I'm curious, what with the dog being allowed to bite the one in the stall? Is he trying to move it out? Or is the dog just a bit full of steam? Looked like the animal was scarred up from being bitten there.

The bitch is workig. She is moving the cattle trough the pen. Helping us to work with the cattle.

Herding dogs are supposed to have a "bite" because on a ranch the cows -or sheep or goats- can get pretty rank... They will challenge the dog. So, the dog was telling the animal to get his butt movin. A seasoned dog knows how hard to bite -and when- so it's not too hard and doesn't hurt them. My GSD will take a sheep to the ground without chomping hard -we put her on cows though, no more tackle problems-. That is a very very nice dog, thanks for posting :)
