i live in cuba and i went up to the rainbow gathering it was the coolest thing i have ever seen it was so peaceful and really awesome lol they were so nice i met alot of really cool people
Wow if you agree with what the goers to the rainbow gatherings believe or not back the f off all you haters, the environmental destruction made by American corporations is gonna spell the death of you and your children not a bunch of hippies camping, playing music and praying for peace in the woods for a week. So the ones posting positive messages of love and peace received many thumbs down. Then there are the ones spreading hate which get all thumbs up, not just for this vid but all recent videos on the gathering.
To me this makes no sense, why move backwards to the days of hate, when we all can move forward towards peace and exceptance ?

What environmental destruction? Have you not seen any of the clean up reports? Talk to some local forest service from the Big Sandy area if you are concerned. That is where the gathering was last year, and the local forest service was more than happy with the clean up by the rainbows.

A bunch of hippies living in the woods for a week, then cleaning up, may stress an area....which is why we dont hold it in the same place twice. You're right about the cultural apropriation. Great Lakes tribal council voted unanimously to stop the gathering in Michigan's National forests, but they see themselves as the new improved white indians. They didn't listen and came anyway. Also left behind their dogs. The wild dog population is now a problem in Michigan. The drumming, the teepees, the medicine wheel 'ceremonies' are all deeply offensive to me as an indigenous/queer. Did the FN ppl of NM give THEIR permission? I bet not.
If you are concerned about the environment do a search for reports done by the local forest service, every one I have been able to find was not only positive, but most said they left the land even better than before they arrived. The rainbow family puts a lot of work into making sure than within 12 months you can not even tell there was a gathering there. :) I seen some cannabis at the gathering, but no more than at any other outdoor festival... and I seen 0 hard drugs. Even alcohol is rare.

and you'll make good money in your stores if you stock up on snicker bars, propane fuel and flashlight batteries, toilet paper and such. ask the merchants and restaurant folks of rio piedras how well they did financially during their summer of he rainbows.
