Emitt Rhodes was a great musician who did manage to reach the top 20 with his first self made album. He could have made it. He had talent and a sweet charm, but he met the intrigues of the recording business and left music.

Doye Moye bought this album when it came out. Doye is actually my cat and didn't exist then ... really enjoyed the trip back ... good songs!

Rhodes was INFLUENCED by McCartney and there's nothing wrong with that as Emitt is an entity on to his own, so don't get it twisted, Ringoramjet.

Ever Since You've Been Gone is soooo musically tight. I know that Rhodes considers himself a drummer then singer (and then all the other instruments, too, I guess) His bass on this tune is masterful. Listen to it and catch the bass, baby! His guitar chords are perfectly placed and clean, always.

Emitt is the best. My older brother gave me this LP when I was ii years old because I looked like Emitt on the cover. He went out and bought another for himself because it was so damned good. This is the sound of my youth. His beautiful voice and musical talent haunt me for their disappearing. He should have been a major influence.
