  • Miak!

  • the nostalgia critic brings up the random dude nobody identifies at 1:07

  • Why hasn't someone remixed this shit? It would be fucking perfect and you all KNOW it. It's still awesome by itself though jesus christ best song ever.

  • What are the movies at 43, 1:52, and 2:05? Someone please reply if you know what they are.

  • Quddus19- It's from "The screaming skull" A lot better imo if you watch it from MST3K.

  • Which is the one at the end where he throws the chair at the skeleton?

  • i always wondered about that dance at 1:12.what movie is that from?

  • HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE AND ERNEST! WE MISS YOU!!!!!

  • Watching this on halloween, , now that I am 25 totally brings back memories of when Halloween was awesome and scary. People went all out now you rarely see people decorate there house.

  • 1:29-1:34 makes me laugh!!!! the reaction is sooooo funny

  • I know this is strange, but the music always sounded similar to Mystic Cave Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

  • 1:04-WHO IS THAT?!

  • What is that brain monster on 0:54?

  • @mayostrain That's from The Brain from Planet Arous.

  • It's neat that you see some clips from 'Nosferatu,' but that's not a B- Movie, it's a classic!

  • @Adamguy2003 I think among all the films seen here, "Nosferatu" is definitely a classic not a "B" movie. The rest are B movies, though.

  • I love listening to this theme..but Im off to the store to get some Miak :)

  • Made by Cherry Coke.

  • GO ERNEST!!!!!

  • FTW

  • BOO!!!!!

  • Happy Halloween!!!!!!

  • Long Live Jim Varney!!!!!

  • @lostsoulchild87 It is from "Missile to the Moon".

  • @horrorshow20000 IDK, I Just Wanted To Say That To You For Helping

Me Remembering The Name Of The SCI-FI Movie

  • you're welcome, I am glad you enjoy this movie, too, I do not think many do, but I know that even though the film is alright, the intro is awesome, hands down

  • 1:36 n 1:41 scared da pee out of me n diz movie scared me since i was 4 n it still does n im only 14...aint i whimp :(

  • @bashamwolf5 OMG!

  • This theme song is epic.

  • Lmao I thought 1:06 was Gadaffi

  • A Clip from the original "Teeth" 0:43

  • @smx554 What is "Teeth"?

  • ive always loved ernest movies

  • 1:18..... WTF

  • @TimmyRoe I have no idea, maybe it is the director. I don't know.

  • Does anyone remember watching the intro at theaters? I saw the movie at a theater, and I remembered all the parts, yet I do not remember watching the opening credits. Maybe I did not came in until after the intro started, but I do not think so. So, if anyone here watched the film, do they remember watching the intro? I sure don't, and I doubt it was edited out.

  • I like this music, it's like something you would hear in Castlevania!

  • @wiisalute perhaps, but I have not played the game for quite a while, so I do not honestly know, but you could be right. However, I wonder if the song "It's a B- Movie" from "the Brave Little Toaster" inspired this, since the two songs are musically similar, relate to B movies, and have spooky organ music.

  • @horrorshow20000 Scary, Huh?

  • Comment removed

  • Watch this high... you cant stop laughing.

  • @TheForgottenFlesh it could be from a film not made in the U.S., but how could Sinister Cinema or Wade Williams Inc know about it. It (as we already said) could also be from some movie with lost footage. It could also be from a colorized movie turned into a black and white clip. You know, "Battle beyond the Sun" is colorized, but the two shown clips are in black and white here, and the scene from "Phantom from Space" (Phantom walking towards camera) was from trailer not film.

  • Does anyone notice the logo on the guy's shirt? It looks like a hog or skull to me. (The clip is at 1:07, when the credit shows up as "casting by Ruth Lambert"). It might just be a gaffer, but I don't know, looks like some sort of space opera to me. Maybe this is also lost footage, but it definitely looks like a space flick (maybe "the Phantom of the Paradise"), I don't know.

  • Wow, I just noticed this, but does anyone notice the eyes or other part of the castle on the far left (near the windows) of the first clip? You might need to zoom in, but they might be clouds, but those don't look like clouds to me, those look like the starring eyes from "White Zombie", perhaps lost footage (I did read somewhere there was original footage, but had to be removed due to a court battle), and on a cover of the film, there is a castle and lightning, so yeah, that must be it.

  • we need a metalversion of this

  • This made me crack up RIP Jim Varney

  • OH MY GOD!!! SOME MST3K MOVIES IN THIS OPENING

  • who the hell is that at 1:07?

  • I feel so proud that I own all the movies the clips are from. So awesome.

  • @TheForgottenFlesh I do too, except the first clip shown, and the fast clip of a guy at 1:18. Do you know what those are from? I have been trying to figure them out for years and found nothing.

  • @horrorshow20000 The haunted house clip you mean? Damn no clue, stock footage probably.

As far as the gate goes. I think it could be from Missile From The Moon when the Spider monster arrives.

  • @TheForgottenFlesh the haunted house clip, yes, maybe from some Frankenstein movie, I don't know. Maybe it is lost footage from some famous B movie, perhaps. Also, I am not talking about the gate scene, I know that is from Missile to the Moon to sure, but I am talking about the clip (two clips before the scene from Nosferatu, when we see his shadow creeping up the stairs), it is right after the Ernest shot. Do you know what that could be from?

  • @horrorshow20000 The color one electrocuting the guy is just something the filmed (probably the director) and the spaceman walking toward the camera is Phantom From Space, the guy getting strangled and girl screaming from window is from Hideous Sun Demon.

  • @TheForgottenFlesh still I think the two clips are from movies. I cannot believe they are not listed in the ending credits. There are only two acknowledgments in the credits: "main title footage by Sinister Cinema" and "additional footage by Wade Williams Inc." Most of the movies (except the Brain from Planet Arous) are Sinister Cinema movies, the Brain is Wade Williams Inc, though some of the others are too. I sent Sinister Cinema pictures of the two clips, they didn't know them.

  • @horrorshow20000 Actually a lot of them are from Wade Williams, Missile To The Moon, Sun Demon, Phantom From Space, ect.

  • @TheForgottenFlesh You are probably right, still I wish I knew for sure, and do you know what the second clip is from (the one with lightning in the sky)? It might be from "Phantom from Space", but there are also lightning-in-the-sky scenes from "the Killer Shrews" and "the Hideous Sun Demon", but I do not know for sure, maybe I will check later. And, I am sure the castle clip is from "White Zombie" lost footage probably, but it's not "Young Frankenstein", that's for sure.

  • @horrorshow20000 The lightning is just stock footage (as it was used often in older films). I thought the castle clip was from White Zombie but I just watched White Zombie last night and it's not. Lugosi's castle is on the right side of the screen and next to the sea.

  • @TheForgottenFlesh Yes, I watched "White Zombie" and that is not it. It might be from "Young Frankenstein", but I do not think it is, maybe it is some from other Frankenstein movie or of the like. It could also be "the Haunted Palace", but that is in color. The lightning was also used in other films, but there are lightning in the sky with clouds scenes in "Phantom from Space", "the Killer Shrews", and "the Hideous Sun Demon", but maybe it is the third one, maybe.

  • @horrorshow20000 It could very well be from a Mexican horror flick or just a small drive in intermission or something. It's not Young Frankenstein.

  • @TheForgottenFlesh I also want to add. I looked up castles/palaces about a year back, and I found the Belem Tower (a.k.a. the Tower of St. Vincent), a fortified tower located in the Belem district of Lisbon in Portugal. You can find more info about it on the internet. When I first looked at the Belem Tower, the picture of the castle seemed like a dead ringer to me, look for yourself, the two castles are nearly identical. Perhaps, the Belem of Tower was from a non-US "B" movie.

  • It's physically impossible not to bob your head to this song.

  • "Boy I sure hope your from Keebler"!

  • The flying brain scares me

  • @Figlitiblitification it is somewhat scary, but I also think the giant spider and Nosferatu's shadow are creepy too, but in a good way not a bad way. I also find the music to be somewhat scary, and I am very sure all of these gathered clips are the scariest scenes in their respective movies, but once again, it is a great music video, great music and great clips, and undoubtedly, my most favorite part of the entire movie.

  • Do the end credits mention who composed this music? I want to use it for a CD and I want to have an artists credited

  • @ConnDevi88 Bruce Arnston and Kirby Shelstad.

  • @ConnDevi88 It says it at 1:12.

  • @dissident93 Thanks!

  • @ConnDevi88 Haha, I know how it is to be relentless searching for song credits for the sole purpose of looking good on iTunes or whatever.

  • i love this opening its almost better then the movie its self which is why its now on my favorites.

  • @MOVIEmania709 I feel the same way, too. I like the movie, but I prefer the intro so much more. It is much more intriguing, I might offend.

  • @horrorshow20000 why would people find it offensive

  • @MOVIEmania709 Because some people may think just liking the intro will not be a good reason enough to dislike the film, if so. I don't know.

  • @horrorshow20000 yeah and i dont find it offensive cause its your opinnion on the movie

  • This movie is an allegory for Vietnam.

  • @Leatherbubba explain i wanna know...honestly

  • @trashers4cashers I think he meant because of Ernest's impersonations, but I don't know. It has nothing to do with Vietnam, in my opinion, but perhaps I am missing something.

  • At least half of these clips ended up on MST3K. I see Screaming Skull, Killer Shrews, and Crawling Eye. I think I see Planet 9, Creeping Terror, and Crawling Brain (or whatever the title was) and one other I forget the title to. Anyone back me up?

  • @psygyl I saw the Screaming Skull, and the Killer Shrews, but I did not see Planet 9, Creeping Terror, the Crawling Eye, or Dementia (Daughter of Darkness) (someone else I think pointed out), where did you see these?

  • @horrorshow20000 The scared crowd shots are Creeping Terror and Giant Gila Monster, if I remember right. The boiling water with the skull is from Screaming Skull.

  • @psygyl I do not think there is any scene here from "Creeping Terror", but definitely "the Giant Gila Monster" and "the Screaming Skull." I did not notice any clip from "Planet 9", "Creeping Terror", "the Crawling Eye", and "Dementia (Daughter of Darkness)", which clips are you talking about?

  • 1:07 Who's that and why's he in this?

  • 0:43 hahaha a vaginia tree

  • @LauraLovesAlmanzo Ha it's actually from Battle Beyond The Sun I believe it's two aliens meant to represent a penis and vagina. So you are correct on the penis part.

  • @TheForgottenFlesh Thanks

  • Awww, this was so much fun to watch when I was a kid :) Definitely one of my favorites.

  • This song is my JAM. Anyone know where I could get the mp3?

  • best opening ever!!!!!

  • I want this mp3

  • WHO in the WORLD WOULD DISLIKE THIS MOVIE ?!!?!?! It's JIM VARNEY tsk tsk tsk!

  • That flying brain thing a little less than halfway through used to scare the shit outta me as a kid.

  • Comment removed

  • i love this movie but he is such a jackass haha

  • Where the Fuck did the guy at 1:07 come from! Haha scariest part of the whole movie.

  • @michaelwalford probably the director putting in his cameo

  • This music is the soundtrack to my life. That and Lux Aeterna.

  • I get the impression that this was going to be a rap song, but they ran out of money at the last second, lol. I love how cheesy it is, tho.

  • omg, this is so nostalgic!!! I actually remember being a little scared of this as a kid! Now I love it so much!!! LOVE Ernest!!

  • James D. Rolfe brought me here :D

  • @UltimateDumeandGwen Doug Walker brought me here.

  • my brother can play this song on piano. jim varney was a huge influence on me deciding to act, and my favorite childhood actor.

  • whats 43 n 59 1:51?

  • @AkatsukiXxXSephiroth I can answer your question, but what are you exactly referring to? Are you referring to the gigantic lunar spider from "Missile to the Moon", the alien from "Phantom from Space", or the monster from "the Hideous Sun Demon", or something else?

  • It isn't Halloween unless you play this :D

  • 1:07

    "Who the fuck's that guy?"

  • xxpatheticemoxx Iam so glad I'm not the only one that ever noticed the cherry coke thing

  • Beat is catchy as hell

  • Thank you Nostalgia Critic for reminding this film, even though I didn't like this Ernest film I liked the opening credits.

    The Little Shop Of Horrors

    The Screaming skull

    The House on Haunted Hill

    the killer shrews'

    White Zombie

    Daughter of horror

    thats all i reconize

  • @luigiblox You got Nosferatu, the Brain from Planet Arous, the Little Shop of Horrors, the Screaming Skull, the Killer Shrews, and White Zombie all correct. Phantom from Space, Missile to the Moon, the Hideous Sun Demon, the Giant Gila Monster, and Battle Beyond the Sun are also in it.. The House on Haunted Hill is "NOT" in it, the skull sitting in the boiling water is from "the Screaming Skull", see it for yourself. However, I have never heard of "Daughter of Horror", what is that film?

  • @horrorshow20000 daughter of horror was a horror movie idk much ask james rolf the avgn

  • @luigiblox Where is Little Shop of Horros in this? I can't find it.

  • @redhawk797 it is at 0:39-0:40, it is the one where the man rises his head out of a fake toilet lid.

  • @redhawk797 its the one with the guys head coming out of the toilet seat

  • Mama mia,me likey so much.

  • this movie was kind of fun to watch. why did the good stuff have to end in the 2k's? a lot of people passed away in this decade!

  • One of the best, most classic Halloween Flicks ever! VERY underrated. Yes it's silly and goofy and even STUPID (hence the damn title) but thats why it's fun and great.

  • i remember first watching this at my cousin's place. and i was all scared up from the first opening credits 02:18 that was me just when the actual movie began XD

  • I always thought these were great opening credits, even when I was young.

  • Wait, pause around 1:06 or 1:07, WHO THE HELLS THAT!?

  • @TheCGIMaster I've always wondered that too. Perhaps the secret died with Jim Varney?

  • @cruisinthrutime Actually, this film is copyrighted by Touchtone pictures, a subsidiary the Walt Disney Company.

  • I am a big Ernest fan but this is my least favorite but i liked the movie

  • "Authentic Bulgarian miak!"

  • John Cherry and Coke Sams, this film was officially written by Cherry coke.-Doug Walker.

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx That's not funny.

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx 'Very' funny.

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx A movie written by a soda

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx

that's not funny... that's not... ugh

  • Can you download this music somewhere?

  • Even though this movie horribly stupid (which makes for a fitting title), the music does kick some SERIOUS ass. Not just the opening credits, but just about the entire score.

Also, thumbs up if you're here for NC!

  • @redhawk797 Sorry, I meant "is" horribly stupid.

  • @redhawk797 I can give you a thumb up your anus for trying to get thumbs up for something so retarded and desperate.

  • @kurvos 1. It was just a little joke. It didn't hurt anyone. 2. I'm not the first one to do it, nor will I be the last. Save your hate for something that really matters.

  • @redhawk797 I know jokes. If you call that a joke, I've seen 5 year old kids coming up with better jokes. That sort of comment is meant for dumb people.

  • @kurvos You know what a joke is, right? It's basically something that you aren't supposed to take seriously. Try it sometime.

  • @redhawk797 A joke is something you laugh at. I try well-thought through jokes all the time - I am famous for my funny comic strips at DeviantArt already. Both people there and people I know IRL tells I am among the funniest persons they know. So, now I will say something I have never said, but always wanted to say - in your face! XD

  • @kurvos Nope, this thread and the other posts you have made on here have irrefutably proven that you're absolutely nothing more but a gutless liar trolling YouTube boards trying to start fights. Your idea of "humor" is crap like Jersey Shore. You'll make another some snarky comment, but nothing changes the fact that the one and only thing keeping you from winding up in a ditch vomiting up your bleeding intestines after getting the ever-loving shit beat out of you is your internet anonymity.

  • 1:07 who the fuck is that!? lol

  • @ElWeyChingon I thought someone said it was Jim Varney out of character, but with the bright light on him its hard to tell.

  • This song is so catchy :)

  • I'm Batman!

  • nostalgia critic just did a review on this but failed to mention the kickass music!

  • @BlackandBlueMage Yuuuup.

  • 0:43-0:45 what was the movie name

  • @Boboboguy123 It is from "Battle Beyond the Sun."

  • These are the best damn opening credits period. Why? Because of Ernest, the clips from old B-movies (even though they are public domain), and the music. I well say it again, BEST DAMN OPENING CREDITS PERIOD.

  • @549093 In your opinion.

  • this movie seriously scared me as a kid

  • @Banminator

Me too! I was six when I saw this at the theaters, and then the parts with the monster just appearing out of nowhere or changing its voice so it sounded like the other characters scared the crap outta me. I couldn't sleep alone that night because I was so freaked out.

  • This movie was like finding the holy grail when I was a kid. It combines Ernest P. Worrell, and monster movies. Two of my favorite things.

  • this song rips it up. reminds me of some modern day music like sts9 in a strange way.... love this move tho, kids now watch tons of crap!

  • Who's the guy showen for half a second in frame 1:07

  • @TankCop I guess nobody knows, but the clip of the guy in the spacesuit is from Phantom Form Space.

  • @TankCop That is what I am also trying to find out, but no one seems to know, for some strange reason, but yes, the guy in the spacesuit is definitely from "Phantom from Space." Perhaps, the guy shown for half a second in frame was just created for the movie. I don't think so, but maybe it is a possibility. I also think the castle clip was also created for the film, it is not from "Nosferatu" or "Young Frankenstein", I know that much.

  • @horrorshow20000 The castle is from the ORIGINAL Frankenstein movies- "Bride of Frankenstein" in fact, if memory serves.

  • Ernest vs. The Public Domain.

  • You know, you can put any clip of various Horror films like from the 80's into the opening credits and he'd still get scared.
