they were in their prime.
I love the song! Unfortunatly, where I live, I'm considered a "Hippie" for listening to this. I love the songs, but the hippie names are getting old.(In other words, my name IS NOT SUNSHINE!!!!)
These guys were craftsman. People don't construct songs like Foreigner did anymore. It's a lost art. They put a lot of love into the song structure and the mixing of it all in the studio. Thanks for sharing. Takes me back to middle school when music meant everything.
@stilllife3569 Yeah buddy! We used to buy albums and sit around and LISTEN. There was no filler material. We looked at the cover art and inserts. It was the saturday event. Music today is background noise. Everything is disposable. This is timeless stuff here!!!
right on ,been into foreigner since the begining.this song brings back so many good time growing up in detroit.seen then in aug,for free downtown jason bonham on drums and they had a diff singer but still sound good
@KingTrueBaby Totally!!!!! Supernatural used to play only the best of the classics, sadly, since Sera took over and has put so much more funding towards the gruesome props they no longer have the budget to pay the royalties for the songs we love. Maybe she'll bring it back, we need more Foreigner, Leppard, AC/DC, all of it!
