the difrence between the C7A2 and the M16A2 is that the canadian forces plate the inside of the receiver with a crome alloy witch helps make the rifle more accurate, quieter and durable I know I was trained and qualified with it.
fucking idiots how can you be so sure that it's an m16 when esthetically they are so simillar that there is no way to tell the difference! the visible differences only come into play in the c7a2/m16a4 series rifles where there is a different combat optic, and furniture layout. they are both descendants of the same genesis of rifle: the ar15.
its a c7 original, itas a canadian cadet firing it. (We saddly no longer shoot c7 in the cadets)This rifle look like a m16 A2 but it can fire on fully automatic, the m16 only fire in burst.
@insertpunhere367 I hate you :( I was stuck with the separatist in valcartier :( I wanted to go get mah course in HMCS Ontario... But, the separatist thinks that everybody whose first language is french should get stuck with their bullshit hippy, separatist, stoner whining piece of shit ideology. Nnyway, i dunno if it still have balls outside of quebec(Well i know its better, I live in gatineau and have a few friend in ottawa that are in the cadets) but quebec cadets are queer as hell!
The Colt Canada C7 rifle is a service rifle variation of the M16 rifle that is manufactured by Diemaco/Colt Canada, a subsidiary of Colt Firearms after 2005, and used by the Canadian Forces.
The M16 (more formally Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16) is the United States Military designation for the AR-15 rifle. Colt purchased the rights to the AR-15 from ArmaLite and currently uses that designation only for semi-automatic versions of the rifle.
@roth00140 there are different versions of the C7, this one obviously looks similar to an M16 but the difference is hard to notice, If I am correct the M16 looking version of the C7 has different sights and a different rail system and is a pound heavier than the M16.
I'm not certain of this so if I am wrong please let me know.
@roth00140 it's a c7a1 not an m16 the are almost the same thing only the c7a1 is beeter then the m16 we took it and make it better then let our cadets shoot it. MAJ.a.brown CF
@roth00140 Dude calm down and use your fuckin brain. this is in CANADIAN FORCES BASE GAGETOWN where in CANADA, we use the C7. It is a C7A1 not A2 so it doesnt have the green stock or collapsable butt. These are Canadian cadets on a summer course. Guess what weapon they use? The C7. trust me I fired this weapon this summer. They look like M16s but are disimilar enough to have non interchangeable parts. You should know your weapons before commenting on videos my friend. And uploader, bad music.
@roth00140 its a C7. This fellow is a part of the Canadian cadet program. I was a part of the program to and it used to be part of the training to fire the C7. We do not use M16's in Canada.
All Canadian Army rifles are models of the M16A2 or the M4A1. They are named C7, C7A1, C7A2 and C8. The Canadian Army uses C7A2 and this kid was most likely a cadet which, is why they were using old ass C7's.
@walkertexasranger33 its not a c7a1 its just a c7 the c7a1 has the c79a2 optical sight, also know as th garbage can the c7a2 has the garbage can and adjustable butt stock
@Smits34 taskrHD most likely means it looks like an a1 model the a4 has flat top piccatiny rails and a removable iron sight that gun you have there is either an a1 or a2 ( i think its the a1 with a2 handgaurds)
@TaskrHD Its a C7A1 the older version of the C7, its missing the C79 Elcan sight because Cadets cant use them because of some stupid rule. The C7 is a better version of the American M16 and does bare resemblance.
@Smits34 it's definatly not a Canadian M16A4 the M16/C7 development paths diverged from each other after the M16A2, the biggest difference is the full auto capability, strong stock and materials and overall reliability.
Nice, I was at Argo too but, i was on Bravo Company on ACLI adventure, if you know i'm Jake Jordan from TJ,Adam and Adams corp, nice vid, ive seen some of the pics on fb but this was great!
Fun fact: though a bunch of flag wavers in the U.S. claim that Canada just copied their M16/M4 series, the guns were actually developed parallel.. but they wanted different things - for instance, Canada preffered a thicker profile barrel, and ambidextrous selector switch/mag release.. those are a couple differences between what the U.S. has and what Canada has. I've heard from 99% of people that the Canadians have a MUCH more reliable weapon series.. but I've never tested one, so I can't say :)
@Yumyumtuna they are more reliable, (not sure why though) but they also had the attachment rail before the M1913 milspec rails came out. another key difference in the designs the structural strengthening and selection of stronger materials for many parts (contributing to better reliability?). plus theres this thing called Canadianizing: we take things and make them better and more suited to our needs.
TJ here, nice video smith, but how did they not notice the camera? i think thats me behind you there because my rifle jammed and i had to fix it and i aint waerin my tili.
im pretty shure its the M16A2 comparison and the C7a2 is the M16A4 unless you shot the A1 which i doubt because it has green furnish on it and a colapsable stock and the C79 optical sight
I'm in the Canadian Military. This is MY weapon for the Reserves.
Look, the C7A2 is the green furnish weapon with the collapsable stock. It DOES come with a issued ELCAN gunsight (C79 Optical Gunsight) but most soldiers spend some of there money upgrading to the EO-Tech Holographic Weapons Sight.
What you are shooting in this video is the C7A1. How can I tell? The solid stock. Soldiers started to complain that in close quartars that the fixed stock was to long.
@imthemarine Ok thanks for the info, I knew it was the C7A1, thats what I had there first but the first guy to comment (skateman1994) said "im pretty shure its the M16A2 comparison and the C7a2 is the M16A4 unless you shot the A1 which i doubt because it has green furnish on it and a colapsable stock and the C79 optical sight". Ill change it back now, and by the way do you know a Corporal Jolly?
Dude, set the comments to approved only, it should solve the spam problem here (With the M16 kids who don't know a thing about guns)

You do know a C7 is just an AR-15 made for the Canadian military, the M16 is an AR-15 made for the US military. They are basically the same rifle.
