I really hope you answer this. I have a grayson hobby supersonic v2 motor laying around and i really want to build this, could i use that motor? its 2200kv
ok guys is this better than mikeys origional FPV pusher plane, i have built the origional one but need another, so i want to build either this or the old one, any suggestions
No way if you put a gopro in front + vtx and stuff in it, it will fly slow or smooth , its just to small make one 20 % bigger at least ... or put on a vid flying wit all the extra weight.
@EwaltFpv Interesting comment. Actually at the end of the video it's flying with a Flip video camera and a decent size wide angle lens on it.....which is similar in weight to a GoPro A video TX and battery to power it wouldn't add that much more weight. I know it looks small but it has gobs of wing area. How bout you build one (plans are FREE on my site) and try it out then us know what you think. Real life testing AND Flitetests' video prove it will fly slow / stable w/GoPro FPV.
Very nice and unique design. It sure seems to fly stable, too! I'm looking forward to your plans link going live - I want to try this one as an FPV ship. Keep up the great work!
Actually, if you compare the version 2 planes video to this one, version 2 is much smoother. The video here is quite jerky and hard on the eyes. This plane looks a lot better though.
Another great idea Will. Looks very stable at low speed which most of us novices appreciate and the pro's like for FPV. Are there any PDF plans yet Nice video
wow man you are a true builder!!! i was wondering if you was going to do how to videos for this one ?? i really would like to build this plane but im the kind that needs a lil outside help...
Well i couldn't wait for the plans to come out so i built this plane from scratch based off the prop size for measurement. Took it out today and it was one of the best flying planes you have made yet. This thing is super stable and will be my new video plane. Keep up the great work and your planes are just awesome.
Wow what an amazing plane cant wait till the plans come out. You really have a great imagination and the skills to make you scratch planes work. I have tried to build a few scratch planes but they never fly as well as yours do. Keep up the great work.
@MikeysRC but is´nt the objective here is a stable plane for smooth as posible for aerial recording ..its just an idea i have thes random ideas you never know if they work (i have a emergency parachute on my plane just incase)
All I can say is wow. I kept my mouth open through the whole video in absolute awe. What a beautiful looking plane, very unique design and it flies so well. Will, you have done it again! Can't wait for the plans!
@justfly60482 Soon I hope but I would like to finish / publish the plans for my Sci-Fi jert first since I did that one a couple weeks ago. I do hope to make some FPV vids with it. I'm shopping for cameras righ now.
@FairviewRCflier Yeah I'm having lots of fun doin it. I hope to pass on the fun to you guys too. It's part of what drives me to make the PDF's and new unique plane designs.
@MountainSnowFlyer I have tried it in a slightly gusty day. The wings do rock around a little but it will not flip over. IT has plenty of power to push through a decent wind. Cool thing is making it "hover" when flying into a breeze.
Thanks Will! I'm a beginner and the first plane i ever flew is your F117 and I flew it with a 64 mm ducted fan! Didn't even crash it thanks to simulator time :D
It was quite fast and the park I flew didn't have much space, but the plane floats really well too, so I had some smooth landings too! Now time to build this slow plane which is great for the park I fly in!
Ooweeee, how cool it is. I would like to know what scale it is. I am wondering because you said that it will carry a go pro camera. Thank you please get back.
I am surprised you did use the nose for the battery pack to keep the square tube(s) clear to help with stability and lift. It is very cute and I can see why it would be a slow flyer, which I like even more. Very nice design. Very much like a bib-Wing.
@Tsavah Actually the reason I put the e battery on the nose like how you saw it was because I was flying it with no camera on board. So the flight battery HAS to be up there to make the plane balance properly. When the camera is on the nose then the battery is mounted under the plane in the "square tubes".
Having great fun flying your cargo plane and pylon racer.I shall wait eagerly for the plans for your latest very unique creation. Keep up the good work!
@MobileMediaProducts Yeah I know......sometimes I suprise myself with how ugly I can make a plane =). I'm not sure I understand the pin across nose question.
@MikeysRC In the shots where you were describing the nose, it looked to me like there was a wire or pin / axle across the nose of the plane? One of the ways that you could make that plane look better, I think, would be graphics. For example, it has a lot of squared-off corners. If you waited the wings, and made curves in the painting, the lines of the curves would read better than the squared-off corners. Just a suggestion.
@MobileMediaProducts OK, got'cha. That line is actually where I cut the nose of the plane to shorten it. It's just a pen / glue line. Yeah graphics would be cool. Often times my planes lack that.
This just might be one of the best designs I've seen yet. Very nice job. Are the plans available anywhere? I'd love to know what you used for a motor and prop. Great job on the plane and a great video. Liked and Fav'd.
@rgthd007 Plans are not out yet. I'll let you guys all know when the plans are done. Motor and prop info is listed under the video. Just click on "Show more" There is nothing special about the motor I used.
Next year when I have more free time I am going to build some of these plane. Sorry we never hooked up a year or two ago down at BaySide RC Club. So glad you are still making these planes! Please keep up the great work!
@ONPRIEL I don't use depron. Too expensive and still has to be reienforced with carbon fiber. I use hot glue but I'm using foam board. A low temp gun should be ok to use with depron.
@ONPRIEL BTW....Epoxy will NOT melt Depron. It took me a few months to realize that. I still use hot glue for the most part, but for components that have a lot of stress or areas that you don't want to flex(motor mounts wing spars, epoxy is the bees knees!

Aside from the awesome plane (I'll be watching for the PDF) it's 2 rather random things.
1. Large parking lot in what appears to be the middle of nowhere
2. 2 Google street views cars driving around in a residential looking plan....but with no homes.
Thanks for the vid Will
