  • my husband is there william songer#1199357 i love you william,

  • william songer my husband is here.

  • yes, accepting more prisoners and building more prisons for profit!!! To lock us all up on way or another folks, think about it. We need you to join us at The Community Restoration Tour. We can be tough and smart on crime at the same time by building people not prisons.

  • @OneJusticeSeeker yeah good luck with that

  • Nice coverage. Thank you.

  • Based on the comments here, it's the 'fine, upstanding citizens' of the world that I wouldn't want to turn my back on. Shit la merde, but the world's gotten bloodthirsty! No wonder our species is on the verge of ripping its own collective throat out.

  • Private prisons often rip off prisoners and I have proof. The CCA, of which my brother Jerry is forced to accept, charges for their pillows, shoes, allows only 60 cents' worth of expense per meal and other nonsense. Often the guards are not professionally prepared, and there seems to be a line of "good folks" out there who want to rip off the incarcerated. Say what you want about what the inmates have done, and I'll agree with you, but we have to stop treating them like animals or worse.

  • and Virginia is accepting more prisoners???!!!!

  • According to a Wall Street Journal Article VI will be taking in new prisoners from PA and MI. There are currently prisoners at Wallens Ridge from the Virgin Islands, part of a crass 'prisoner renting' scheme.

  • Hey DHolly, your buddy Alphonso Bennet is a FUCKING CHILD RAPIST, and is in RED ONION now, so stfu.

  • it DOES NOT matter how well convicts are ever treated in prison period... convicts will ALLWAYS complain, and liberals who have never been victimized will listen...

  • All inmates at WRSP may not have long term sentences but the ones who don't were sent there for being disruptive and not following the rules at lower level institutions. This film shows an inaccurate depiction of how things really are at WRSP. It is based on mostly false accusations made by inmates to make liberals feel sorry for them so they can get what they want. If they wanted to have a good life they shouldn't have committed the crime and been normal contributing members of society.

  • pherron73: Not only are you telling a bold faced lie but you are making a uninformed judgement against anywhere jailed at Wallen's Ridge. I knew of many, many people that were sent there and they had no disciplinart trouble in prison whatsoever. So let's just stop the false propaganda. They were sent there to make MONEY for the developers of WRSP as are other prisoners sent to these PRIVATE prisons. And how do you know who commited a crime and who didn't?????

  • Wallens Ridge and Red Onion are in the fucking way. Wise County is whack. VA DOC needs to shut those places down, fuck that whack ass county's economy. FREE ALPHONSO BENNETT @ WALLENS RIDGE.

  • and btw, if some people dont want to be called NIGGERS, well fuck,, dont act like a bunch of NIGGERS and walk the role... say waht you like,,, we have places like WRSP, ROSP, and hundreds of others across America to deal with your kind... the correction starts on YOUR END, NOT OURS!!!

  • well BOO HOO for the poor, poor inmates at WRSP!!! i wish some of you could work even one day at WRSP or any other state/federal prison in America... these morons have it much better than they ever did in prison life... its sick to see these demented, souless people do anything they can to carry on their lawlessness inside the bars... i say to hell with correction,,, make prison a bad, bad place to go and maybe generations of thugs wouldent be lining up for a bed!!!

  • When did any of you work at this prison?

  • To me its kind of insulting to discuss the prison system with the "well, most offenders....." argument. They are PEOPLE regardless of things they have done. Even if the "majority" of them deserve to rot, are you really willing to mistreat some to punish many? What kind of message does that send? Besides, the prison population is about 2 million people. Meaning if only 10% are getting mistreated, that's 200,000 people. Don't turn people into percentages.

  • I wish more videos like this were available. If America only knew that we have hundreds of "Abu Ghraibs" right here on American soil, perhaps they'd rethink their get tough mentality. Whatever happened to human rights?

  • You are so correct phattygirl, Wallens Ridge was our own Guantanemo Bay. People were abused there daily. Prisoners were beaten, shot, and forced to crawl on their hands and knees. Blk prisoners were openly called "Nigger" by the all-white guards. Food was tampered with as well as personal mail. How do I know this? I was a part of a grass-roots effort to remove out-of-state prisoners from that prison.

  • He was in prison for minor drug possession and had four months left on his sentence when he committed suicide at the Wallens-Ridge Correctional facility in Virginia. (Note the state of CT settled with the Tracy family for his death!) There are reports by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty Intl., and the F.B.I. which all counter your statemet that all inmates are long-term detaineess with life sentences.

  • i notice you include the part about it being the boy's first offense, but you didn't include why he was there. being that i'm from big stone gap, home of wallen's ridge state prison, i think you should note that the assignment criteria for said facility is that the inmates are long-term detainees, with single, multiple, and life+ sentences. so tell me, why was that "poor little boy" there?

  • That's not true about the prisoners there being "long-term" detainees with "life" sentences. Check your facts .....Oh, and since your from the area.......as I am too.....perhaps you'd like to go take a tour, and see what it's REALLY like. You've probably never even been on prison grounds before, thus you have NO IDEA what actually goes on behind prison walls.....especially when you put Cousin Billy Bob and Nephew Jimmy Joe in charge of everything.

  • it's a supermax prison. the only people up there who AREN'T long term prisoners are the ones who've been shipped in by overcrowding in other prison systems in the US. I have taken a tour there, and I do know people who both work and are detained there.

  • Wallens Ridge is NOT a SuperMax...originally intended to be, but after all of the scandal and abuse, the name was "downgraded". Hmmm, was your tour before or after inmates were brought in? I know there was a big party on the hill when they allowed unsuspecting citizens to 'check it out' before the offenders arrived and the atrocities began.

  • you're as ignorant as the people you're speaking of. "cousin billy bob" and "nephew jimmy joe". you sound MORE ignorant IMO. i know plenty of guards up there personally who are not racist, not authoritarian, and who work well within the bounds of their job description. you forget that these people aren't babysitting cub scouts, they're watching inmates. go flaunt your blatant ignorance elsewhere

  • PooPoo2U, The thing about only "long-term" and violent prisoners being sent to Wallens Ridge is BullShit! I personally know several PEOPLE that were imprisoned there. There were people there for the pettiest crimes and the shortest sentences. David Tracy was constantly harrased by guards for being white and from the ghetto. He was called Nigger-Lover and harrased until his highly mysterious death. You should watch the ENTIRE

  • learn to read before you sit here and reply ignorantly to my comments. the majority of offenders at wallen's ridge ARE long term offenders, and the only ones who aren't are ones sent from other facilities due to overcrowding.

  • I wasn't only referring to your comments, PooPoo(LOL!). The public WAS being told that only the most violent and longest sentenced prisoners would be sent there and that just was not the case. This prison was facing a class action suit from several prisoners, as well as reports from several human rights groups pleading for the closing of this prison due to multiple violaitons of prisoners' human rights.
