my mother almost died of this in 2007. she was having a fit on the hospital bed, needles in her armsbreaking and most of her blood gushed of her, not enough to servive of. blood had to be delivered to her from a citly 10 miles away that had to be in her within 5 mins or she would have died. my brother was 11lb 2oz.
she was on life suport for a week and she was gray with buses and bugs under her eyes.
freakin VS's are bad, O2 SAT 89%? my first thoguht was Fluid/volumn replacement along with O2 therapy she should've repeated the TO orders AND questioned them, the order was to "Order 4 units PRBC and repeat labs after each unit" When did the MD say "transfuse?" and you DON'T "order" PRBC's, you write an order to "type and cross" AND Transfuse, and get an order for the non-rebreatther you put on without an order....cover your ass Stupid
that would b so cool if all lab technichians actually wore vampire capes
