Unbelievable how people can give the thump down for this! I can't believe it! Watch this video and you know how to play a piano really. This is a reference in piano playing. Absolutely outstanding. You can feel and see that Mr. Gagnon and the grand piano built a unit, a perfect symbiosis.

Émile Nelligan... French-Canadian poet totally misunderstood by his piers, and lead to become insane.

André Gagnon composes "Nelligan", this beautiful piece. An author will one day put words to it ( ), and it will be sung by Renée Claude.

Eventually, two great artists André Gagnon and Michel Tremblay will write a musical simply called "Nelligan".

We can only hope that we have made it up to him, to Émile Nelligan.

Le titre de cette pièce est " Nelligan ", on la retrouvait sur son album " Saga " paru en 1974. Il la joue plus vite que sur sa version d'origine. L'album " Neiges " est apparu l'année suivante. La pièce "Nelligan " a fait partie d'une compilation à tirage limité sorti dans les années 90.

For me, there is no doubt that Andre Gagnon is one of the most outstanding composers ever. This performance is perfect. I'm an Andre Gagnon's music fan but it's always very difficult to find his CD's or music score even in the U.S. cities where I looked for them. It seems not be commercialized, which is good point somehow.
