Wow, I just wish I could learn to do that. Do you know where I can find some help to start with it ? I don't even know what material I need to make this, so if you knew some nice simple website where they explain it all, that would be so great :3
wow! Great video, I was hoping you can help me out. I own a few gameboy colors, synthesizer, amp,and that's about it, how do I get started? mixer? cables? etc.? Thanks.
an easy start to making 8bit music is to download famitracker and learning how to use that on your computer. it will give you an idea and feel for the music creation and you can start making music right away for free! the program is for making NES music and it has an entire forum to help you out. for game boy music just google lsdj. thats also is a pretty user friendly program.
@cobra979 there are a few music makers for gameboy (lsdj, muddy gb, and nanoloop to name a few)
nanoloop is by far the easiest to make decent sounding music, lsdj is a bit complicated, and muddy gb only allows for live playing... there are others, but i forgot some of the names (i know there is a drum machine one)
hello this vid is great, i got my gameboys and everything im just having trouble hacking them. do you connect the gameboys to the mixer then computer to put lsdj on them?
nope, you dont have to mod your gameboy in anyway (you can to make the sound more sweet tho), lsdj in on a cart which you plug into teh gameboy, if you want to buy thoses carts, just google nonfiniete electronics, kitsch-bent these two guy are doing thier best to provide you with everything for your gameboy music needs :)
Hi, I'm from 8bc. Just dropping by to say that I LOVED the first song especially. The amp gives everything a nice thick sound that the DMG lacks on its own. Bravo!
im preety sure the music is called chip tune...not 100% sure though, if youre interested in making that kind of music you could google for some pc programmes that emulate the sound like magical8bitplug3...
i would say 8bit/chiptune is part of the larger Lo-bit movement of using lo-tech methods to make music. 8bit/chiptune is not really a genre but more of a process of making music through lo-tech means such as computers with 8-bit processing and simple syths found in old computers and hardware. some more popular ways of making 8bit/Chiptune music are on harwares such as the C64,gameboy,and NES.
there are more softwares but NANOLOOP and LSDJ seem to be the most poplular for the Game boy. profet64 works for the C64 and midines and nerdtracker can be used to make music on the NES.
google search the names of the program and you will find all the information you need.
hi i make gameboy music as well. i have nanoloop and lsdj as well as nanovoice. how do you connect your gameboys to your mixer, what kind of cables do you use?
In the video i use rca's to connect the mixer and gb's then put it out to a amp.
i also have a mono mixer i just use your standard 1/4 cabels and 1/8 adaptor to connect to the gb or 1/8 cables to 1/4 adapters when i use that. for me it just depends on what kind of out put device i have at my disposal.
Sweet dude,Im going to start doing 8-bit music soon,Got to get the cartridge.
