That "torch on the side of a block that depowers the circuit nexto to the torch" as you call it is called a NOT gate (works as an inverter). Just thought you should know, Im not criticizing no one cause didnt knew it as well. I'm also a beginer at redstone circuitry. Nice tut by the way =)
