The hell with boycotting them. Just steal whatever stuff they make that's worth watching. Be sure to not return any movies to blockbuster. Download any movies they make for free on a p2p network and give free copies away to everyone. Hit em' where it hurts.
This also means canceling your subscription to Blockbuster Video, and DO NOT see Kung Fu Panda, The Love Guru or other Viacom-subsidiary products. That's OK, though. Netflix is inexpensive and has a great selection (and if you rent Viacom movies from them, the money doesn't benefit Viacom as much as it would if you bought the DVD or rented from Blockbuster (a Viacom company)).

The point here is: You signed the EULA when you joined YouTube which states that YouTube will not share your private data or viewing habits with other organisations.

I'm with you on the boycott thing. From this point on I will never watch another movie, I will never watch Headbanger's Ball on MTV2 again (it pains me to do it but it must be done), I'll try to convince my best friend to quit his job at Blockbuster, I will say goodbye to South Park (you too will be missed), and if there's anything else I can do, let me know so I can do my part in bringing the media giant down!

The hell with boycotting them. Just steal whatever stuff they make that's worth watching. Be sure to not return any movies to blockbuster. Download any movies they make for free on a p2p network and give free copies away to everyone. Hit em' where it hurts.

This also means canceling your subscription to Blockbuster Video, and DO NOT see Kung Fu Panda, The Love Guru or other Viacom-subsidiary products. That's OK, though. Netflix is inexpensive and has a great selection (and if you rent Viacom movies from them, the money doesn't benefit Viacom as much as it would if you bought the DVD or rented from Blockbuster (a Viacom company)).
No more Daily Show or Colbert Report. Watch The Onion instead.

I wouldn't boycott Viacom because Viacom has done nothing wrong and Viacom having my demographical info is no different than Google having it. One corporation is just giving another corporation info to "sweeten the deal" because blunders have occured.
It could be worse Viacom could be even more demanding.
Considering they have been wronged and that's all they want isn't that a fair deal?

The point here is: You signed the EULA when you joined YouTube which states that YouTube will not share your private data or viewing habits with other organisations.
Viacoms beef is with YouTube for allowing copyrighted material to be uploaded to YouTube. YouTube have argued that they do all within their power to remove copyright material asap.
The strength of Viacoms response can mean only one thing: They see YouTube as a direct threat, so they are trying to kill it.
