@sugarintheplum they're finger tapping the notes. Youtube won't let me post a link, but you can get more info if you google "finger tapping" or look up "tapping" on wikipedia
@sugarintheplum its called Tapping a guitar technique invented by rock guitarist Eddie Van Halen and now used by several guitarist in the world in many styles
@Sk8Kookies hmmm it's finger tapping, not finger picking, if you're talking about this band. Finger picking, although not exclusive to it, is mostly associated with bluegrass / banjos.

they're so great live because their music is 100% real. They spend more time touring and talking to their fans and what not than in the studio making their music something that it is not.
Dave Davison is such a focal point I never noticed how freakin amazing the drums are on this song until actually watching the drummer. WOW! Great clip and even better song!
m and a rules. i play both drums and guitar, and they're among my favorites for both instruments.
i also like chill shows like this where people are actually listening, as opposed to hitting each other. i think i'm going to give up on the metal scene.
@RoslesLladnek hahahaha. well, now that we're going to throw out silly assumptions about me, i'm going to criticize your terrible grammar, and then laugh to myself about how absurd this conversation is.
Oh wow, this is from the Power Chord Academy that I was at. There was about 40 people watching this in a huge auditorium. Was a really chill show, even got to talk to the guys after they played.
@Meerkathaut What I get from it is:
Reassembling artichokes last night, when breakfast came you went around to your car
And we gave an introduction to our own callous shoe heels and our exposed little lips
Well I sit and read Time Magazine with you, Love, sometimes out here in the vacant city in lights
And we had an introduction for our own brushing elbows and outside funny heads

@Meerkathaut
Sometimes I fall on your ribcage, a funny kind of tune, [and we’re interested from drooling, tying, dragging]
And everything after that, and everything we pride, is still dying, laughing, crying, sighing sagging.
Reassembling artichokes last night, when breakfast came you went around to your car
And that’s when I realized, you have already
You have already, you have already heard. (x3)
You have already heard the sounds this mouth can make. (x2)

We kept an intimate action through our kalishoe ears and I exposed your lips
I sit and read Time Magazine with you love, Sometimes out here in the vacant city lots
And we taught an intimate action through our brushing elbows, and outside funny heads
A frontside poke to the ribcage, a funny cartoon, a rich assembly tooling toiling timing

Amazing! But woah could someone explain why theyre playing their guitars like that? Looks like theyre not even touching the the strings.
sugarintheplum 1 year ago
@sugarintheplum That is because they're talents were forged out of the fires of Isengard, molded in Science and set in Mathematics.

Chill shows are fun. But I love slamming into people at metal shows too. They both have their place. Dont give up on one, have a little of both.

@pocketocrisps What kind of hipster piece of shit abbreviates maps and atlases. I bet you are terible at both guitar and drums.
