  • in your opinion, whats better for day-to-day computing? Windows or Ubuntu?

  • really helpful! 'been on MS ever since, from MS DOS to Windows 7. 'been hearing a lot about linux then, but haven't really considered trying it. your vids got me convinced to give linux a try.

  • Have they made any strides in regards to running online games, including 3D ones ie: Everquest, Aion, Final Fantasy, and ugh, Wow? We have a household where the OS must be able to do just about anything we need to suit everyone.

  • wow i been seeing your videos on linux the install and the cool apps it has i am useing xp right now and i been planing on changeing it and now i think i am going to take ubountu for a run see how i like it but on a virtual pc 1st thanks alot one other thing do linux get virus? and what do i do about hackers ????

  • Linux doesn't have viruses. Make sure you have an adequate firewall, linux has many software based ones, but the firewall on your Router is probably fine. Don't open services you don't know or need, such as web server or ftp server.

  • do you know any good firewall for linux ???

    and thank you

  • @gnu2tux Linux doesnt have viruses - yet. Any OS regardless of which one, is vulnerable if people decide to target it. We must never forget this!

  • wat do u mean by it doesn't have viruses don't u mean it doesn't get viruses

  • I cant big up open office enough , Its beond me why people pay to use Office

  • dude can u tell my why i need 2 make a account i put it a password and username and says error or something caps or something ti not on helP?

  • your videos have made me decide to switch to linux. i wasn't sure at first how it would be but from your videos i can tell ubuntu is a really good operating system

  • Thanks samacedo101 - This is my goal with these videos, I really want to show everyone how great Linux actually is. There really is no good reason these days why people don't use Linux instead of Windows or Mac. Best thing is, it's free!

  • Question: Dose it automatically detect the sound card? And do you have to install the drivers or dose it do it for you?

  • it automatically detects. You don't need to install drivers.

  • Thanks It installed perfectly. Its way better than knoppix.

  • Also! Why does that circle keep appearing on your desktop?

  • The circle indicates a single or double click of my mouse to show you where I'm clicking.

  • W00t! Great video... already knew about Open office, since I cant afford MS office on my PC anyways... The only reason Im not on ubuntu now is I cant get flash things like youtube to work on my 64 version of ubuntu, and I cant play Warcraft 3 on it. Awesome video though!

  • Hi - Ubuntu does play WoW - I can't paste URLs to Youtube but if you either search google for World of warcraft ubuntu you will find it's been playable with wine and also a program called Crossover (commercial) for a long time.

Also, I'm not sure how long ago you tried Ubuntu last, but whilst the AMD64 release of Ubuntu couldn't (easily) use Flash player to begin with, it's now fairly easy to do. Relevant instructions to install are locatable on the web. If no luck check out our forums!
