This video is very misleading in that the footage dates from the Third Eye era but the song was actually recorded in the late 90s by the (finest) Redd Kross line up including Eddie Kurdziel and Brian Rietzel, with Roger Joseph Manning Jr on Keyboards. Credit where credit's due.
@ kdito as far as i know, this song was recorded for the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack in 1997 or 98. The story goes that the scene which featured it was cut from the film, hence the song didn't make it either. Big shame, because i think it's one of the finest Redd Kross ever recorded.
This was the Show World line up plus guest keyboard player Roger Manning of Jellyfish. Guitarist Eddie Kurdziel died a year later. Such a waste, as I think that this was by far the greatest Redd Kross line up.
I LOVE this song! Was this recorded during the Third Eye sessions? Why didn't it make it onto the album? I don't understand that, as it's better than alot of the songs on that record...
...and in response to the first poster.. yeah I like Robert Hecker era Redd Kross, but anyone who isn't a silly nostalgic old fart knows that the Eddie Kurdziel era RK records blow away the Hecker ones...
Wow. I have heard alot of similar comments from other fans of early Redd Kross. I totally disagree. I think early Redd Kross is great and humorous and definitely a cool punk relic sound, but the band they became after THIRD EYE on forward was far beyond any of their early stuff in terms of sheer brilliant songwriting and production. SHOW WORLD is one of the greatest ROCK albums of any era or genre, period. Same with PHASESHIFTER.
:') such a good video

Great song and I have no idea what album it comes from. Song has a Queen sound.

I recognize Roger Manning on backing vocals here. What album is this from?

@oioirock Wow, I knew about the Jellyfish connection (they're one of my favorite bands ever) but the rest was all new to me. Thanks for the info!

@kdito You're welcome, any time!
If you don't already have them, I can't recommend the Redd Kross albums Show World and Phaseshifter enough. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. :)

The band is fantastic.....it's Dave Markey who is lame!

What a lame band these guys turned out to be. If I had known they'd become this lame back in '83, I would have shot 'em all.

I fuckin hate that. Youtube has ruined some bands for me.
