Isn't the hardest part of these kind of mixes recognizing the chords? I mean you sample some strings, and then wonder what chord it is. Melodies is not to hard to figure out by ear, but chords I find kinda difficult. Do you even speculate about the specific harmonies, or do you just go with what sounds good?

I know this may not be historically accurate but from my perspective, this is much like how Picasso introduced Cubism to the world. People loved his work so much they started painting in that style too. They probably had people comparing their work to Picasso, or saying "Oh, it's nice but it's not Picasso." So, I think we should all lay off about that because obv. he's an individual just trying to express himself. But also it's important not to forget who started it all, of course.

@Dittofication actually, I feel like you, Pogo, dainumo are like the French Impressionist more because they rejected the traditional formal elements of art (well not completely rejects), and instead broke an image into basic colors corresponding to a specific mood. In this case, you use samples from a film, and break the vocals into basic incomprehensible sound to provoke a mood corresponding to the film, but comprehendible conceptually. If that makes sense.

i mean not the same as in its not as catchy... its not something i want to listen to over and over. i'm not as in awe to your mixes as i was to the ones pogo made. i'm not saying that yours aren't good and don't take it personally, yours are very nice, but IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, it doesnt appeal to me musically... i'm just giving constructive criticism :3 and as i said on your other mix video, consider taking up music theory!
