I remember seeing Angel Melendez in Greenwich Village all of the time. Every time I saw him I would say to myself "Wow, he's short." I hoestly thing the guys could have gotten away with the murder, but they were so high on drugs they couldnt think things throught clearly! With a sober mind they could have took that secret to the grave.

The club kid scene was already almost done when he was arrested. I feel the club scene then was 300% more fun.

The moment the news came out that they had found a head in a box in the water and then made known that it was someone from the Tunnel, I knew it was time to lay low from the club scene. The drugs in each of the clubs at the time got really out of control and certain party people were strung out. Sort of they knew when Studio 54 was coming to the end.

Both of them are still in jail. Michael has tried to apply for probation but now has to wait until March next year before he can try again. I don't think he should've been hung for what he did, they were on so many drugs that they couldn't be held responsible for what happened. What happened wasn't Angel's fault however he had hit Michael a few days previous to his murder and James St James did tell him he should've left the apartment then, and he didn't even like Angel.

Well i was living in Ny goping to art school at the time...i did enjoy some partying but my focus was school...i remeber meeting these people and at some poit it was inspiring to see so much freedom....but didnt like the negative part of it like drugs, etc....

No offense I appreciate all music, but this is a very bad choice. Papa Roach, doesn't fit the time period. These kids were very much linked to the music at that time. And, this could not be any more wrong for these pics. If you are looking for ways to promote Papa Roach you should just do pictures of them and their music. @sunsetwhore ugh, he didnt even kill him, if anything freeze did, they got him for disposal, it really was self defense either way! Angel was choking michael and had SLAMMED HIM into a layer of glass. He was BITING INTO HIS CHEST! Freeze was telling angel to get off, he wouldnt, so he hit him with a hammer. That only made angel angrier, and he kept biting him and choking him. So freeze hit him again, not enough, the third blow cracked open his skull.

@sunsetwhore Michael was pissed because he was breaking, with shard of glass in his back, and so when angel fell off of him, he pushed angels face down onto a pillow, which in his drug induced state thought it would only stop him from biting him. They went to do some of his drugs to calm down, and when they came back he was dead. and they even tried to revive him in cold water. They panicked and disposed of the body...

so sad. I was there. Angel was my dealer, I remember when he disappeared. Freeze was a good friend, sweet as they come. Many k-holes together. Michael was fascinating> I remember asking him what it was like to murder someone(before he got caught). He said "it takes a lot of practice".
In June 2000 I got arrested on 3 felony charges for conspiracy to have heroin brought into a maximum security prison for Michael. I lost 5 years of my freedom.
I stopped writing Michael this year

Angel's murder was the reason I stopped clubbing.
The moment the news came out that they had found a head in a box in the water and then made known that it was someone from the Tunnel, I knew it was time to lay low from the club scene. The drugs in each of the clubs at the time got really out of control and certain party people were strung out. Sort of they knew when Studio 54 was coming to the end.

Both of them are still in jail. Michael has tried to apply for probation but now has to wait until March next year before he can try again. I don't think he should've been hung for what he did, they were on so many drugs that they couldn't be held responsible for what happened. What happened wasn't Angel's fault however he had hit Michael a few days previous to his murder and James St James did tell him he should've left the apartment then, and he didn't even like Angel.

LOL. Thanks 4 responding! DJ Keoki just played at the club I work at in WPB, FL, last month. He was one of the 1st DJ's I liked, back in '96, but I'd been in the scene since '94. I thought maybe some good ol' House or maybe some Trance would have been more befitting. But, WHATEVER! Since watching Party Monster and meeting Keoki(he's reeeally kewl!) Hes still in jail from what I know, but he could be on probation. Him and Michael were in the same prision for a good measure of the time they spent in jail. Michael is still in jail, but its very possible that Freeze could be on probation.

Well i was living in Ny goping to art school at the time...i did enjoy some partying but my focus was school...i remeber meeting these people and at some poit it was inspiring to see so much freedom....but didnt like the negative part of it like drugs, etc....

i met them both....Angel the victim was very nice guy....never saw him fucked up, and was very polite..people didnt like him cause they thought of him as cheesy...(they were very superficial)....actually the partying was crazier than what you see in the movie.....they did so much drugs it was disgusting!....it wasnt all negative though...we did have tones of fun

I would have to say Freeze's version only because Micheal clearly states in just about every interview since then that he has trouble remembering things...I remember them being on Sally Jesse Rafael in the late 80's and he was asked a simple Q and his answer was to pretty much say "um who me? I don't remember things most of the time."
