  • omfg this is awesome o.O

  • Ya its not really whether its good or bad but certainly powerful and feature rich.

  • SquidFighter, you are right :D

I use Bullet now and it is REALLY easy and funny to use, the render is not so good, but I love it :P

  • You cant say how good a game engine is by just looking at som renders, is it easy to use? Does the game engine contain any physics? For what kind game was it designed for (shoter, racing)? Beacuse they are offen difrent in some ways.

  • song?

  • guys beware.. watch ur talkin..

there is much work on these engines.. u guys dont see what he is presenting there so pls be quiet.. and try to learn something =D

  • Its not that amazing to make a small room with lots of fancy, and rotate the camera so slowly. Lets see how well it does in a real game, open areas, and spinning the mouse around.

  • dude!!! u're totally getting it wrong...this a very powerful engine...i'm mean look how the light behaves...or the reflections...amazing engine!!! and the camera was (i guess) intended to be slow so u see all the details!!! and btw open areas are easier to make than small rooms!!!

  • Im saying, many engines can do this. These are pretty basic effects nowdays. They dont do it because games need to be open areas in a lot of cases. If for example unreal engine would make a demo like this where they went all out on a small room it would kick the shit out of this

  • I agree, it is not impressive. Those effects are std in commercial engines. Also, bloom effect is overused in the demo. But I need to say that they have good artists which doesn't add anything to the engine anyways

  • I think the fact that it can use both opengl and directx, and that theyre making it a point to look just as well in opengl is what makes this engine stand out

  • yea but for one person to make

  • yeah, but also, it does'nt really matter that much when they have to sit and design all the details.. you know, its like cameras, so what if it has 1564561 megapixles if the objective sucks. i mean sure its better when a lot of time has been put on details, but they cant make it this detailed the whole game it would take 30 years.

  • Im kinda confused, what do they mean by middleware? Is Unigine a proper games engine? Like Unreal, Crytek and ID softwares? Coz they also made some 3d animation with Unigine.

  • Yes this is an real time demo called Sanctuary, it looks so fancy because you can enable post processing filters like sepia, blur 2d, a blue filter etc. About the pricing: the Commercial source license is about 60k$ this is a "normal" price for such an Engine( Gamebryo~50k$ Unreal3.X~1.000.000$)...Jeez if I only could afford such a Monster :)

  • Try torrents, just don't plan on selling anything!! :P

  • tried it but cant find one, and also I think you can request an evaluation copy from them, they said "everything you'll find in Unigine except the source code and C++ API access", so maybe once I upgraded my comp I will try to ask one..hehe

  • i dont think its in real time -- and their official website got suspended :(

  • It is. I have it on my computer, it runs mostly 50FPS at 1280x1024 on Vista Ultimate 32 Bit everything maxed.

  • Ok but do you know why their official website is closed down? If you do please explain

  • Expensive.

  • This is the engine they are using to create Afterfall a post apocalyptic rpg which will show Bethsoft how to create good rpgs with content....

  • This is real time.

  • this is not in a real-time...right?

Because if it is it would be one of most amazing engines I saw...or you have the fastest memory processor and graphic card ever :D

  • its real

  • if you look those textures dont have paralax mapping applied this would be more impressive if it did

  • Unigine is very good...but trust me...you dont wanna buy it...its 50,000$USD for the simple Unigine©. and 75,000$ for the source code coming with it ._.

  • Exactly why they heightened the price in the first place. Other than developmental costs, the company is only supporting high-profile game developers, or those who wish to create commercial games, not hobbyists.

With high prices, only developers with the real desire to create a work of art will sacrifice their capital to develop the game. Or else, they will have wasted a lot of money.

Unigine Developers do not support hobbyists is as most hobbyists churn out games that are usually substandard.

  • Again, note that I said "usually", not "always" because some of the hobbyists' games are truly excellent, basing themselves on other engines such as Garagegames' Torque series, or even developing the engine themselves.

    Cheers to the indies!

  • Yea...but some have desires to make a great game with engines like Unigine which are engines that impresses me quite much. They just don't have the income to afford such a thing ._.

  • I agree :)

  • Looks amazing.

  • omg whats this song

  • The quality of that images is good

What version(s) of the pixel shader do you use?

  • Since it was posted in 2006... and they're obviously detail in the surface maps... SM3.0

  • Super silnik, jeszcze takiego nie widziałem, a te efekty po prostu delicje, nie mogę się doczekać innych filmow z tym silnikiem... This Engine is best from other one...
