  • Real men turn their rings out when they do ring dips.

  • Lock those rings out brother!

  • ring dips should be done so that you turn your wrist to the outside at the end. it's much much harder that way

  • DIPS... THE UPPER BODY SQUAT

  • 0:56 he took a likin' to jonsey

  • ive never tried the ring dips. im pretty good at regular dips, but this looks like a fun new challenge for me.

  • Barely got 5 out... Yea, it really looks like you guys practice what you preach.

  • that'll but muscle on you faster than anything

  • fag in the gray

  • if you can do this exercice you're a real man!If you cant you are a jelly fish

  • 2 fuking gays

  • Ring Training is a great workout! Everyone has their own rountines and techniques, but in the end all muscle groups are called into work which improves muscle endurance, strength and stability!

  • Great job !

  • i bought some and thought i'd be fine. How wrong was I! Struggled just to hold the support position to start with and then moved onto supported dips. Then woke up one day and could manage 1! Not too bad on them now..... they are monstrously hard

  • @eonuk yeah same here, first time i could only manage 3 or 4 reps but after a couple of weeks got up to 30 odd. great fun these. take you out your comfort zone!

  • you are suppose to lock your arms at the full extension, and the wider you go and the longer the rings the harder it is.

  • not necessarily you can lock your arms to give a rest in between reps but it doesnt have to be done and the width of you arms is about making the exercise harder its about different emphasis on muscle groups.

  • thats not a full extension at the top

  • @MegaProper you're not supposed to lock your elbow out all the way. some people have elbows that over extend when locked out. and doing that fucks them up.

  • @Holcomb227 you should try and plead your case to the Olympic gymnastics committee because they require a full lockout. Nice try feeding people your bullshit opinion.

  • @jsanto1214 the Olympics are wrong.

  • @Holcomb227 actually, you are ;) fully locking out builds the tendons and ligaments in your elbow, thus making it stronger and able to support more weight. Have fun shortening your muscles :)

  • @jsanto1214 lets see whos stronger post your max squat and give your body weight.

  • @Holcomb227 you are funny. The squat is not an end all say all for determining who is stronger. It just measures who can squat more. Also, it depends on how you squat. Front squat. high/low bar squat. Overhead. Rock bottoms. We could always meet up and wrestle? We could see who can carry a full keg on their backs farther. How about the deadlift? Bench press? Maybe we can see who can chop a tree down faster. Or jump higher. Come on man. Stop exhibiting your ignorance to me.

  • @jsanto1214 let's just stop. no one is going to win this argument. some things work for some people and other things work for other people. And i'd feel embarrassed if one of my friends or my family saw that I had been arguing over the internet. BTW you are right about building tendons/ligaments. I was just too proud to admit it, and thought I could probably beat you in a overhead squat competition.

  • @MegaProper completely not a full extension at the top. His elbows should be locked and his palms turned forward.

  • bar dips are amateur. ring dips are monstrous. much harder than they look. these can boost your bench press or replace it entirely. no joke.

i've felt these in the lats, pectorals, triceps, and traps. they even pump up the biceps for some reason. a ridiculously comprehensive exercise on par with the pullup. do them.

  • Correct, Ive seen some strong guys when put on the rings for the first time they get owned big time.

  • No doubt, that's why gymnasts have a very high strength to bodyweight ratio.

  • @gtrgy888

I agree, I can do quite a few regular dips but am still working on a full dip on our set of rings. I can muscle through bar dips with shoulders but the stabilization required on rings is very much different...

  • I remember the first time I jumped on some rings and traps and delts were shaking for dear life, it was insane. I'm now a proud owner of rings and can do 33 in a row!

  • nice, tougher to do, because normal exercises normally dont target the muscle stabilizers.
