look at 0:47 at that fella on the white honda that got the holeshot. he was smart and he watched the person that dropped the gate and got a huge jump on the start
looks great man, but for me the deal breaker on that cam is the CMOS chip, the rolling shutter is too much for me, and the quick pans make the background look "skewed"
but that's just personal preference, alot of people don't mind, and it is a wonderful cam
Hey thanks! ex1 is awesome i will recommend it to anyone, amazing cam, this vid was actually the first edit i ever did with it so there are some minor mishaps, shutter is hard to get dialed : )
Films201 it depends on the type of things you plan to do with it. However, in that price range, look at the Canon HV30 or a used Sony pd100a, you would be pleased with either of these cameras.
Very nice vid. Absolutely LOVE that camera. Planning to upgrade to the ex1 myself. One downfall with the vid, and it could just be my computer, but the music is scetchy -- plays normal, then speeds up and slows down constantly while the visuals are just perfect and the frames flow just fine.
hey nice vid man... i use premiere pro cs4 to edit what you use... also I am looking for a new camcorder for around $700-1000.... you have any that you prefer or recommend
hey yo! Did you slow the video down further using FCP? Different videos on youtube seem to show the EX1's 60fps is as good as this, or worse. How slow is 60fps!!!!
Nope the 60fps is done with in the EX1 its self, it is already that slow when it is imported into FCP. the EX1 has capabilities of shooting anything between 1 frames a second and 60 FPS the more frames a second the slower it looks, 1fps would be used for things such as time lapse. The only down side is no audio can be recored during 60fps. Normal video is shot at around 30fps- double the frames = double the lenth of the clip, hense the slow mo effect. get it?
i thought its all the same speed when you import, your just getting more info per second so there isnt much space between frames and you can just throw it in a 60p timeline and get those crisp slow mos, or are you shooting on some slow motion preset?
by the way this footage looks amazing, this is better than any hvx ive seen, did you do any color correction?
Hey, would the footage look nice if you slowed it down? I've read somewhere that film looks nicer in slow motion when it's recorded in 24fps.
