god i love the debate over the Twilight type of vampire vs the True Blood type of vampire. To me, i like bother series, twilight the true blood for the much younger crowd in my opinion. Sparkling vampires are the least of Twilight's problems. They've taken away nearly everything that makes vampires vampires, there is nothing threatening or monster-like about them, it's all clean and pretty. Bella is a horrible protagonist, she's weak and clingy and childish and helpless and just a terrible role model for young girls. Even though Sookie has several men trying to protect her, she can stand up for herself and take care of herself, she doesn't need a man to validate her existence.

You're not listening. Frozen means it is in a solid state. Can solid rock flow like water? And a frozen bodily fluid would not make skin impenetrable. Ever. If their skin was impenetrable, it would lack the elasticity needed for them to move at all. They'd be statues.
You're trying to have both the scientific and the supernatural. They're not compatible. You can't have it both ways, especially when you have no understanding of even basic biological or physical science.
the legend of vampires can in fact be explained through science, the body being really durable could be that the whatever of a vampire changes the physiology of a person, giving them "symptoms" of the vampire, like an infected person in 28 days later becoming a zombie. the need for blood, everything can be explained with science. my problem is only with twilight, meyer did not use science at all, true blood's vampire's not knowing how they work is fine, twilight fails because it makes no sense.

The god-awful attempts at science are only one thing. The fact is Meyer is a hack who wrote a badly paced cliche story using almost every trope in the genre and then dressed it up in incomprehensible purple prose. The characters are 1-dimensional and unlikeable, continuity is tenuous at best, and the whole thing reads like its own fanfiction. Telling outweighs showings, and the whole thing reeks of fascist aesthetics as defined by Susan Sontag (Google it).

Twilight and True Blood are two seperate things and it'll stay that way. That girl asking about a half-blood baby was dumb for asking such a question.
I love both Twilight and True Blood but True Blood will continue going strong because of its depth and how big the universe of that series is. Twilight was good but felt a little contained you know? Like it didnt really expand. It was stuck in Forks and there was a small bridge to Italy and that's about it. True Blood, you get to see everything!

god i love the debate over the Twilight type of vampire vs the True Blood type of vampire. To me, i like bother series, twilight the true blood for the much younger crowd in my opinion. I feel like SM got a lot of her ideas from CH (once again, my opinion. But nevertheless, i enjoy both books/series/movies for both.

OHHH, twilight dissed!!!! It seemed like no one in the panal except alan knew what the big deal was about the idea of a half vampire baby. I personally love both twilight and TB( maybe true blood a little bit more). But breaking dawn was the worst book of the twilight series. Nothing exciting happened. Very dull. Sparkling vampires are the least of Twilight's problems. They've taken away nearly everything that makes vampires vampires, there is nothing threatening or monster-like about them, it's all clean and pretty. Bella is a horrible protagonist, she's weak and clingy and childish and helpless and just a terrible role model for young girls. Even though Sookie has several men trying to protect her, she can stand up for herself and take care of herself, she doesn't need a man to validate her existence.

I have read twilight as well and I have no recollection of any mention of their venom being the cause of their erections lol. Now I'm just confused. People need to accept that both these types of vampires are different. Just as vampires have changed over the years. True Blood just stays true to the classic vampires as Twilight tries to go a whole new direction. yes, i think that their blood doesnt flow, unless it needs to [for example-the erection] and their semen is probably not frozen. but their blood is made up of some special substance that can be frozen and make their skin impenetrable. i mean "special" because the vampires in books [true blood and i think twilight] dont even know how their bodies work the way they do. and after all the research they couldve done in their entire lives, THEY cant even find an explanation.

You're not listening. Frozen means it is in a solid state. Can solid rock flow like water? And a frozen bodily fluid would not make skin impenetrable. Ever. If their skin was impenetrable, it would lack the elasticity needed for them to move at all. They'd be statues.

the legend of vampires can in fact be explained through science, the body being really durable could be that the whatever of a vampire changes the physiology of a person, giving them "symptoms" of the vampire, like an infected person in 28 days later becoming a zombie. the need for blood, everything can be explained with science. my problem is only with twilight, meyer did not use science at all, true blood's vampire's not knowing how they work is fine, twilight fails because it makes no sense.

The god-awful attempts at science are only one thing. The fact is Meyer is a hack who wrote a badly paced cliche story using almost every trope in the genre and then dressed it up in incomprehensible purple prose. The characters are 1-dimensional and unlikeable, continuity is tenuous at best, and the whole thing reads like its own fanfiction. Telling outweighs showings, and the whole thing reeks of fascist aesthetics as defined by Susan Sontag (Google it).
