T-Tech beating Texas was like Oregon St. beating USC, like Ol' Miss beating Florida...1 difference though, Texas lost ON THE ROAD. T-Tech played 2 great teams last year, they played NOBODY until they played Texas, who just got off a 3 game stretch vs. 3 top ranked opponents. Texas put up 45 on OU & beat them by 10 points & controlled the clock at the end....Florida put up 24 on OU and beat them by 10. Now 1 opponent, then you might have a point, but 2 of the same opponents...I Don't Think So.

I was at that UT-TT game. I told a buddy of mine that there was TT magic in the air. Lubbock was rocking and I had a BAD feeling. Sure enough we got popped in the mouth and were on our heals until we woke up midway through the 3rd. That loss still hurts, but the way Texas fought back showed me this was a very special group. The kept their composure and showed grit and moxy. I love Tebow and McCoy. A UT-UF title game could have been one for the ages...

You're right you can't. But you can't merely speculate that Florida would "just win". I think UF vs UT would have been an excellent matchup and could have gone either way. It's the same noise Texas heard when they played USC. No one thought they could win that either and that USC team was supposed to be the greatest college team of all time. That game was toe to toe.
