if you watch the other videos, her acting is not as strong as gonzales's. and, although arielle's voice is very impressive, in my opinion it sounds like it still needs time to mature. anyone agree? she's cute, but no one touches mandy!

Her mother is 1st generation immigrant, came to the US, became college educated.... so Yes; she understands the immigrant struggle, the desire to better oneself from her grandparents. Her mother IS the story of In The Heights! And... fyi, as you talk about christina & jessica -- jessica's dad is cuban but her mom is part chinese, french...!

She's much different than both of them with the shorter hair, and although its not a deal-breaker, it definitely changes my opinions. @SexyHogwarts I think I disagree. I saw her live and she her voice was plenty powerful. And I think she's better than Jordin Sparks to be honest. I've seen Jordin's videos and she's fantastic, don't get me wrong, but she doesn't connect as well emotionally as Arielle did.

@yobsterrish Yea she's a way better actor then Jordin. I have to say I like her more then Jordin! Sparks is a good singer and all but she can't command broadway like others can. Broadway is something you have to work really hard for, you have to be the best to be on broadway. And even though her voice rocks she has to work on everything else. Idk but Arielle isn't believable to me. I guess I just can never get Mandy Gonzalez out of my head! Now that's a broadway start all the way!!!

When Mandy said it, it sounded like an educated, sophisticated WOMAN. The power of the story is felt deeper through a younger Nina, as much as I LOVE Mandy, Arielle is a better suited for the role.

I saw her back when the show was touring in Houston, and my goodness. Her voice blew me away. :) I love her vulnerability to the song and she definitely sang it with heart. Not all broadway stars do that.

In my opinion - unfortunately I was disappointed in her performance about a few days ago. I saw this musical in NY and LOVED the entire cast! This time I got to see Lin Manuel play Usnavi - so I guess it all balanced out. :)

I identify w/Nina big time and I'm afraid her voice and acting doesn't have the heart and soul that Nina's character should portray. She's young though, lots of talent and I'm sure she'll continue to have success. Just don't think she's ready for this particular character.
