Terrificante!
@lapanen007 I agree completely. Have been listening to Bowman's version comparatively with Sonia Prina, who is excellent as well. But, Bowman gets the meaning across so expressively
A fabulous bit of documentation of this really great singer. He still sings, albeit sporadically, and is a regular member of the Chapel Royal Choir of St. James palace in London. He must be 67 or so now! Great to know he is still around.
It's just wonderful! His voice is very beautiful! The right embelishment. I like his version much more than Jaroussky's and Gall's. But think that the best versions are Spanos's and Cencic's.
Boh!!
Haha, yes, I wanted to comment on that too. :) The correct Italian would be "il" for a man, right? But I've never heard Il Pavarotti or something like that mentioned, so we don't want to invent new expressions here, don't we? :) Anyhow, Bowman is definitely one of the greats...
The version of Spinosi has a fantastic flutist. And a great singer.

Love Bowman in this. But the flautist is average. Shame really as its a beautiful flute moment.

the flutist woman is bad, she doesn't fill what she is playing

Very good. Great aria. The best version of Sol da te I've ever heard is Nicholas Spanos's.

Secondo me, è migliore l'esecuzione di Gall.

Translation I found:
Only from you, my sweet love,
this heart
will have peace, will have comfort.
Your beautiful sweet eyes
are the stars
with which Love guides me to the harbor.

La Bowman is such a treat!!!!
His voice, beautiful.
Still, in these days, an older man, still splendid.

You're right but don't call a man 'La' something.

Oh what ever...maybe the name La is more for Diva's.
Divo's is IL then, ha ha!
Never new.
