you are so annoying! You're exactly like Kate Gosselin! Talk normal, without all your raises in your voice!!! I have an idea! While your kids are watching DVD's in the car, jump out of the moving van. Do them and us a favor! They don't need an annoying mommy! And we'll be without your annoying voice on Youtube!!!
bad thing...you may start off using it only on long trips, but soon enough, it will be going on more and more...i see soccer moms driving in rush hour traffic...they aren't on long trips at all...but there it is, the DVD is on for the kids....i do not know who i feel more sorry for, the kids or the parents? i for one am glad we didn't have that when my kids were young...instead, we popped in a cassette (what's that lol) and let the kids sing away...both are now aspiring musicians...go figure...
i think TV has consumed everyone. people seem to be so bored without it, and a lot of moms use it as a babysitter. if your driving around town, go buy a Raffi CD and sing with your children. long trips, i can understand watching a movie when all else fails. You remember the "National Lampoons" vacation movies... they didnt have DVD in the car... that was family time.
i think its great i remember when i was little my parents bought a adapter n we brought a small t v and vcr on our trip from fl to ny that was a life saver for them and as for leting them use it i say let them whenever they like
Definitely for long trips! When my kids were little, we brought a tiny battery TV along and it was great! Just enough diversion to keep them happy "for a little while". haha! Just don't make it something they get EVERYTIME they are in the car. Make it special for the trips.
My mom played the Sound of Music soundtrack for us. :3

My oldest is 9 youngest 4 and while we don't have one in the car, when we go on a "longish" trip, we borrow one and it is nice.
