the fanatics on the religious right are almost as extreme as those fanatics on the islamic side . both use fear, violence and hate to further their agenda , the worst part is that most religious people do not condemn those who use violence
@darkreaper321 She's confused. Reminds me of a family hiding Jews. When the Gestapo came she, being a Christian could not lie, it cost the lives of the Jewish family. Dragged out and shot. Those were her 'brothers & sisters.'
Sorry. left out a word. Jesus did NOT come to Earth to start a new religion. He came to teach Spiritual Laws. People twist scripture to suit them for political, religious reasons. Now we are in the 'birth pain' of labor as we start the Aquirian age. A new beginning. As a woman surrenders her body to give birth, and the newborn changes her life, all mankind will do. And for the better, the greater good.
Jesus did come to Earth to start religinions. When he referred to a 'church' it was not about religion, it was about people, not a building. Jesus was pro-life, not to die unless it was self defence OR to help another. (like saving someone from a burning building) He brought in the Christ-like energy at the beginning of the Picean age.
@BiGMANJOE32 No, parents should allow their children to decide for themselves what is or isn't bullshit. When you are a child, your parents words are the laws to life... That artificially inflates who is or isn't religious. Wait until they're old enough, and let them decide for themselves what makes sense.
@BiGMANJOE32 if you are talking about responsibility and being responsible, is it responsible to not teach the kids about Allah, Shiva, Buddha, Zeus, Jupiter, Thor, and the sea monster god of the east pacific? Is it responsible to make your child eat pizza every day just because you like pizza, or you believe pizza is the only healthy food ever made? Why just jesus,if you want to be responsible.Bull crap.
@BiGMANJOE32 i know you will say because you know Jesus is the true God /son or son of himself,or father of himself, whatever. But when you only teach about Jesus to your child, you are just transfusing your doctrine into another person.Where is the responsibility? Its like passing a communicable disease advertently to your child.
The woman is saying that when you are life threatening danger you still can't lie about your faith, That is purely stupid what about those people who depend on you , Giving up your life and the lives of your dependents for something as stupid as faith, What the hell is wrong with these people???.

that actor was bullshit has he never heard of the moors, the Islamic army that nearly took over Europe in 730 AD, or the Muslim legions that fought the crusades? Muslims are right up along Christians in that kill count, and in religious oppression as well. don't forget Joan of Ark believed she heard god and she pushed out the tyrannical British, perhaps she was just a crazy bitch and France should really be England part 2 by this logic.
@MAnnaconduit1 the Conquistador killed about 95% of the population in South America, population eclined from 25.2 million in 1518 to 700 thousand people in 1623.
@rydholm you have me there, however i would go onto say while christian and Catholics stopped killing people a while ago in the name of religion, Muslims continue to kill people today, through sharia law. also we all like to point the finger at religion what about atheists? Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, who combined can match a pretty large sum, but lets go further while religious people kill for religion, those atheists who kill, do it to get rid of any form of competition to their rule.
@MAnnaconduit1 Atheists don't kill in the name of atheism, Stalin wanted communism to be a religion so yes, he removed other faiths, but he wasn't exactly sturdy in the mind department. Hitler wasn't an atheist by the way, where do you think his hatred of Jews come from? Check the uniforms of Nazi soldiers and read about him a bit more.
I don't agree entirely about the peaceful Christianity myth, people still kill in the name of Jesus (Breivik?), but it's regarded as a 'psychotic episode'.
@scaryninja1693 Also, there's no logical pathway from 'I don't believe in god' to 'I have to kill religious people', however if you're a bible beliving Christian and it's the perfect word of god and his word must be followed then there is a logical path from 'apostates should be put to death' to 'kill non-Christians'.
@Dagens24 What makes me laugh and worries me at the same time is that if religious folk followed their religions properly and to the letter, they'd be worse than Westboro Baptist Church and worse (though only just) than Islamic extremists. The fact is (and it is a fact), that these religious texts are pure evil, even the sweetest versions of 'God' stem from some wives tale told in a far more immoral time.
Religion is poison, people are animals. Last thing we need is our brains fucked with.

@MAnnaconduit1 another false claim about Hitler, how about reading something about him before making false claims! Here is a quote for you from Mein Kampf, p 65 "Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord." And Stalin followed Karl Marx views like a religion, not really an atheist in my opinion, war against the elite. Well, Pol Pot was supported by USA...
SIGMUND FREUD was bat shit, i have taken psychology courses where even the teachers call Freud insane, he only created his theories to explain his own sick fetishes and used examples from history. oh and yes we do not have the freedom to save ourselves by saying whatever we can to survive, you got a fanatic right here bill shoot her.

Atheist means to not believe in a higher power, there are no rules to atheism such as how Christians have the Ten Commandments, so it is unfair to suggest that communist ideology is a result of atheism. I am an agnostic and believe in democratic socialism based on the principles of altruistic humanism.

Modern neuroscience has a more cogent analysis of what religion is and how it works. I love me my Freud, but the man was plain wrong is so many circumstances.
Freud has been discredited by modern psychology. I'm all for science and am an atheist, but if you're going to pretend religion is absurd based on the claims of an outdated pseudo-scientist who is only relevant in popular culture, you're committing the same error as religious apologists.
@zammmerjammer The Oedipus Complex is no longer regarded as a mental illness, but rather a state of mind. It's regarded as a set of emotions commonly related to those with child-like minds (including children themselves). Remember the Superego states; the Oedipus Complex is part of the Child Superego state. So no, it's not a mental illness but it's arguably a poor state of mind to adopt.
The middle eastern guy & the broad both said that "it is perfectly fine to lay down your life for Jesus" & nobody piped up & said anything! Bill, you missed it buddy. They both said it so nonchalantly, yeah, perfectly fine to lay down your life for Jesus & don't say whatever it takes to save your life in a horrific situation like they described with animals holding you captive (animals because they are terrorist murderers not because they are Muslim). No... SAY WHAT YOU MUST TO SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!
Shitting insane Christian terrorists murdered 1 million innocent people in Iraq, and they did it for the glory of their Christian gods. Christian terrorism is far worse than the Islamic terrorism of their shitting Islamic cult savage colleagues.
The world's religious are *all* fucking insane cult savages.
Religion is the ultimate tool for mass manipulation.ask any conservative politician and they will explain it to you exactly as they want you to see it.
Though I must add, the psychoanalysis is not falsefiable and therefor pure crap. Atleast as a method. But many of Freuds arguments are solid, and an awesome platform to do science on. Am I wrong? =)
@LAKings777 In his words "The gods retain the threefold task: they must exorcize the terrors of nature, they must reconcile men to the cruelty of Fate, particularly as it is shown in death, and they must compensate them for the sufferings and privations which a civilized life in common has imposed on them." (pg. 19)
@ReligionMASSillusion Actually Freud's view of religion was indeed that it was a primitive human fallacy, but that it resulted not from the Oedipal complex, which regulates psychosexual development, but from a "feeling of the oceanic," a desire to be connected to all life and all humanity (or at least to fellow members of your religion). Read Freud's "Civilization and its Discontents," which was published in 1930, 3 years after your bible and explains his revised view.
@LAKings777 Psychoanalysis of religion Religion is an outshoot of the Oedipus complex, and represents man's helplessness in the world, having to face the ultimate fate of death, the struggle of civilization, and the forces of nature. He views god as a manifestation of a child-like "longing for [a] father." (pg. 18)
maher is an anti-theist. plainly being anti religion is not going to resolve matters as millions follow beliefs. freud would have stressed on mutual respect as many psychologists accept the benefits of religion and belongingness. And the bitch is stupid. It's extremism in all ideologies. Maher sounds as zealot as the mullahs who refuse to accommodate others
Who else wants to slap that bitch?

Of course that begs the question: "Which Jesus?" It varies, depending on which drooling nut case you ask!

Sorry. left out a word. And for the better, the greater good.
stephen52100 1 month ago
Jesus did come to Earth to start religinions. When he referred to a 'church' it was not about religion, it was about people, not a building. Jesus was pro-life, not to die unless it was self defence OR to help another. (like saving someone from a burning building) He brought in the Christ-like energy at the beginning of the Picean age.

To be honest I think the parents should be teaching their kids about jesus not sending them to a total stranger. Wheres the responsibility
BiGMANJOE32 2 months ago
@BiGMANJOE32 No, parents should allow their children to decide for themselves what is or isn't bullshit. When you are a child, your parents words are the laws to life... That artificially inflates who is or isn't religious. Wait until they're old enough, and let them decide for themselves what makes sense.
picassopainter2 1 month ago
@BiGMANJOE32 if you are talking about responsibility and being responsible, is it responsible to not teach the kids about Allah, Shiva, Buddha, Zeus, Jupiter, Thor, and the sea monster god of the east pacific? Is it responsible to make your child eat pizza every day just because you like pizza, or you believe pizza is the only healthy food ever made? Why just jesus,if you want to be responsible.Bull crap.
sushanalone 1 month ago
@BiGMANJOE32 i know you will say because you know Jesus is the true God /son or son of himself,or father of himself, whatever. But when you only teach about Jesus to your child, you are just transfusing your doctrine into another person.Where is the responsibility? Its like passing a communicable disease advertently to your child.

ReligionMASSillusion 2 months ago 20
@ReligionMASSillusion What we perceive to be a day or the amount of time of what a day is considered now is much more than what an actual day was when the universe and our galaxy was being created so technically it could have been created in "seven days"

that actor was bullshit has he never heard of the moors, the Islamic army that nearly took over Europe in 730 AD, or the Muslim legions that fought the crusades? Muslims are right up along Christians in that kill count, and in religious oppression as well. don't forget Joan of Ark believed she heard god and she pushed out the tyrannical British, perhaps she was just a crazy bitch and France should really be England part 2 by this logic.

@MAnnaconduit1 the Conquistador killed about 95% of the population in South America, population eclined from 25.2 million in 1518 to 700 thousand people in 1623.
rydholm 2 months ago
@rydholm you have me there, however i would go onto say while christian and Catholics stopped killing people a while ago in the name of religion, Muslims continue to kill people today, through sharia law. also we all like to point the finger at religion what about atheists? Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, who combined can match a pretty large sum, but lets go further while religious people kill for religion, those atheists who kill, do it to get rid of any form of competition to their rule.
MAnnaconduit1 2 months ago
@MAnnaconduit1 Atheists don't kill in the name of atheism, Stalin wanted communism to be a religion so yes, he removed other faiths, but he wasn't exactly sturdy in the mind department. Hitler wasn't an atheist by the way, where do you think his hatred of Jews come from? Check the uniforms of Nazi soldiers and read about him a bit more.
I don't agree entirely about the peaceful Christianity myth, people still kill in the name of Jesus (Breivik?), but it's regarded as a 'psychotic episode'.
scaryninja1693 2 months ago
@scaryninja1693 Also, there's no logical pathway from 'I don't believe in god' to 'I have to kill religious people', however if you're a bible beliving Christian and it's the perfect word of god and his word must be followed then there is a logical path from 'apostates should be put to death' to 'kill non-Christians'.
Dagens24 2 months ago

Atheist means to not believe in a higher power, there are no rules to atheism such as how Christians have the Ten Commandments, so it is unfair to suggest that communist ideology is a result of atheism. I am an agnostic and believe in democratic socialism based on the principles of altruistic humanism.

ReligionMASSillusion 6 months ago 12
@ReligionMASSillusion Actually Freud's view of religion was indeed that it was a primitive human fallacy, but that it resulted not from the Oedipal complex, which regulates psychosexual development, but from a "feeling of the oceanic," a desire to be connected to all life and all humanity (or at least to fellow members of your religion). Read Freud's "Civilization and its Discontents," which was published in 1930, 3 years after your bible and explains his revised view.
starwarsgeek8 4 months ago
@LAKings777 Psychoanalysis of religion Religion is an outshoot of the Oedipus complex, and represents man's helplessness in the world, having to face the ultimate fate of death, the struggle of civilization, and the forces of nature. He views god as a manifestation of a child-like "longing for [a] father." (pg. 18)
