It's called stop-motion animation. You basically just take a few images then combine them up with delay.

I'm gonna go buy some super long matchsticks and make a HUGE matchstick cube of them :D

It took me 2 about hours to make my first cube and 1½ hours to make my second one.

Few parts weren't as easy at it looks on the video, as the cube easily breaks when you first tighten and rotate it, though it is quite easily repaired unless it totally breaks apart.

I put every other match pointing the other way on my 2nd cube so it became symmetric.

The variation on the video has much cleaner looking edges though.

I'd like to see a match cube burn. I'll probably make a video of it :P

When you've got to the part when you first tighten the cube (quite hard to keep it from breaking apart while tightening) you just basically expand every side the same way little by little until you can't anymore due to the length of the matches.

Don't try to follow the steps on the video too strictly (the rotation seemed a bit confusing on the video at some point). The expading is easy to figure out just by playing around.

Yeah I figured out that expanding part but never got to it.

Do I just start to expand it after first tightening?

Because, when I rotate the cube, that side the cube was previously standing on is straight and the matches from below are not tightend. How do I tighten that?

It always falls apart on that part :(

Any advice? Or even better, If you could make a video of doing that "after first squeeze" part, It would be really helpful and great :)

me too i block here i made the cube like 20 times and it dont work!!! its impossible i tried everything. we need a slower video or all the steps.But i think nobody will answer because it looks like the creator of this video is not connected/dont understand english...

I also tried all possible combinations with paper and cards and whatnot and it always fell apart.
