The High Elves left Tristfal after a few years because many began to go insane, and it was felt that "something evil" lay dormant deep underneath.

I believe these creatures are keeping an Old God sealed away.

Further clues are found in the Puzzle Box of Yogg Saron, and a quest involving a "Bloodstone" from Tristfal, which stems from the power of an Old God.

found this just now. tried to do the /sleep but nothing happend so i guess it's random. Nice little secret indeed, was just flying about, looking for a nice fishing spot and found the chair, but then i flew abit further and found the ring of mushrooms!

I found this today. I dont know if it was coincidence but I did /sleep in the middle of the circle and the event started. Ive been watching out for this area for ages and this is one of the reasons I still play. Seeing beautiful secrets like this. Its clearly linked to the Emerald Dream or a healing of Tirisfal. However, there is a level 84 bear lurking in the mountains near by towards Silverpine of whom constantly falls asleep. Half corrupted by the dream maybe? Cant wait to find more on this!

Everyone wonders why this event occurs and it's purpose.. I'm going to guess the Faerie portal they create is an entrance to the emerald dream some day.
