Ok so here's the deal. I am a fan of Twilight. I am 24 years old. However, I have to agree with the majority of what you have to say. My main beef with Twilight is the fact that it has become synonymous with the word vampires. I have loved vampires since the days of "Interview with a vampire" back when they were the monsters they were created to be and didn't sparkle. I actually wouldn't doubt if some of her reaction to the video was a bit staged or planned out. I just visited her youtube page and she has nearly 10,000 subscribers. Her crazy enthusiasm for Twilight is making her popular. Kinda like how that kid from the "Greatest Freak Out Ever" video go famous. That turned out to be completely staged. Some people will do just about anything for their 15 minutes of fame.
I cannot take that seriously. I think she was (1) secretly an actor trying out for a part or (2) secretly paid by the production studio to promote the movie with a soi-disant crappy vid or (3) an ironicist with ulterior motives (you know, like the screenwriters of Something Borrowed, or maybe I'm an ironicist). Over the past century, people have been moving away from literature (quality literature) and going toward film. This isn't necessarily bad, it's just what has happened. Recently, around the start of Twilight, romance novels are being written for tweens. Now that they are being adapted to the screen, those girls, that are not prepared for that kind of material anyway, start reacting like this young woman. Romance novels are NOT for young women because they don't have the capacity to handle it.

As a very huge fan of the Harry Potter books and films, I get very excited when new material is released from the films and now that it's coming to end there's a particular sadness. I find it super fun when the WHOLE AUDIENCE is freaking out for the film like that. That's the magic of seeing Harry Potter or Twilight in the theatre the first night. If you don't want those people go a week or two after it's released at less attended showing.
I work at a grocery store and several of our younger, female employees talk nothing but Twilight. One of them told me that the Twilight books are the ONLY ones she's EVER read, Obviously, the series fills some great, emotional need for these women. Their reactions make it seem like, to them, Twilight is akin to a religious experience. I don't get it either. I'm a film fan and these are NOT the best vampire movies by a long shot.

I actually wouldn't doubt if some of her reaction to the video was a bit staged or planned out. I just visited her youtube page and she has nearly 10,000 subscribers. Her crazy enthusiasm for Twilight is making her popular. Kinda like how that kid from the "Greatest Freak Out Ever" video go famous. That turned out to be completely staged. Some people will do just about anything for their 15 minutes of fame.

I'm 14 and hate the movie. When I said I don't like the movie to my friends they started shouting and saying I;m stupid. The worst about this franchise is not the movie but the fanbase! Most of the fans who go mental over the films is simply them transferring their love for the book onto the movie. It does not reflect the quality of the movie. That should be very obvious. And in all fairness, the nerds and geeks who grow a hard on over Star Wars, Inception, Batman, and all the nerd properties are no different. Over the past century, people have been moving away from literature (quality literature) and going toward film. This isn't necessarily bad, it's just what has happened. Recently, around the start of Twilight, romance novels are being written for tweens. Now that they are being adapted to the screen, those girls, that are not prepared for that kind of material anyway, start reacting like this young woman. Romance novels are NOT for young women because they don't have the capacity to handle it.

To me twilight is a pg vesion of true blood sorta because they both have similar stories. The only difference is it doesn't have that much action and sex oh and they sparkle. An the true blood boils came out like 4 or 5 years before twilight so she sort copied the true blood writer.

Not all fans of Twilight are this..uhm..insane. I loved the books way before they were popular. A lot of these ridiculous freak outs are from people who probably haven't even read the books. As a very huge fan of the Harry Potter books and films, I get very excited when new material is released from the films and now that it's coming to end there's a particular sadness. But this is just ridiculous. I mean putting aside that fact that I think Twilight itself is nothing to be amazed at, there's still no need to act like that. To maybe get a little jittery and emotional yes, but to start yelling and crying is way, way over the top (regardless of the person's physical appearance).

I work at a grocery store and several of our younger, female employees talk nothing but Twilight. One of them told me that the Twilight books are the ONLY ones she's EVER read, Obviously, the series fills some great, emotional need for these women. Their reactions make it seem like, to them, Twilight is akin to a religious experience. I don't get it either. I'm a film fan and these are NOT the best vampire movies by a long shot.
