  • I once did CPR on my stuffed animal. It was a first aid program for kids xP

  • Comment removed

  • i've been told how to do it loads of times but i always forget....

  • Nice demonstration, thanks. I've been certified for years but I'm always afraid I'll forget what to do in an emergency, so I like to watch something like this once a week just to refresh. I've never had to use CPR, and I hope I never have to. But if I do, I want to do it correctly.

  • @vtorialyn Then this may not be the video for you to watch :p

The first thing you do after having checked for breathing is give 30 chest compressions (almost 2 times faster than he is doing them). No breathing means no circulation, so it's no use doing a pulse check. It's not harmful to give chest compressions when someone does have a pulse anyway. Then 2 breaths and 30 compressions after. You give 2 breaths before compressions because there's still sufficient oxygen in the blood. ;)

  • By the time I'm done watching this my grandmothers dead ..

  • Is it 30x that I need to press the chest after the mouth to mouth ..?

  • he's not fast enough on the compressions

  • LET'S ASSUME NOT EVERYBODY HAS THAT THINGY WITH WHICH HE BREATHES IN HIS MOOOUUUTHHH

  • @IonVJohn you man up and do mouth to mouth. if you can see an std on their mouth or just don't feel comfortable, just do the chest compressions

  • @QwertySkill Not a problem for disgust, It's the order

First 2 mouth to mouths, then 30 CPR'?

  • @IonVJohn ye :]

  • lets just say if this was an emergency these youtube adds would not help

  • FARTING noise xD

  • thanks for sharing, before this we use a-b-c technique now we change it to c-a-b.. compressions first after chin up the victims, then air way and breathing.

  • this is the old way. this need to updated

  • @333daz Yes, it is outdated. I just got certified and this isn't used anymore.

  • Yippeeeeeeeeeee Now I can hopefully help someone but knowing my luck as soon as they wake up they say "RAPE" and I go "WTF" =(

  • first you check for responsiveness then you check for signs of breathing AND check the cervical pulse idiot! That's how you determine weather or not you preform CPR or rescue breathing... there's a difference. If there's a pulse you do RB if there isn't or it's less than 60 beats a min you do CPR.

CPR is a combination of chest compressions and rescue breathing. You have to do the compressions first THEN you do the breathing.

I'm taking an EMR class, this guys made alot of mistakes....

  • @FLhardcore772 yeah right cervical pulse lol.... u meant carotid pulse right :D for infant brachial pulse anyway victim has to be PULSELESS obviously when there's arrhythmia there's also apnea :D... to perform cpr to person that has pulse only its less than 60bpm. you are gonna get a punch in the face from a sleeping folk who probably just have asymptomatic bradycardia. or worst you are gonna get sued for assault / battery. if unconscious not breathing but has pulse you do Rescue Breathing

  • @mangdolphy I knew it was the pulse in the neck dick head, i just got the name wrong everything else I said is correct...

  • @FLhardcore772 thats what you get for being smartass lol. everything you said is correct really!! LOL....you better go back to your so called training ;)... you said if pulse is less than 60bpm you do cpr lol...LITTLE KNOWLEDGE IS DANGEROUS MY FRIEND. say pulse is 59bpm you will do cpr lol again.... you should not call somebody an IDIOT if you urself is. hope u learned ur lesson my friend.

  • at 1:17 he pulled the head back and it cracked.. lol

  • He didn't give any indications about the breathing, I was once at a lecture about his, and I heard something about being careful with the breathing, or it could do serious damage to the other person's lung. Is that true?

  • hello my name is quentin,im certified in cpr/aed. if you have the mask on you then great go ahead and use it, but if you dont then you can still perform cpr WITHOUT THE MASK aslong as you feel comfortable. if not then you can still check to see if the subjest is breathing, has a pulse, and also see if he is unconscious or is conscious. after that then you can perfom chest compressions.

  • 3 year old video, unfortunately out of date procedures but anything is better than nothing. If you want to do it right attend a first aid course.

  • I don't have that plastic thing and I'm not kissing him....gross!

  • My dad is having a F'n heart attack and I have to watch this crap with an ad? Are you kidding me?

  • DO DRS ABCD DUHH

  • @TheSarah2445 WRONG!!!!! Its CAB according to the 2010 AHA for Health care providers. The only people still doing ABC are the late public

  • This is the barbaric way of doing CPR. CPR now does not require mouth to mouth. All you need to do is chest compression at 100 bpm.

  • This is wrong, please thumbs up. 1. He took too much time to take his mask out and put it in the mouth, when someone isn't breathing and has no pulse, literally every nanosecond counts. The brain can only last for so long without oxygen before chemicals are released that make the brain literally start eating itself.

  • 265 ppl were too stupid to get into a university.

  • @thetrollking124 Yes sir.

  • What the heck...the man died if the dummy is real...because the time he was getting the mask from his pocket the man is dying... and when he got the mask..... the man just died

  • @okemonp2010 This whole video is wrong.

  • Unfortunately, the compressions per minute displayed in this video are too slow and should be about double the speed at 120-140 compressions per minute (2 per second) according to my first aid course. But the rest is completely correct :D

  • @1easterling3 yeahhhhh we were taught to count to the beat of stayin alive, thats how fast you should be going! :P

  • Comment removed

  • only 205, 101 views? why not like 400,000,000 ???? wtf people are stupid

  • wtf man we don't have that equipment.. this guy thinks everyone got all the paramedic stuff in their trunk...

  • This taught us by Dr Dankar

  • ABC-> CAB

  • @fritz908

New guidelines are compressions only. Apparently well performed compressions ventilate the lungs enough.

  • so why is he using a mask for the dummy not everyone has a mask is he afraid the dummy might give him something.

  • @g00545952 what, you didnt kno that dummies can be really promiscuous...lol.

  • While commencing CPR shouldn't you look at at the casualty while doing those 30 compressions?

  • At 0:27, his right hand should be on the subject's abdomen to feel for any rising or falling that indicates breathing.

  • I know i'm no expert but don't you have to like check if anything is blocking his airways?

  • Comment removed

  • anyone please respond to this question:

after determining if there's NO response, should the Savior go straight to the pulse to determine if commencing CPR is needed right at that very moment?

i was conveyed to these steps:

    1 check for a response

2a if NO response, check for a pulse

2b if NO pulse, commence CPR

3a if there is a pulse, check for respiration

3b if NO respiration, provide rescue breaths

3c if rescue breaths are ineffective due to stomach not going up or down, perform abdominal

  • @thaimilktea we should give an initial 30 compressions if there is no response from the victim.

we need this compression so that we could supply the brain with oxygenated blood. after this check for the airway, if there is any obstructions, then the breathing.

Commence CPR if there is still no response, breathing and pulse.

    +pulse, - respiration = rescue breathing

    -pulse, -respiration = CPR.

  • he failed at the first step he did not use his drabc!!!! He should have checked for further danger to himself or the casualty before he even considered to start his chect compressions!!!

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO CHIN LIFT ASSHOLE

  • @xingyimaster1987 at 0:26 he lifts his chin

  • in the description it says "See a demonstration of an expert performing CPR in this free first aid video." So it should be 'Free' its learning people to save lives, why wouldnt it be free.....

  • those compressions are too slow

  • @pink25chic Your looking at 120 compressions per min, and 1 sec breaths, his are slow i agree this video needs to be removed!!!

  • is it the same with someone that has a lower body?

  • Prior to 2010 this had been good. Newest guidelines do not require so many steps: CALL 911 & PUSH HARD AND FAST. Non professionals do not need to check pulse (public = wrong 1/4 time) and initial breathing wastes time and also often wrong by public. Public get spooked by breath requirements and often won't do anything..

  • Important to know that this is NOT the current recommended way to do CPR, please see up to date (2010/2011) videos. The best way is to not waste time checking for breath, or take breaks doing mouth to mouth, just do 100 chest compressions per minute. That is the most important thing you can do for an ADULT in cardiac arrest.

  • not a happy ending...

  • I just had a dream and I had to perform CPR on my friend... I didn't know CPR lol thanks I'll try to remember this just in case

  • how can you see a breathing?

  • thats what medical school does to yah,you have too repeat everything out loud, lets just hope there not going to do it in real life

  • @axxle000 lucky

  • paremedic, sir can you hear me

    doll,im a chick god

  • Press 5 to hear Darth Vader breathing.

  • Dear beautiful person reading this,

i think he forgot to scan for blood before he did the chest compressions. What if the person had cuts? Doesn't that mean it would just be squirting blood all over?

love, a confused kid who has a test on this in 1 day

  • The patient is lying on live electrical wires!..you and he die!

  • Fuck adverts! Fuck google ads!

  • I found it hilarious when he says "No pulse"

Well .. It is a dummy

  • he's crap

  • he was so slow getting started

  • "It's safe to say you can stop CPR if patient wakes up".......

  • How to perform CPR Demon..

  • I wish you could have shown how to perform CPR without the mask, because a lot of people don't wander around with a mask in their pocket

  • @dragonshapedscar i do. i have one 24/7 on my keychain. never know when i'd need it.

  • @redsoxguy18 That's fantastic! I always carry three in my purse, I was just making a point that far from everyone takes that precaution. Giving artificial breathing is far from pleasant, especially if the person has vomit/blood in their mouth, and too few people carry masks around with them, so this video should at least give some handy tips for those who don't. Otherwise people may be discouraged from helping those in need because they don't have a mask.

  • @dragonshapedscar you can do it without the mask by putting your mouth firmly over their mouth, holding their nose and exhaling.

  • @dragonshapedscar just put your mouth on theirs, then blow. make sure their mouth is open -.-

  • Comment removed

  • that looks like a giant ass condom

  • @MowieJingles Because of that they recently changed it from ABC(Airway,Breathing, Chest Compressions) to CAB(Chest Compressions, Airway, Breathing). and they don't do the Look, listen, and feel either they say the only thing you should check for is response and breathing. So it gets people straight to business :-)

  • that video wuz gay i hated it its just a dummy

  • Comment removed

  • Thank you for your demo. I appreciate it very much. You perhaps did the chest compressions a bit too slow, but I suppose you did that to emphasize the technique rather than the timing. Nonethess, it is a very helpful reminder of the CPR class I took.

  • Comment removed

  • disadvantage of this there are no response

  • this is BLS or what?

in BLS there is no circle just perform 30 compression and 2 rescue breath until advanced care arrived and take over or patient moving or become responsive or you are tired and unable to continue

remember for BLS no circle and no reassess

    see AMERICAN HEARTH ASSOSSIATION

  • Those who try to disparage others by name-calling or foul language or by any means only disparage themselves in the end. Act respectably and you get more respect. For those of you who wish to tell Mr. Rios he is wrong, how about approaching him personally, not before the rest of us, and ask his opinion on some changes you have in mind and why based on what you have come across?

That is, if roles were reversed, how would you like to be approached in case of disagreement?

  • You also missed the part on checking the victim for bleeding from the nose, ears and eyes You should also check the back of the neck and head for spinal damage before lifing and tilting the victims head

  • compressions are to slow, 120 beats per minute!

  • Hey great video man. I like how to took it serious, nice work

  • Any CPR is better than nothing, but you shouldn't be stopping CPR or checking pulses unless the patient actually started to move on their own or had other signs of life.

Also halfway through you slowed compressions down to 60/min and they should be done at 100/min. Think of the tune Stayin Alive by the Beegees, and that is the rate you want.

  • First off I want to say that the last commentors are very ignorant. CPR IS USED BY EVERYONE WHEN IT COMES TO RESTARTING THE HEART CIRCULATION AND RESPIRATION. THE HEART AND LUNGS WORK TOGETHER YOU BLOCKHEADS, YOU WOULD HAVE LISTENED IN BIOLOGY OR EVEN SOME EDUCATIONAL CHANNEL YOU WOULD NOT BE WRITING STUPIDITIES ON YOUTUBE. I AM IN THE HEALTHCARE FIELD AND I FEEL THAT ANYBODY LOWER THAN A MEDICAL ASSISTANT SHOULDN'T POST A COMMENT UNLESS TO PROMOTE HEALTHCARE.

  • HOLY FUCK HE HAS NO ARMS OR LEGS WHAT THE FUCK DO WE DO NOW JESUS CHRIST DO WE EVEN BOTHER REVIVING HIM WHAT KIND OF LIFE WOULD THAT BE HOOOLLLLLYYYYY SHHHHHIIIIITTTTTTTT

  • can you blow up someones lungs by blowing into it to much? i always wondered

  • @doorknob106 a human couldn't do it, but i'd imagine the right amount of pressure could be achived via a pump or something. i think the most a human could do is damage the aviolie.

  • @doorknob106 If you blow too hard into someone's lungs during CPR this will result in gastric distention. Gastric distention is the filling of the stomach with air. To avoid this don't breath into the patient with too much force or too fast.

  • @rhinoryan120 thank you, im a lifegaurd in training.... we practiced our CPR and rescue breaths last saturday on dummies, and my instructor said the same thing.....

  • I took the (1) day CPR course offered by the American Red Cross. The course, at the time was $ 70. It was taught by a fireman.

He started the class by asking people seated in the back of the room, why they were taking the CPR course. Everyone, except myself, was a doctor, nurse, ambulance. All of them said they were taking the class because it was requiered. Finally my turn, I said I was there "for the pleasure of learning." Necks craned. What can I say; I'm born & raised in Berkeley !

  • i learned how to do this in my class! i thought it would be hard at first, but it turned out to be easy

  • Fucking advertising.

  • 'oh still no response'

    ? its a dummy?

  • He points to another dummy, "CALL 911!!!"

  • @mouse8390 hahahahahahahaha

  • @mouse8390 Internet, I love you. When I look at something serious you always make me laugh. Thanks.

  • @mouse8390 Even though he is doing CPR that doesn't mean that is going to affect anything EMS still needs to get there with a AED.

  • call 911,the dummy doesen/t breath

  • If he does not give adiquate preasure that dude will die. Not worried about breaking chest. It will heal if the guy come back. Our instructer said Out of 300 calls only 5 survived. He is not adjusting the head properly though. By tilting his head all the way back he is closing the throat. It should be tilted back to move the tongue and then moved to an almost strait position to allow clearest passage for air. Where the head in the video self adjusted is where he should be placing it.

  • your compressions were well to slow

  • thumbs down for advertisement

  • poor guy he thinks that dummy is a real person u.u

  • thats not cpr..thats "how to break a chest"

  • it would be so funny if the training guy farted after every compression

  • wait i thought when you perform cpr the subject if supposed to be on a hard surface not like a couch or bed oh nvm right as i put that lol

  • wait i thought when you perform cpr the subject if supposed to be on a hard surface not like a couch or bed

  • By the way guys this video is crap and infective please seek new information as this is old and obsolete.

  • did he died?

  • hole at bottom of torso at 1:35 makes for a nice fleshlight

  • guys ur comments are very funny, but i dont understand why u hate expertvillage so much x) luv ur comments either way xD he sees the breathing.. stupid... but anyway

  • this is great to no how to perform c.p.r godbless

  • On which side do u push on the chest left or right?! Please help me!

  • @jollyhollyiscool The victim's left side, that is where their heart is.

  • one of the funniest videos on youtube

  • too slow, 24 / 30 sec. should be around 17 / 30 sec

  • Well I hope this video works to help me pass my re-certification

  • now to lifeguard

  • but in the movies, CPR is much quicker

  • loooooool that manequin is so funny to watch XD

  • I needed this video to perform CPR on my grandma, but I had to wait for the advert to end and she died.

    THANKS A LOT YOUTUBE!

  • @unluckymonkeyboy sorry about your grandma, but you should've skipped to a different video rather than waste time waiting on an advertistment. just saying.

  • @unluckymonkeyboy troll'd

  • @unluckymonkeyboy dude, shut the fuck up. your grandmother didn't die ok, either you're just saying that because your a complete retard, or you are a fucking troll that complains about advertisements. No one would go on youtube to check how to perform CPR, you would call 9-11. Jesus Christ, how do you now know that that's how youtubers make money? If your grandmother did die, im sorry for your loss, but if she didnt, and actually is alive, well then i think you should go take a hike.

  • @Godster99Productions Wow, are you actually crying? it sounds like you're actually crying.

  • @unluckymonkeyboy its fuhuuuuny cause u cant hear me. this is a serious matter, not a joke you little faggot.

  • @Godster99Productions The levels of butthurt in your posts are reaching epic levels. Cry more.

  • @unluckymonkeyboy waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  • @unluckymonkeyboy not cool man, really.

  • @unluckymonkeyboy did this acctually happen?

  • @unluckymonkeyboy

If you had used AdBlock, your grandma would still be alive! Get it!

  • @unluckymonkeyboy you sir are a fucking dickwad, if you actually took school or payed attention in health, you would know how to perform cpr

  • @electricimpling dickwad?? hahahaha

  • @unluckymonkeyboy I laughed for 4 minutes straight and came close to requiring CPR myself.

    THANKS A LOT MONKEY BOY!

  • Why would they make you watch an ad first? What if it's an emergency? :|

  • gd job bro

  • what a great sex doll

  • if i had to count the number of times i encountered a severed mannequin that i had to perform cpr on... geez

  • Armpit patch

  • cheers thanx

  • what does CPR stand for?

  • @2010macmillan it stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

  • @2010macmillan Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

  • I thought this was going to be a useful video - then I saw it said EXPERTVILLAGE so I know it's pointless watching it, unless I want the wrong information (as is the case with virtually every expertvillage video).

  • move the patient to a hard surface>>>> mr. michael jackson's DOCTOR!

  • THEN WAIT TEN SECONDS.

THEN WAIT FIVE TO TEN SECONDS.

THEN PUT YOUR DUMMY ON THE GROUND FOR THIRTY SECONDS.

    THEN WAIT.

  • By the time you get the mask out he's dead.... >.>

  • where can I buy the mask-respirator he used at 1:00?

  • @KungfuMuythaiguy6 You asked about buying a CPR pocket mask, you can do that online or even call your local fire department and ask to buy one, not 911 but the fire departments actually number lol. You might get a jack ass but I would be willing to help if you called my fire department if you were local.

  • CPR will not produce a heart beat.

  • 1) paramedics carry the mask with them all the time, of course normal people don't but if you plug the nose it all works the same. they carry them so no germs transfer... and who knows where that doll has been.

    2) yes its a training doll but do you expect him to demonstrate on a real person? Doing CPR correctly will break ribs and probably the breast bone.

    3) All you guys are ass holes. You will thank this video one day when you are able to save a life. This is nothing to joke about...so grow up

  • the guy has been torn in half and his arms ripped off...CPR won't help

  • @Hellzyead lol dude. come on.

  • do we have to do the pressing 30 times? what if the person ran out of breath because of it?

  • umm don't think you'll ever gonna get a response from that guy!

  • did he realize his patient's inability to breathe was the least of the problem? he has no legs!

perhaps that explains the 'no pulse' dilema.

  • this is different than what I was being taight in health class. it doesn't sound right.

  • so cpr is for making the heart start pumping again or for the lungs to pump again, or both?

also is it possible to break the person's ribs?

  • @fullmaniacpanic----CPR is combined with ventalations and respirations. The compressions act to pump the heart and circulate blood flow throughout the body, the ventalations provide oxgenation for the lungs.

It is possible to break a patients ribs. It doesn't always happen but it can. If ribs do break, continue CPR as normal.

  • @TRIXSTER03 ---correction compressions and ventalations**

  • @TRIXSTER03 thanks!

  • @fullmaniacpanic yes it is both and if you do it right you will most likley break the ribs and breast bone.

  • Yes, because I always carry a medical oxygen mask in a fanny pack at my side...
